The agent apologized but fudged the paperwork and changed the date. I took several screenshots of our email conversation . I don't recommend AAA to anyone they use false advertising and robo and spam mailings for you to purchase unnecessary life insurance . No one is available to take a simple phone call and they are always too busy. People don't want to work nowadays and rather work from home without any accountability . LARGE insurance companies have gotten too big for their bridges and we the consumers must expose them. I recommend dealing with a smaller insurance company this way you should get more of a personal service. I have called 6 of their 1-800- numbers and still haven't been able to talk to anyone .

I made a claim, but I never followed up cause it just looked like it had a dent and I never had any problems opening and closing the hood for regular maintenance such as oil changes. Back in January 2025 when is was so cold my battery died and AAA came and changed my battery. When they shut the hood they couldn't get the hood latched. I took it in to be fixed and I figured I would just use my claim. Well someone from field appraiser came out and wrote that it was a total loss. I was shocked. I disagreed and wanted some one else's opinion. But I was never allowed to have someone else look at it since it was now considered a total loss. It would always be flagged that and I had no recourse. If I bought it back it will always be red flagged as a total loss. So no collision or comprehensive insurance. All I went in was to have the hood latched shut. Now you would think since I have been a loyal customer of AAA auto insurance since, 1974. That I would at least been able to go with the field appraiser or with a new one to get a second opinion. And to show me why they think my vehicle is a total loss. But I was never offered that. I hope this will be a warning to ppl that have AAA auto insurance and for ppl thinking of getting AAA auto insurance to go somewhere else. My husband of 47 years had just died or he would have fixed the latch. I was pushed into a corner and was NEVER allowed to actually see why is was considered a total loss. I was never given a chance to see what the appraiser or have a second opinion.

I call, Sue says she will look into it but doesn't return the call for at least 10 days, then has an excuse why it took so long. Is it so hard to pick up the phone and at least update your client as to what is going on. The problem? Sue failed to completely copy my records proving I had prior insurance elsewhere. The original quote never materialized and I was told there was nothing that could be done; it was a decision made by the company. Then Sue 'offers' to get a quote from a different company, says she will call back next day; never called to this day. I called and left 3 messages, no return call; this is BS. My job was a customer service expert for a very long time, and I promise you this is not what real customer service looks like. As a local TV station recently stated in one of their stories, common courtesy isn't common anymore. Needless to say I went elsewhere.

It took multiple phone calls and voice mail messages to finally speak with the agent who informed me that the underwriters were trying to work something out and they would get back with. Multiple emails later with no response, it was clear the agent was ignoring my calls and emails, which I did call out in my final email. At no time was I given referrals to another company. So as I said, I don't find Dearborn Agency to be reliable or responsive.
