God, I hate Ikea. I wish I weren't so Ikea-dependent. It's always busy, very stressful, a little overwhelming and in the end you always end up walking out with WAY more than you intended to purchase. At the same time, it's really convenient being off the highway and right in Atlantic Station. It's super cheap, but don't get me wrong - you get what you pay for. The $20 furniture is CRAP but hey, it's $20. I found that if you pay a little more for the "nicer" stuff it doesn't look like garbage and it will last you longer than a year. My bed and bookshelf are "nice" Ikea goods, but I spent more on them because I wanted them to look good in my place. Trust me, I've looked elsewhere I promise! And all the new hip, chic, or whatever you want to call them, designer furniture stores LOOK exactly like Ikea but about 5 times the price. So if you want a cool look for your space you're in the right place. Just prepare yourself for lines, crowds, and confusion once you arrive. I don't wish Ikea on anyone but it has become one of those necessary evils of modern day life in the big city. ----------------------------- Edit (9 Sept 2007): I failed to mention that I also purchased an orchid from Ikea. Yes, a real live flower. It's actually really pretty and the blooms are alot bigger than on orchids I've seen elsewhere. This store is an absolute NIGHTMARE! The lines are consistently long flowing back into merchandise areas, though there are multitudes if employees walking around. The bigger problem, this store is CONSTANTLY out of stock on staple items(non-discontinued items) for weeks, at this day and age everyone uses an auto-replenish system Ikea is THE WORST, and calling it going in to follow up on items (that are in stock but not on the floor) is like an act of Congress! Now I remember why I stopped coming to this hell hole! The customer service is non-existent and they don't seem to care! A big ass maze of cheap design and bored people literally in the rat race unhealthy plastic food nothing good even caught my eye and I love bargain shopping I'm just over Ikea at this point. Really shouldn't be shopping here unless you're a college student- I would suggest going in the off season for cheap, useful finds or temporary furniture and knick knacks. IKEA Atlanta's customer service and home delivery is the absolute worst. Hands-down, flat-out, Grade A garbage. I have never had grounds to complain about a business before, but here I am, seven phone calls and one store visit into this still unresolved experience. 12/6/13: Purchased a great deal of merchandise for our new home, scheduled home delivery for 12/13. 12/13: Most of the items make it. One doesn't. I immediately call customer service (Call #1). I'm told my case will be sent to the appropriate department, and I'll receive a phone call to reschedule delivery "in 2-3 days." 12/14-12/19: No phone call to reschedule delivery received. 12/19: I call customer service (#2) and am told my case wasn't actually forwarded. The agent tells me he'll connect me to the proper department, but instead I'm disconnected altogether. I call back (#3) and stay on hold for 40 minutes before hanging up without ever talking to anyone. 12/20: Visit home delivery in person. Item is scheduled to be delivered on 12/26. 12/26: Having never received a phone call confirming delivery, I call at 3:00 p.m. (#4) and am told the item will be delivered that day. It never arrives. 12/27: I call customer service (#5). I'm told once again that the missing item was forwarded to the proper department but it was never pulled from the floor for delivery. Surly agent tells me the problem will be taken care of and I'll receive a call "in 30 minutes to an hour" to schedule delivery. Three hours later, no call has ever come. I call customer service (#6) and ask to speak to a supervisor. The woman I speak to is, for the first time since this whole ordeal began, pleasant and apologetic. She gets to the bottom of the problem and tells me, once again, that the item was never pulled from the floor, so it was never actually scheduled for delivery. She talks to the appropriate person and assures me it'll be delivered on Tuesday (12/30). She provides me with the extension for home delivery so I can call that department direct in the future. 12/29: No confirmation call received. I try calling home delivery direct (#7) to make sure the item will be delivered tomorrow. The phone rings for several minutes without anyone picking up. This is absolutely inexcusable service. Maybe the item will be delivered tomorrow, maybe not. Either way, the store has lost my business for good. read more

I was there today 12/8/13 with my husband. We had planned to buy a sofa bed... We saw one in the showroom that we really liked but when we went downstairs and after looking for the frame for several minutes we realized it was out of stock... but there was no one at the help desk to confirm that. We waited and waited and waited and finally a guy told us that they have been out of stock on that one item for several weeks and that they were not getting more... WHY DON'T THEY BOTHER TO PUT A SIGN IN THE SHOWROOM SAYING THAT THEY DON'T CARRY THAT ITEM ANYMORE???. We went upstairs a second time ... choose a different sofa bed went downstairs again.. and guess what? For this Sofa bed they had the frame but not the cover... AGAIN NO INFORMATION IN THE SHOWROOM THAT THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK. So we went upstairs a third time... selected a different sofa bed... went downs stairs to get it... we found all the parts this time... the frame was heavy and I was carrying my baby... so we needed for someone to help my husband.. we asked this guy Sidney for help and he said "is the item not within reach'???" we told him it was but that the frame was too heavy... well.. SIDNEY refused to help us... At that point two other Ikea workers that heard what happened came to pull the frame out for us... so we went to checkout... only 3 registers were open... and each had a line of at least 15 customers... by then we were just too frustrated to purchase anything there.... I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO IKEA IN ATLANTA.... they don't even deserve the one star I'm giving them. I have purchased Ikea products before in other cities (NY) and other countries (Spain & France) where customer service was way better than in the Atlanta store. You start off with something in your mind, maybe you saw a nice table or cabinet or something online and you just want to go into the store, pick up the box and get out. 4 hours later, and 10 carts full of stuff you wind up back at your Ford Pinto wondering how the hell you're going to fit all this stuff into your death box. This doesn't even include the 3 days you're going to lose as you call in sick to work so you can try and piece together pieces of furniture with directions in a language that doesn't look too intelligible. Overall though, all their shit regardless of complex peg and hole items and jibber jabber directions last through a couple of moves and end up being worth what you pay for it. PROS * Modern decor at reasonable prices. * Hot dogs & Soft serve ice cream are yummy and cheap as hell. * It's great for nerds who actually enjoy putting modular things together * It's a one-stop shop if you're a lazy decorator and need basic things. I don't get why people say Ikea stuff won't look good in suburban homes. Just cause you live in the burbs dont mean you have to buy from Pier 1. * Those dolly cart things are fun to ride on. CONS * Very crowded. * Everyone and their gramma will own the same stuff you do. * Terrible for people who have no patience and hate putting things together. * It's very DYI. You see what you like, you find it in the warehouse, you ring yourself up, you haul it home. The staff will help out with stock questions but that's probably about it. THINGS WORTH BUYING * Desks. They have a variety of table tops and legs that you can mix & match. * Storage units. Cute tin canisters and plastic container that are just as nice as the Container store but way cheaper. * Textiles. They have nice modern prints and curtains that are affordable. * Plants and pots. * Lighting. * Rugs. We found a nice neutral-colored one with nice texture for $150. But not all of it is nice. * Sheets, duvet sets. * All their kids stuff is cute * Kitchen stuff. My friend redid her kitchen and got the cabinet units from Ikea. It looks fabulous. THINGS NOT WORTH BUYING * Couches, some chairs. * Bookcases. If you have a lot of heavy books, the cases will sag. * Mattresses. Not comfortable. * Blankets, pillows. Overpriced. Go to Home Goods. Their decorative pillows however, are not bad. * Art section. Sure generic furniture is ok but art is one thing you should be selective about. TIPS * A trip to Ikea is never an in an' out experience. Be prepared to walk, even if you just go to the market place floor and not the showrooms. * It's more fun going with other people. You never know when you'll need someone else to help lift things. * In an effort to cut down on using paper/plastic bags, they will charge you 5 cents for bags. So either bring your own or be prepared to lug your shit in your hands. Again, having a friend is a good idea. * Having a big car is recommended. Otherwise they have twine so you can strap things to the trunk or roof. Master Boy Scout knot-tying techniques. * Go online, if you see things you like, check the stock at the Altanta store BEFORE you go. Sometimes I call the store to make sure. * Check out their "as is" section near the checkout. The worst Ikea location EVER! I bought a new sofa for my mom and scheduled it for delivery. The way you get large furniture pieces delivered is to write down a reference number - not an item number - and get it to the info desk rep who creates an order with the item number for you. Then you take it to the delivery desk. So what does the info desk rep do? He looks up the sofa using the reference number, doesn't ask what color I want for the sofa and arbitrarily picks a black sofa; the floor sample displayed a white sofa so I naturally assumed that the reference number will get me the right item. the delivery was made and I called back to inquire about an exchange - the call I made to Ikea took 30-40 minutes just to get connected and then I was told that I needed to come to the store to make the exchange. I went to the store location (45 minute drive from my home) to straighten this out in person and even agreed to pay another delivery fee to get the exchange taken care of. Why did I have to pay? Because they insisted that since I didn't double check the order (and find THEIR mistake) and I signed the paperwork saying that the order was correct, it's my responsibility to pay for another delivery. In order to deal with this with no hassle, I agreed to pay for the exchange delivery and added a few more items to the delivery. Why not? I'm paying for yet another delivery so I may as well make it worth the cost. Well, I was wrong! they delivered the new purchased items but did not pick up the wrong sofa and re-deliver the right sofa. It took me another 40 minutes to get in contact with customer service to report this error and I was told that the order didn't even go through. The right sofa wasn't even picked up at the warehouse so they schedule yet another pick up for yesterday and I'm told someone will call you at 4pm on Sunday to give you your 4 hour window for Monday delivery - no confirmation call, no 4 hour window, no delivery! So I call back again yesterday afternoon - 35 minute wait so I hung up and called back today - another 20 minute wait. I was referred to a department that deals with "escalated situations" and I'm told the sofa was out of stock for the Sunday delivery; that's why it was not picked up. Wow, really??? It's like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. This is the worst experience I've ever had at this Ikea location. I've shopped at Ikea many times and I've never had this kind of poor customer service. Customer support and satisfaction appears to be at the bottom of their priority list. Store staff appears to just fill the time instead of providing speedy and quality service to the customers as I endured a 1-hr 20 minute exchange process at the delivery desk on Saturday morning. And apparently, now the item is not in stock at the store location warehouse so they have to check the online distribution center to see if they can get this item to me. All due to the incompetence of the staff creating the order, the incompetent delivery order desk staff who couldn't get his $hit together and have the delivery made on the day that was scheduled. Now, the damn sofa is out of stock and they will have to order from the Central Distribution Center which will likely take 1 1/2 weeks. The worst part of this is that on the Ikea USA website, there's no place to file a complaint; only to call and wait like crazy for the same answers, "we apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience in waiting" or submit a single question about products or purchases. I will never shop at Ikea Atlanta again. The WORST. EVER. read more

Travel to Ikea on a Saturday or Sunday? Go patient, or don't go at all. There is so much to see. I catch myself walking around in a dreamlike daze bumping into other shoppers walking around in much same manner. Get in & out? No way! Why do you think they have a full cafeteria in the middle of the store? For folks like me, that need to refuel half way through the Ikea "experience" (and it is an experience). My Ikea experience also usually includes a visit back to exchange or return a purchase gone wrong. Half the time the item broke, was bought broken or was defective. The other half are regretted purchases while on an Ikea Swedish meatball high. I expect this is common, based on their number system return policy, and how easygoing, no questions asked the return process is. The trip back for the return is always eased with a $1 hot dog & a 50-cent coca-cola. If I didn't have to go back for the occasional return, then 5 stars would be in order. I appreciate Ikea's business plan, and think they overall run a pretty great show, selling furniture & home goods at fair, and reasonable prices, while creating a really fun and provoking shopping experience. Give it a go, but like I said; if you're at all claustrophobic, aim for a weekday. read more

Heinous. I shopped at the store when it first opened and all was fine. I actually enjoy putting together the furniture and for my purposes, although it's not the best quality, it's fine for the price. That is, if the parts are all there. I bought a dresser a few weeks ago and when I opened the boxes to build it, I realized (on step 20) that I was missing several pieces of wood. I did not have time to drive back to the store so called customer service where I waited on hold for a long time. Their first solution was for me to return to the store. Nope. Their second was to slow boat the pieces to me so that I would receive them in 5-7 business days. Also a no go. I asked to speak with a manager who said that he would escalate my concerns. Days later, nothing. No contact. I emailed for an update and was referred back to the store. I called multiple times and was put on hold for more than 10 minutes before I had to hang up. Very much not worth the hassle. Should have spent a little bit more money and dealt with a reputable company. read more

NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I have purchased many things from IKEA for my son's room and the office, and have never had a problem until now. I bought my toddler a bed this week and took a photo of the tag with my cell phone as I didn't have a pencil handy to write down the aisle and bin numbers. When we went downstairs to get our items we got the mattress and 2 boxes (marked 1 of 2 and 2 of 2). Upon getting home and putting the bed together I realized that there were no slats to hold the mattress up. Being too late to get back downtown I decided to just order them online. I went online and saw that they are "included in the price of this item, but packaged separately". At this point I called the store to see if I could bring my receipt in and pick them up the following day. I was VERY rudely told that it is NOT included in the price regardless of what it says online and that "if I had looked at the tag I would have seen that I needed to get another box" (which is, by the way in another aisle and named differently than the bed). I informed her that I had a photo of the tag and that the only numbers on it were for the pieces I had. At that point I was told "well, I can't help you them" and hung up on. I will NEVER shop here again, and will be sending a letter, copy of the page online, and my photo of the tag to corporate HQ. This is a shame, because while the quality of merchandise may not be great for my whole home, IKEA has been a great place for kid's stuff and office stuff until now. read more

The place is massive, so there is alot of walking involved so be rested up and ready to shop. The restaurant is a nice touch too. Love love love love love love love love love love IKEA! My boyfriend thinks it's weird how long I take in there when I'm not even buying furniture. But you can buy covers, picture frames, drapes, lights, everything you could ever think of in a home. If you're doing a whole room make over I suggest looking for the website and making yourself a list or you'll be like my friend who was so excited to be in Ikea for the first hour or so, then the third hour he was dreading his life, and the 5th hour he was like shoot me please. You are probably going to be really indecisive so it's nice to have a plan. You may also see a lot of couples here... it's fun to look for furniture and think what you would want in your house! It's probably more a girl thing though and guys get dragged along. I don't really care for the food here. People go crazy over the meatballs I just skip it. If you want some cheap furniture here is the place to get it. The service could be a bit better. I can normally not find anyone for any assistance. Return center is easy, and they do have a wall if you're missing some parts. But I was never missing anything every time I bought furniture. If I could give you any tip, just any tip at all... it's AVOID GOING ON A WEEKEND and if you really don't want to be by people... We purchased a kitchen in November, to be delivered in December before the holidays. I specifically asked if having it delivered that close to Christmas would be a problem, and they assured me it wouldn't be. So we settled on a date of December 23rd, when we could be home to receive the order. I got an email with confirmation that it was being shipped, and a second saying my delivery window was between 12-4 pm. So far so good. Then... 4:45 rolls around and still no word on the delivery, so I call Ikea, and spend 51 minutes on the phone trying to find out where my kitchen is. They inform me that because of the crazy holiday traffic, the truck is delayed, and will give me a call when they're ten minutes out. I'm upset, but at least find comfort in the fact they'll be here soon. Then... 8 pm becomes 9 pm, and then 10 pm... and they clearly aren't coming. SO I call Ikea again on Saturday, spend another 30 minutes on the phone with them, to be told the shipment was "delayed" and I would need to reschedule. So a day after my order didn't arrive, my order is now scheduled to be here on Thursday the 28th. No word from Ikea OR the delivery company about my original missed delivery, this was all information I had to seek out on my own. I'm currently on hold with the delivery company to find out WHY it wasn't delivered, and they told me "well it says it was changed to Thursday the 28th." Which is correct, but only because NO ONE ARRIVED ON SATURDAY TO DELIVER MY ORDER. This whole process has been a joke, and I wouldn't recommend Ikea Home Delivery Service to anyone. This was my first visit to an IKEA store and we ended up spending a few hours here. We started out eating lunch in the cafeteria- I liked that the food is more on the healthy side, the calories are displayed, and it's a quick and cheap lunch. I had the vegetable balls with mixed vegetables and a side of mashed potatoes.. We both got dessert. The food is good and it's cheap. After lunch, we wandered around the show room. There are a lot of neat items and toys, like a stuffed big bad wolf with a stomach compartment for the attached stuffed grandmother. We really enjoyed wandering around the showroom. Once we were finished with the showroom, we went downstairs to the marketplace to purchase the items we liked. From dishes to artwork, IKEA has it all, including the kitchen sink! I ended up buying two light summer comforters, one in king size and one in queen size, a couple of duvet covers, pillows, candles, an area rug and place mats. I just loved the selection and prices on the bedding. It was a great way to spend an afternoon in the air conditioning, since the weather outside was sweltering. read more

Ikea's built-it-yourself seems to extend to their total lack of customer service. My friend purchased a headboard/bed frame. It came with no hardware and no instruction manual even listing what she didn't get. Called the 800 number and was given an order number and told it would be waiting at the store. She called me since I live only 15 minutes away. Of course, it wasn't. First, they signage indicated that I should line up one place and no one would talk to me until I got to the front of that line --- then they told me I was in the wrong line and had to get a number and wait for another person in the same area. 45 minutes into the process, I was finally told that they would go in the back and get everything my friend needed. After 15 more minutes, I was told they had to "get it pulled from stock." I asked for the store manager since it was obvious that the "order" hadn't been waiting at the store. After another 10 minutes, someone handed me a small box with the missing parts and an assembly booklet. He said the store manager was gone, but he would get another "member of management." He didn't. Finally, he told me that no one was coming and insisted that "the manager" would call me this morning. NO ONE DID. Finally, in frustration, I called IKEA. After 20 minutes on hold, I was told to call a second 800 number. There, I have been on hold or talking to a call-center person who took another 10 minutes bofore letting me speak with anyone who has authority to fix anything. When I got thru, I was told that their "customer service department" had "blown up" and they apologized, but couldn't get me back in their store. Today, I finally made arrangements, order #213856104 to have it picked up. The last Ikea associate I talked to was Anthony. He was arrogant, condescending and I think if allowed, would have blamed me for everything that's wrong in the world. MY FAULT THAT YOU DIDNT PICK UP THE MATRESS! What's worse, all you had to do was make arrangements to have it picked up. Why the hours of phone calls, the promises made and NOT kept? Why?Well Ikea, thanks for making my shopping experience with you a dreadful experience. I'm sure you will want me to share this with everyone I know. After 7 Ikea associates, 3 1/2 hours on the phone during this week, NO ONE ever called backed, NO ONE EMAILED to confirm anything, NO COMPENSATION. How sad. Nov. 17th - My follow up with Ikea. I needed new kitchen cabinets. Ikea was a decent product and a couple thousand cheaper than anyone else. That being said I would rather have spent the extra money than to go through this process again. There is a huge disconnect between when they sell you the cabinets to when they are installed. IKEA hires out a contract company to come Measure and design and plan your kitchen. They were great. Very professional and punctual. They gave us the list of everything needed and sent it to IKEA for purchase which we did. No issues. The delivery company made a few automated phone calls to set up delivery. Doesn't work if it goes to voicemail. It asks you to press 1 for English. My voicemail isn't that smart so it didn't press anything and that's where the message ends. No call back number. The number it dialed from isn't available to call back. What now? Call IKEA. 3 calls and an hour and 45 minutes on hold before I get through for them to say I need to call delivery company for reschedule. I do. They say IKEA has to set that up. I call back. 48 minutes on hold. No answer. I give up IKEA. I'll buy someone else's cabinets. You win. If you plan on buying from them, make sure you are available to Answer the phone every minute of the day or you won't get your cabinets. read more

I went here with my boyfriend to grab a few things. Our overall shopping experience wasn't that bad because it's essentially a self serve furniture store. The free samples of cookies were a pleasant surprise. When we returned home we actually picked up a defected piece, but by the time we noticed we had already driven all the way home. Now that I have to drive 1.5-2.5 hours to get to one in either Charlotte or Atlanta, I don't frequent Ikea as much. 2012 Just spent 1,900 dollars on a bunch of furniture. My truck was almost sitting on its wheels. Although I think the stuff will look good in the office (wood that furniture is made from is super soft and gets dings in it very easily) , i cannot even express how horrible customer service was. I had three forklift style buggies, no one helps with anything. In the store you can never find anybody for help and if you do find someone then "it is not their department". I get that IKEA saves money by making you wonder around the store and get all your things, but I had a pretty big list of stuff. I was just needing a little help and no one was willing. I was checking out and asked the lady to call someone for assistance to get my stuff down to the car and she said "we don't really do that". Between that and a compilation of other things that were irritating me about this place, my BP was now really rising at this point. Finally I stop two IKEA employees and ask them for help: "please help me get my three buggies down to my car" The short of it was: "sir, we don't really do that...that is not how IKEA works" I had to tell him how it was going to work today. I finally talk one guy into helping me get my 3 carts onto the elevator but he refuses to help me take the buggies to my car. He says "there is a button over there push it and wait and someone will help you" I look at him like "I already have help...you". Now I am really fired up but for some reason I don't tell it like it is and I push the botton instead. I sit there like an idiot for what seems like 10 min (probably really 3 but time slows to a screeching halt when your pissed off) and finally I decide to move across the garage the three full buggies with probably 700lbs of stuff myself. Serious quad workout. Finally some other customer in the garage offers to help and I tell him no thank you, but he insists and literally help me put every last box (about 20 large heavy boxes) in my jeep. I thank and then vent to him about my IKEA experience and he states he had the exact same experience and I finally leave, never to return again. Update 2015: Customer service improvement? Maybe I just got the right people this time or maybe they have started telling their people how to be nice to customers. Not sure, but significant improvement from my last experience. So here I am on my way back b/c I need some inexpensive furniture for a cabin we purchased. I have been somewhat impressed with the way that the office furniture has held up. If you dont use it too much (ie - set a TV on top and leave it) then it functions pretty well. The desks that we purchased have a number of marks on the tops b.c the wood is sooo soft. Anyway, I purchased about 6000 dollars worth of kitchen items/cabinets and my service was much better. I had Kevin in the kitchen design area help me and he walked me all the way down to the cashier and actually helped the cashier figure out all the things I needed and then went over to the delivery guy and handed me off to him personally. Vast improvement. I thanked him profusely and remarked at how I was really dreading this experience but ultimately he made it as good as it could get. Now that the delivery showed up, there were a few things missing, but not a huge deal. I was able to get things straightened out at the store. If you were not a resident of ATL it would have been a fiasco to try and tell someone on the phone what was needed - So if you are out of state and purchasing a lot of things, be aware that it may be difficult to get missing parts. Anyway they were able to get my things in order so I am updating my experience to 3 stars. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Waited 1hr 4min to pick up a piece of furniture that I paid for. Was offered an ice cream cone to make up for the wait - what a joke. Never again will I ever return to Ikea! read more

Twenty five check-out stations, two open, ridiculous deep customer lines....not going back to IKEA!

After having come here a few more times and having eaten their delicious meatballs some more, I wanted to take the time to write a re-review as I think my first experience I may have run into exceedingly grumpy employees. I still haven't had a good IKEA experience and I still don't enjoy coming to this store as much as I do other IKEAs but it's had a few good things which I feel merit the addition of another star. To be clear, my star rating is not about their furniture, I think we can all agree that their furniture is awesome. We can also agree that their meatballs are fantastic and very much necessary to get you through the warehouse area. No, this review is about what this store offers in comparison with other IKEAs. In that vein, I think Meh, I've experienced better is as good a rating as I can give them. Pros: - Located in Atlanta proper. Many IKEAs I've been to have been located outside city limits where you had to drive way the hay out of city limits to BFE just to get your IKEA essentials. This being in Atlanta proper makes it a great location and far more convenient. - Parking is plentiful. Most IKEAs have a lot of parking but still, worth calling out as some of the ones I went to in northern California didn't and parking was a pain. Here it's pretty easy. - Huge store. Ok, this is both a good and a bad. Still, you get a lot of displays which is nice so you can see the furniture before you buy it. As far as having the energy to get through it, this is where those meatballs come in people! Cons: - Customer service is consistently rude. Issues we've had range from employees not knowing where something was and not taking the three seconds to help you look it up, to employees simply turning their back and walking away when asked if they can help. We had only one who even bothered to take the time to look on the computer to see if something was in stock. It felt like the most amazing customer service ever, in reality, it was just his job. As in like, the most basic function of his job. All in all though, it seems their main job function is to stand around talking to each other. - Poor crowd control. I get IKEA is busy, I've been to enough of them around the world to know that going on a weekend is a bad idea if you wanna avoid crowds. So this is not a complaint about crowds, it's about how this IKEA, knowing full well that it gets a lot of people, decided to build it's store in a way which seems to encourage bottlenecks and crowding. Example: You have returns, customer service and shipping all crammed into one corner of the store. This is just poor design leaving a huge group of people in one area while huge portions of the store are empty. - Stock: I NEVER find everything I'm looking for. The website will say that odds are good they have it in stock, but it never fails that at least one of the pieces I need is missing. Sad times and super annoying. This hasn't happened to me nearly as frequently at other IKEAs and I wonder if it's just that they have so much clientele coming through here or that their system isn't synced or I don't know what. This is the reason I've been so many more times, I have to keep coming back to get what I need but they didn't have last time. Thankfully they've never been out of meatballs though, that would be a real tragedy. - Delivery: Horrible, guys showed up looking "under the influence/out of it", didn't want to put things where I asked so I just had them leave it at the front door. Tons of attitude. Called to give feedback. Manager called back and mainly just defended his guys, didn't seem to really view anything I said as being an issue so it seems that this is normal/expected. If you get delivery, expect it to be a continuation of piss poor customer service and to have them leave things not where you want them. Frankly, as a 9 months pregnant woman alone, I did not feel safe with these guys in my house, take that how you will. Overall, I don't enjoy shopping here. I've been to IKEAs around the world and this is the worst one I've ever been to hands down. I still love their furniture and I really love the meatballs, but unlike other IKEAs I've dealt with, staff is rude and unhelpful and the stuff I'm coming for is frequently not available. So, not saying don't go, hell, I go often enough. Just know going in what to expect and plan accordingly. If you can't find a product, don't look for a person, look for the nearest computer terminal and search for it that way. If you do have to ask for help, don't expect to be treated well. Expect the eye roll and ignore, and if one person won't answer your question, look for another one and try again, repeat as necessary. If you come with these sorts of expectations you'll have a decent experience. Meatballs also help make you feel better about the whole thing, so much so I wonder if they put something in those things. Absolutely HATE this place. Get to the register and my stuff rings up 20 higher than the price was marked. So we get pushed to the side while everybody else gets checked out. Buying overpriced, cheap crap shouldn't be such a hassle. read more

An employee in the kitchen area typed in the wrong color for a countertop I was buying. I waited a long time at furniture pick-up to get my counter (typical here) and luckily, I noticed the error before driving home. Mistakes happen so that is not what prompted the bad review. It was how it was handled that frustrated me. I had to wait in the long return line and was treated like complete dirt by the lady working in returns. She was rude, impatient, and talked down to me. After that extensive wait, I had to rebuy the right counter & wait in the furniture pick-up line again. After a few hours at Ikea, I finally got my correct counter. Nobody was available to help put it in my trailer. I guess I should look in the bright side.....I got a heck of a lesson in patience and I got a good workout loading a 98" counter into my trailer by myself. read more

I believe Jonathan Coulton put it best in his song about ikea. It's amazing how many flat packs I can fit in the trunk of my small car with the seats folded down, seriously. I managed to spend under $100 on my last trip, amazing. Wait, over $100 if you count lunch. I'm a sucker for the pretty paper napkins and I got a new computer chair for $39. read more

Horrible customer service! Purchased a kitchen and had the worst experience with installation company. Ikea uses one company that subcontracts to local contractors to do installation. If you do not use them, Ikea will not honor the 25 year warranty. Problem with installation company which ended up with installers walking off the job. Never showed up one first day and late on day 2. Ikea does not care for their customers or puts them first! Made numerous calls to corporate office. Finally a response and defended installation company. The entire company has bad attitudes toward customers! Wake up Ikea! read more

I was extremely disappointed in my experience with this store and corporate today. An item was not priced in the store and turned out to be double what the same named item was on their website. Manager Ashely seemed too busy to deal with my complaint. In my first call to corporate I was hung up on because they were too busy. On my second call they were dismissive. Didn't even take my contact info. I was told to do a survey, and was sent there, but that survey only rated my experience with the lady I spoke with on the phone, not my overall poor experience with this store and corporate Customer Service. The second star is for the cashier who rang me up. She was very polite. It's unfortunate she doesn't receive any support from management or corporate. If an item is going to have different price points, those price points show either have different names or it should be clearly noted on the website so I don't waste 30 minutes waiting in one of the 2 lines you had open for the 50 customers waiting in line. read more
