I love a lot of things about Ikea, but today I'm giving it one star for the poor management of Covid 19 shopping, especially for their lack of accessibility for those of us with physical challenges. I got to the store right as it opened, hoping not to have to wait in the long line that had been there during two previous attempts to shop. The long line was still there, even though the store is huge and they had in no way exceeded capacity. If that wasn't bad enough, no one monitored their line. They had ropes set up to herd shoppers, with 6 foot markings throughout, but then entrance to the line connected to a "dead end" in the ropes, so instead of following the path, people had extended the line, themselves, around the back of the building. I parked in handicapped parking to limit my walking and still had to walk twice the length fo the store before I even got to the door. The item I had come for was in the area right before the checkout stands, but they had blocked off the shortcuts, requiring me to first go upstairs, then walk downstairs (something that is torturous on my knees), and then again, snake through the entire store! There were a lot of people in line to check out - I'd guess around 32. For those 32 people, they had only 4 lanes open! Again, we had to stand in lines and snake around. This is the most inaccessible store! When I could walk, I used to love wandering through just to shop, but my perspective has definitely changed. Ikea, you can, and should, do better for your handicapped guests. read more

Rude employees (all three times we had to go back to fix our order--even the customer service manager.) Delivery was a day late-- even though the website said it was still set to be delivered, no phone call, nothing. There is no way to get ahold of anybody to ask a question--it's a maze of recordings. When it was finally delivered, it was missing items. Because there is no way to call anyone, we had to drive up there to try to reconcile things. Apparently The items that were missing, five of the six shelves we ordered for the inside of a cabinet, were out of stock. They had decided to just refund our money (which still hasn't hit our account) and send us one shelf instead of six... How the hell are you supposed to build a cabinet with only one out of six shelves? Why can't somebody call or email or text? Especially if you're missing items or are going to be days late delivering . Poorly run. Rude employees. You are not saving enough money to make any of the bullshit worthwhile. STAY AWAY!!! read more

It's where you go to get furniture for cheap. Depending on what you buy, you might get something that will last. You really can't beat the selection and prices. Yes you have to haul it and put it together. But the money you save is well worth it. And thankfully I have a girlfriend that likes to put this stuff together. And while you are there you might as well get some meatballs. Make sure you order extra lingin berry's. read more

In the market to fancy up the home? Got a couple hours? Come here! This place is huge and should not be attempted if you're running short on time. Go when you're not on a schedule and you have time to just mosy. Heck. You can even go hungry because they have a cafe inside. I've never tried it but it looks quite appetizing. They have everything you would need for your home from couches to picture frames and spatulas. Most of the furniture comes in a box to which you (have your husband) assemble at home. When you first enter, there is a daycare to drop the kids off at- not sure if there's a charge. Then you go up the escalator to the showroom. Before you go up though grab a pencil and paper to make notes on. Each piece of furniture/ most items have numbers you need to write down. These correspond to their location in the warehouse. After you are done looking through the massive showroom, it leads you to the warehouse. Here you find your item and then go to checkout. I've heard that ikea is known to have "cheap" furniture. Well, I'd like to call it inexpensive. Not everything is, some items are still kinda pricy but you can find some amazing deals in here. read more

I love this store. It's fun to look around even if you don't have anything in mind that you want to buy. I think some things are overpriced and other things are good deals. It's nice that they have a food court type thing half way through in case you're hungry. The food isn't too bad and it is pretty cheap. I love the as-is section and I usually find things that aren't really damaged but for cheaper than in the store. read more

Walk through the maze that is IKEA and you'll be amazed at the wonderful ideas displayed. Try to duplicate them though and you'll end up frustrated and angry. Okay, maybe it's just me who has a hard time with instructions and allen wrenches...but I doubt I'm alone in my allergy to screwdrivers. An awesome place, but do not go on Saturday or Tuesday if crowds bother you. Saturday speaks for itself, but Tuesday is "kids eat free" day and you can tell the difference. You can't get in the restaurant on Tuesdays. Other than that it is a good place to spend some time and get ideas. The store has fair prices and good quality. We have purchased several furniture items for our basement remodeling project. Be prepared to "do it yourself" in the shopping and assembly of items. It is difficult to get help from the employees. If you know what you want, learn about and use the short cuts through the store or you will be in there for many hours. read more

Just plain horrible service. My wife and I drove 700 miles to pick up an IKEA kitchen. The local kitchen staff were actually helpful. The problem arose when they told me my kitchen cabinets were available when in fact they were not. I was able to purchase most of my kitchen but I am now facing another 700 mile round trip (both ways) to pick up four parts. IKEA will not allow me to talk to any local staff. They will not confirm that the parts are there. They suggested I drive the 700 miles and then discover if the parts are available and then consider if I want to do another 1400 mile trip to finish my kitchen. I am regularly shunted to a Maryland call center that refuses to help. I do like IKEA products but I can't tolerate or work with A system that refuses to talk to me or address my concerns. read more

whenever i go to ikea i think about 500 days of summer. love that movie! this place is great if you need furniture that you don't plan on having forever and is budget friendly. or even furniture for children when they don't appreciate nice things when they're young. i temporarily need a bed for a few months so i came here to find something! the service is always good and there are always people asking if they can help you with anything. i am not a big fan of grabbing your own furniture, but i can understand that's what makes it budget friendly. if only i was stronger and could carry everything myself! check out is always long, but at least you can smell the cinnamon rolls while waiting =) read more

Today is probably the last day I will ever shop at Ikea. Rude and completely inept customer service! I needed a simple matress for my futon (I already had a frame) and the worthless employee at the self serve station did know or even tried to look up what I needed. He said go upstairs to ask in the department. (Of which I was trying to avoid due to the unending Labrinrh of show cases. I was forced to go upstairs to the gauntlet and wasted my precious time to only get a simple code that the guy downstairs could have looked up. The show room is rediculously ubsurd and is impossible to get through with out being forced to go down their miandering path. Even the quote "shortcut" was excessively long and aimless. BS Ikea! Respect people's time and train your people better! Either that or get some monkeys...I'm sure they would be more pleasant! read more

I have been to this IKEA several times and have learned to hate it. Don't get me wrong, the place has loads of very cool stuff at great prices. My issue is with the lack of staff to man the checkout counters. On average, less than 50% of them are open at any given time and the lines are long and slow. .. Torture.. read more

I enjoyed my stroll through ikea. They had a lot of cool decor and accessories and it made me want to go home and throw everything away and start all over. Long a favorite of mine, IKEA offers a wide variety of modern furniture and decor items. However, the worst part about this location is that there are ALWAYS horrendous lines. They have 17 check stands, but I am yet to see more than six open, even during the holidays. Today, four were open with each line going far into the self-serve section. I would prefer they have 5 which are always open, than tease me with 17 and only open 4. Please don't make me work so hard to give you my money. Several check stands even have been completely blocked by merchandise returns. This shows that even they know there is little chance of them opening them. I love your products, but ordering online is much easier than standing in your lines. read more

Well, here I go again! I clicked on some stupid thing and lost my entire review! I went for years without even going in IKEA, let alone shop there! I had long ago determined it had all junky, cheap built furniture that would not qualify to be in my house! One day, I finally stopped to go in and what a day! I took the elevator to the top and looked around. Then I looked around again and again and again! Yep! I was lost and could not for love nor money find my way out! I spent hours in there and when I finally did get out, I swore I would never go back. As I recall, I was hyperventilating, short of breath, panicked, full of anxiety and in general, a nervous wreck! Besides, I was sure the furniture, cabinetry, beds, chairs, everything would not hold a nail, let alone hold my prized possessions! CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP, JUNK, JUNK, JUNK! Well, one day I suggested to my husband of 55 years, that we go to IKEA so he could savor the same experience I had. Off we went but this time, we did go with a purpose. We needed a media cabinet to hold all of our VHS tapes, CD's, DVD's and a few miscellaneous pieces. We took the elevator to the top and I couldn't help but laugh inside thinking it would be no time until he had us lost again. My husband took the lead and we went straight to the department to find a media cabinet. SAY WHAT???They had a lot of them and good grief, had we gone to the wrong store? This furniture was very well built, sturdy, and gorgeous. We found the perfect media cabinet and it held everything we needed to move off of our beautiful floor to ceiling, 1 1/4 walls bookcase and it was black like we needed, sturdy, beautiful glass in the double doors, would be secured to a wall, and we added one shelf which we also bought there. I couldn't be happier and we have tons of compliments on it. Well, my apologies to IKEA for thinking the worst, especially before I could even bring myself to enter their cheap doors! I am now looking for a small table or cabinet that will hold our new Victrola that we received for Christmas from our family members. If I didn't know better, I might say it came from IKEA because it is beautiful, well built and does everything we want it to! The odd part is having to eat all of those degrading words I used in the beginning to describe IKEA! Yes, we are going back to IKEA as soon as they reopen after New Year's and I am not leaving without a stereo cabinet that will hold all of my vinyl records from many years. Do I recommend IKEA? I absolutely do and whatever you do, just look around carefully for the exits if you go alone and are not geographically inclined like myself! Thank you IKEA for being a fabulous store and for having my taste in many things you sell! By the way, my two married grand-daughters shop IKEA a lot and my daughter is going to go there for some items she needs as well. I am so glad I found out how wrong I was and so thankful for the things IKEA stocks; plus if I'm lucky, they won't figure out who I am and kick me out the next time I go there! They have a wide range of home decor. There is something for everyone. Sometimes the price ranges seem a bit off. Some things are so cheap and then you find a few random things that are over priced. This would be my go to place for certain items, but not things like couches, sheets, or bed spreads. It is hard to find someone to help you, so make sure that you look online first and use a map if you are coming for something in particular. Otherwise its a great place to find a diverse amount of bed, bath and home supplies. read more

This is more for the online experience. I ordered a dresser, scheduled it to be delivered and sat back excited for it to come. The "track your order" site says that is arrived at the delivery facility on 7/23. I had scheduled it to be delivered on 7/24 and it didn't arrive. It still hasn't arrived, and I haven't heard from the delivery center... and there is no information on how to contact them. I tried to email, facebook message, facebook and have not heard back. The standard email form will not let me submit a request, because I do not have a problem reference number, and the customer service line states that "all circuits are busy, please call back later"... I have tried for 3 days straight. I has been a week and I have not heard anything back. Local IKEA website states the 888 number for all customer service issues... dialed in 0000 for four digit extension and finally talked to a nice human. She tried to connect me to a "customer resolution person", it rang and rang and they were not there, so she tried again. I was connected to kitchen installers voicemail. I am so frustrated. Out money and I can't seem to find anyone to talk to about when or if I will be receiving the dresser. Ordering online seems to be like jumping in to a black hole of unresponsiveness. Shopping at the store is great, but I will never trust Ikea online! read more

Love coming here! Love the showrooms and the inspiring ideas I always see. Love the prices and the small boxes so I can get it home in my car. Bought an awesome alarm clock today that rotates and tells time, temperature, is a timer, and alarm! It is so cool lights up different colors and was under $5! In the "I don't want it bin" at the cash register, I saw a glass coffee press, among other items people in line were shuffling through. I reached in and grabbed it and cut my thumb pretty bad. I am a barber by profession so this cut has seriously hurt my ability to do my job until it heals. A store that deals with broken items a lot, should know better than to leave broken items out where they know people are constantly handling them. read more

I have been an IKEA fan for many years....living in California & now in Utah. I just can't figure out why the Draper location is so crazy messed up. There are, what seems like 15 check out lines, but there are only two (maybe three) open at any given time. There are loads of employees walking around, but you can never find a helpful person. Today I went in to return one item. Took my number (#83). The girl was helping #82 so I thought..."this should be quick!". Seriously.....after TWENTY MINUTES.....no lie / no exaggeration....& her helping other miscellaneous people waiting, I am finally called up to return my one $9.00 item. It's really too bad that customers aren't super important, because they're the ones that help keep the shop open. Even though IKEA has inexpensive, unique items....I'm thinking that next time I'll be doin' my shopping at the Target. At least when you return at Target they can usually get you in & out in +/- 5 minutes.....because they can use their radios to call for back up!! read more

Just like any other ikea, the lines can get really long. It's like the on only have 2-3 checkers. It's also really annoying when you buy tons of kitchen stuff and they don't have bags. I get I should bring my own, I always forget but it's still frustrating they can't provide small bags for little stuff. Not everyone who goes buys a table. read more

If you see it in their warehouse, you like it and can drive it home, then Ikea is a great place for cheap furniture. But don't ever, ever order it or have them deliver it. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. They will not take orders for things they don't have in stock and usually have no idea when they are getting them. And they will take orders for delivery and then later, after the item was supposed to be delivered, send you an impersonal note that the order has been cancelled because they are out of stock. There is no attempt to let you know when they will get more in and might be able to finish the order. So now, if you ordered a set, you have a partial order and have to return what they did deliver because you don't have the full set required to put it together. Any you wait on hold for hours trying to get ahold of anyone on their customer service line, or sometimes, the recording tells you they are swamped and just call back later. Anyhow, customer service is terrible, terrible, terrible!! read more

I made the mistake of wandering into IKEA to kill some time between Dr appointments. Considering I was starving I opted to have breakfast there. I chose the Swedish pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, and potatoes. The Swedish pancakes got topped with this nasty red goop they tried to pass off as jam. The eggs were in a ball, scooped with an ice cream scoop, the home fried potatoes were tasteless, and the sausages were mushy. My breakfast came with a coffee. And like the rest of my breakfast, disgusting. With all the reviews about the meatballs I wish I had the option of trying them. Then to add insult to injury I had to walk a maize to get out. Seriously. Worst hour in a shopping center ever. Food bad and surrounded by messy cheap furniture. The good news is it cost $3 and so throwing away 2.75 isn't to bad right? read more
