Shoutout to my fellow Elite friend Eric B. for writing a review on IKEA recently and reminded me that I needed to do the same! If you're looking for decent furniture without breaking the bank, then IKEA is your place. I have memories of visiting the one in southern California when I was a kid. I loooved going there because they have a kid zone where kids can play while their parents shop. It was honestly one of my favorite places haha. Now as an adult, it is still one of my favorite places, but for a different reason. This past visit, I was on the search for a new desk. My desk that I had at home was falling apart and barely held together. It was time to get a grown up desk, again, without breaking the bank. IKEA lets you wander through cute setups to help you visualize what you're looking for. Sometimes, I wish I could live in these setups because they do them so well. We made it to the desks area and I found the perfect desk for me and for my space! We took a photo of the tag so when we made our way down to the warehouse we would be able to find it. Once you are done walking through everything, you pour out into the warehouse where you find the item you're looking for. For me, mine was in a more difficult spot to get to, so basically I had to ask an employee to give me an order form for it. I had to pay at the counter and then I had to go to another pickup spot. I loved how they set this up, because it's literally on the screen and it will pop up and say ready when it's your turn to grab your items. We maybe waited about 10-15 minutes for them to get my desk. The star off is of course for the directions. Man, IKEA, can you pleaaaase update your directions for building furniture?! It really is awful. It took my husband about 4-5 hours to build my new desk, but we eventually figured it out with only a few fights (LOL) and now my desk is perfect! IKEA is not the place for luxurious furnishings, but if you're looking to while away the hours strolling through showroom after showroom and discovering unique and often useful items then this is the place for you. You'll pass through numerous sections (dining, bedrooms, etc) and see numerous rooms decorated and furnished top to bottom in items sold in the store. If you want a larger item or furniture, take a note of its tag and write down its warehouse location or snap a picture with your phone to find it later. They have a large section of household goods, kitchen items, lighting, and even live plants. They have tons of useful items for home organization as well. They have a large cafeteria as well featuring a selection of American and Swedish dishes including the famous Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam. Just before you leave the store at the very bottom they have a small section of packaged and frozen food items you can take home as well, but a lot of these items were sold out on our recent visit. A must try is their "princess cake" when it's available! After you pass through the showrooms and the areas where you can put smaller small items in your shopping cart, you'll enter the warehouse where you hopefully wrote down or photographed the location of the furniture items you want. Large items are here in flat cardboard boxes. Make sure you match up the item number so you have the correct item and color. Also be careful as some larger items actually involve two cardboard boxes for one item. These can be heavy, so be careful. They now have self checkout lanes if you prefer that. All major credit cards are accepted. Yes, the items require assembly requiring basic tools (hammer, screwdriver, etc.). You can buy a set of all the required tools at the store if you don't have them. Installation is usually pretty simple with detailed instructions. Having a helper is good for bigger items. Quality actually is decent for the price even though most items are particle board. You can find a variety of styles from country to very modern. Best experience at an IKEA! I love their products but the reason they're so affordable is because you're kind on your own when it comes to finding what you need, to assembly. However this trip I was pleasantly surprised when Jolly in the living room section helped us design a Besta TV wall unit. Then again at check out, all lines except the self checkout were closed and an associate noticed we had a lot of items and offered to open a register just for us. Then we get to the loading dock and a different associate asks if we need help loading our massive purchase into our car. From start to finish it was the best IKEA experience we've ever had! Now let's just hope I'm able to assemble this thing! read more

Great to get little useful things that I can pack in my suitcase. But I'm sure if I had an IKEA near me I would buy the big things too! Great place to get ideas and have lunch! Wow, I haven't been to an IKEA in several years. I forgot how easily you can get lost (in a good shopping way) in this store. There are so many practical, useful everyday items that you can snag for your own home. We probably spent a good two to three hours here, and that was just covering half the store. I'm looking forward to going back and spending more time in the home organization department as it seemed like they had a lot of good ideas and products to help keep our home clutter free. The self-service area to find your furniture is spacious and easy to follow. I also appreciated all the kiosks available to help you find any particular item your IKEA heart desires. My favorite part of that trip though was the cafeteria! The entrees, desserts and meatballs were delicious and very reasonably priced. Definitely looking to come back to try different things on their menu. Their carts that hold the trays for you were so cool! read more

I have friends that rave and rave about ikea. I have been curious for years what all the fuss is about so decided to check it out for myself. This place is MASSIVE. You can get a weeks worth of steps in walking around here! We started at the Cafe because everyone talks about how amazing Ikea Swedish meatballs are. I'm sorry, these are NOT Swedish meatballs. Not even close. NOT good. HORRIBLE meatballs, gravy was aweful (it was so runny they may as well have put water on my plate). Mashed potatoes not good. The broccoli potato cake thing was edible but not great. These things are suppose to be hot when served to you, everything was cold. Meatballs were tiny. They had no flavor. The lingonberry sauce would have prob been good on them if they didn't skimp hard-core. The sodas are not normal sodas they aren't good either. The blueberry marscapone cake was really good though. It wasn't overly sweet and was moist. Everything is cheap, so maybe that is why people like it. Costco's food court is way better. The cart thing they have for the trays is cool. After walking around this store I honestly do not get it. I came, I saw, I tried the food, I will not be back. You go from cheap stuff to ridiculously high cheaply made junk. What is up with having to take down numbers and go look it up at the end? May as well shop from a catalog, it makes zero sense. The only reason we spent like 2 hours here is the signs are so dang confusing, it's like a maze. We got turned all around and the employees we asked kept giving us wrong directions. If the employees don't know either that isn't good! If there was an emergency it'd be a nightmare trying to find the way out. I personally rather make REAL Swedish meatballs. I'll always come to ikea for my house items. Love all their organized selections especially with someone who has OCD. So much variety in one section, it's so hard to choose. There's only one location here in Vegas and this is in the Southwest. I came here with my dad cause I know he's been waiting for a dresser that has been out of stock. Which is a great thing because if you ask ikea to notify you of an item that's back in stock, this literally was accurate and has 5 in stock. Everything for this visit was great until my check out process. If you do get an item in Aisle 24 for dressers or big items you'll need to sign a waiver form to enter. So you show it at check out. My cashier name was Alyssa. She has a masked on and was speaking to me behind the plexiglass, which is hard to hear as she was speaking so softly as well. Ikea has a Memorial Day sale going on if you spend over $250 you get $25 off. Anyways, I had to ask a few questions to make sure I understood the deal and throughout the whole time I'm asking to have her repeat or I go up closer to her. She then says, "could you move away, you're all up in my space". Totally shocked the way she has asked as I'm looking like I want to tell her off, but of course I had my dad with me so I need to keep my cool. It's COVID times right now. I get it! I'm all about masking even if mask mandates are over. Numbers are rising again. But as an employee and with that attitude, I did not appreciate it at all. There are nicer ways of saying things. And if you already see me constantly asking you to repeat yourself and you ain't speaking up or coming forward, then I would r know how else to hear you. This place is great for all your needs. IKEA on IKEA Way off of the 215 on Sahara is a complete "entertainment" venue (you can spend hours shopping, having a meal, shopping and yes, more shopping)! Have an IKEA Card...save 5% on your purchases and enjoy a variety of Membership perks. We entered this Home Store and went right for the Eatery within. Cafeteria style...inexpensive, good tasting food w/the ability to take home, if you purchase extra or just can't finish what you ordered. Value...not haute cuisine is the theme here. In that frame of mind...the offerings are tasty. Best I've ever had? No...but the cost of feeding 2 or 4 people, a lot less than going to a restaurant. We selected Shrimp Salad w/Dill (4/5) Taste and flavor: very good...but the Shrimp was not as "firm" as I would have preferred. Side Salad (4/5), Meatball Plate (4/5), Stand alone - Meatballs (3/5). Again, the taste was good but the texture was "softer" than I would have preferred. Stand alone - Veggie Medallion Cakes (5/5), Chocolate Oat Ball/Pastry (5/5) **Note: Remember..."value" of cost, to food quantity and taste is great. Is it gourmet - no! After we completed the meal we started on the second floor to view the merchandise. I love IKEA because the store has it's displays actually set-up as "home rooms/scenes" so you can get a real "feel" for how the items would look in your home. FABULOUS! Yes, there is everything under the sun you would pick to furnish or accessorize your house. I will admit getting "help" from an Associate is difficult (loss of 1 Star), but when ever you are "checking-out"...the Associates are informative and friendly. The "food court" per say, located at the exit area, has some very inexpensive treats for members...and since membership doesn't cost anything, it's definitely worth signing up. We ended the visit with the purchase of 2 black Table Lamps and several specialty Light Bulbs. Nice! With the discount automatically given to IKEA Cardholders, the bill was just $100 dollars. I'm glad to say IKEA helped furnish our home with cost effective items, that were easy to build, weren't bulky and easy to move. Easy to navigate throughout the store and honestly I enjoy IKEA. They have great furniture that fit nicely within apartment complexes and still do the job for every day use. They have been durable so far and I love the simple designs so they are easy to decorate around. No pieces were missing and they don't excessively pack up the items within their boxes. read more

Once you go up that escalator, there's no turning back. To exit the store, you'll have to walk the entire course. This can be expedited by learning the shortcuts displayed on the store map. After looking at all the floor models for dressers and chests of drawers, I chose the six-drawer Malm in the natural wood color ("White stained/oak veneer"). Unfortunately, they were out of stock. I asked a store employee when it might be restocked. He looked in the database and told me it was being discontinued. Yet, the floor model is still there. It is still listed on the website, but shows that it is out of stock. As a similar alternative, I chose the six-drawer Songesand in brown. With its addition of handles, along with a richer color and wood pattern, this unit conveys the look of classic furniture, making it more elegant than my original choice. The "Click and Collect" process went smoothly. I received a text notification when my order was ready for pickup. Upon parking in one of the designated pickup spaces, I clicked the link in the text message to check in. A few minutes later, a store employee wheeled out the boxes and asked for the last four digits of my order number. The next step was to assemble the furniture. The initial challenge was opening the box. The side flaps were glued too strongly to undo by hand. Fortunately, I did a query on the internet for a method, and the top recommendation was to use a salad knife, which worked perfectly. Assembling the chest of drawers was not hard, just time-consuming. It can mostly be completed by one person, though there were two steps where I needed another person for assistance to guide parts into place. The next item I chose was a horizontal Kallax shelf unit with four inserts. The natural wood color was only available by delivery. Thus, I had to purchase the item separate from the chest of drawers, which I ordered for pick up. Hence, two consecutive transactions through the website. The desk that I want is out of stock. The website gives no indication of when it will be restocked. Prior to making my purchase, I decided to become an IKEA Family member by creating on online account through the website. Subsequently, a new member discount of $25 was applied to my first purchase. The grocery section and bistro are conveniently located just inside of the exit, and not far from the entrance. Menu items are surprisingly inexpensive. I'm happy that they have vegan options in the form of veggie and plant-based versions of their hot dogs and signature meatballs. I also like the upstairs restaurant with its panoramic window view of the nearest mountains. It is cafeteria style, and a good spot for a quick meal with a group of any size. read more

Their showroom is unbelievably huge, which is good because it showcases their furniture. The down part is that you can get lost and to exit is really confusing. Every visit we always end up having to walk around in circles and get lost. They have a good amount of furniture for living room, kitchen, bedroom and home decor however from my point it can be expensive esp for a small sectional that can range from $1000-$1200. Their office collection is my downfall lol. Reasonable price for desks and office chairs. Also reasonable price for kitchenware. read more

Husband and I are in nesting mode with newest addition to our family coming soon. We decided to come to Ikea to walk around and be "inspired." We had no real intention to buy anything since Ikea isn't necessarily the best place for deals, quality, or style to be honest. If you want deals, there are many discount stores and the internet. Plus ever since the COVID pandemic, it's a known fact that supply and demand have changed drastically with production, shipping, demand. Ikea has fallen victim as well and it shows in its increased prices. If you want quality, mass produced items from developing countries won't really be top of the line. And if you want style, Ikea is probably more known for a modern look that is meant to conform and sell to the masses. The last time I really bought something from Ikea was when I was a college student, trying to buy items to furnish my dorm. But it was entertaining walking through the giant warehouse this time around. The top floor is the fun floor, with all the designs and play rooms set up. And there's also a food section upstairs. We happened to come on a cloudy day, so the giant windows were very inviting. We decided to stop for a snack so that we'd have an excuse to sit by the giant windows. We ordered the Swedish meatballs and chicken tenders. The meatballs were surprisingly flavorful. They came with mashed potatoes and overboiled veggies. The chicken tenders were surprisingly juicy and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. They came with bland fries and also overboiled veggies. Overall, we killed time at Ikea, and it was fun walking through the second floor, imagining how we might furnish our home. As expected, we made no nonedible purchases. read more

Visited IKEA today for the first time ever to browse around a bit & check out their inventory. The store is huge and sometimes you feel as though you're walking through a maze. But the upside is the bigger the store the bigger the selections they have to choose from. I recently purchased a really nice couch for my loft. Came here for the KALLAX shelf unit and left with the KNORVA hat and STORSTAMMA bag. The cube-sized storage units are flying off the shelves like hotcakes! Everyone wants to organize and/or reorganize, including me! The need to get my closets together is the first order of business. The KALLAX (4 cubes x 2 rows) measures at 30-3/8"H x 57-7/8"W x 15 3/8"D. Inserts are 13x13". Price is $68.99. There is a wide variety of insert designs, some wicker-type, cloth, or plastic. I chose the KUGGIS plastic boxes for $9.99 each. Once the reopening date was announced on June 3rd, the line to enter has been pretty long at times. And don't think you're lucky if there is no line out front. There are long lines to exit and pay! I've always liked the look of IKEA. Their furniture just has a clean look to it. I really like the storage solutions they have. I purchased a dinning table from them and it was a little small. I felt like I was sitting at a kids table. LoL. So not everything great there but they still have lots of awesome furniture. It's so easy to spend hours in there just looking at all the cool things they have. I don't know what happened to this place but their stock is LOW. I tried to build 3 tv cabinets and 3 storage units. They didn't have all the parts so I bought what they had and just kept checking the web site for new shipments. LOL. I do love the Besta series. You can customize it in so many ways and putting the glass top on it makes it look really nice. The cafeteria may be closed but you can still get meatballs downstairs near the checkout. I have been to IKEA in Las Vegas many times and it is obvious to me that this store has changed a lot (for the worse). No one seems to care about how dirty or messy the store looks like. No price tag in many items. No one to help. I was there this past weekend (last Saturday), and at the end when I was paying a message appeared on the screen (self check-out is the only option available now) saying that I was randomly chosen to have an IKEA employee scan some of the items I had just scanned to make sure everything was scanned. No problem. Four days later, I went back to IKEA to get a couple of things I had forgotten and to exchange a coupe of items as well. The same thing again... I was selected again to go through the same procedure. After the employee scanned a few items I asked why this happened to me twice in four days. I asked if IKEA was profiling people. No answer. Perhaps IKEA is making so much money that they don't mind losing a customer. However, a customer can mention this horrible procedure to so many other people and then it will not only be one customer but several other people not shopping at IKEA anymore. read more

I heard so many things about the Ikea food court from many different people at work so I decided to give it a try. I had the meatballs along with the salmon. Both the meatballs and the salmon tasted like they were frozen but were not bad. I also had the cookie which tasted like something you get from Costco. After lunch we decided to look at the store. If you're not familiar with the store you will get lost. I think they used that as some sort of trick to keep you in the store longer. After we finally found the exit, we saw there was a snack bar featuring very cheap food. Hot dogs and cinnamon rolls for a dollar each. They also had interesting sodas that I did not try. We decided to give the vegetarian hot dog and a cinnamon roll a try. The vegetarian hot dog was not bad and if you did a blind taste test you probably wouldn't know it was vegetarian. The cinnamon roll tasted Frozen and it was loaded with icing. read more

The last time we here here, we had to ship stuffs back home. But this time because we are on a budget we were very careful, haha not me. I went over on the shower curtain cause they were only a $1.00 when back home even at R**s is $4-$5. I couldn't resist. i used to love ikea. got a 4 drawer NORDLI ($150) for my closet, everything assembled correctly and it was SO wobbly. the whole thing was connected with keyholes relying on the wall mount to keep it sturdy. even the drawers were uneven. drove 45 minutes back and got a full return. instead i tried a 6 drawer STORKLINTA ($250), this one worked out fine. i then finish building my ALEX ($100) drawers to see the particle board cracked on the side i wanted to display. no power tools were used (which takes much longer). i would take it back if i hadn't already put so much effort into this. i never used to have a problem with ikea and have multiple pieces of furniture from them, but recently it's been an awful experience. the cheap materials are not reflected correctly with the prices that are set. read more

My guy and I recently combined households, so a visit to IKEA was required to investigate our options for storage. Two people with full homes, now in one, equals a whole lot of extra stuff. I can (and have) walked around IKEA for hours just to browse the cozy and efficiently-used staged spaces but this most recent visit had actual goals- and thankfully our home is now a happy harmony due in large part to purchases and design inspiration found here. I am most excited about the 8 drawer Hemnes dresser we are using as an entertainment stand- putting it together was a solid couples bonding activity for us, armed with thirty pages of photo directions and a screw driver. It took about 5 hours and looks SO good and everything is working well. I am eyeing the matching night stands as our next purchase. The line goes well with our existing decor while adding storage. Other items here I really like are the Lack tables (coffee table and end table size) that I've used in college and apartments. Best IKEA store on the West? I think so. Exterior & interior. Recycle bins available for trash & bottles before entering front entrance. Absolutely not stressful and the cars can park anywhere in the huge parking lot spaces. It felt like the ones in Sweden & Finland where you've got lots of land. Location is a winner. New homes are continuously being built in the surrounding areas. Easy and simple. Very clean and organized inside. Spacious food court upstairs for foodies. Layout looks a bit like the one in Palo Alto, California, but minus the crowds. People here looked like locals who live in the newly developed new homes neighborhoods. Very new piece of land with lots of potential on corner of Durango and Sunset. Access to freeway and distance to other places not far. Highly visible from freeways. Customer service excellent. Staff friendly. It's not a zoo or chaotic inside like most other places. Decent working class people here. Quiet for sure. Green salad $1.99. Grab as many salad dressings as you desire. Combo chocolate desserts with the strawberry shortcake was $3.29. Food tasted ok, good enough to enjoy like other IKEA spots. Loving it. Tables and chairs very new and clean. Who doesn't want a stress free IKEA in the neighborhood? Efficient place. I really like the experience here. Yes, we will come by to buy stuff next time. Great environment. IKEA is sorta like a big box store. You can buy items for every room in your house from furniture, dishes, plants, tables, bedding, decor, Knick knacks, jars, candles, hangers, rugs, lamps, chairs and so much more! This place is a two story warehouse full of stuff. Once you are done shopping for everything you need, you head downstairs and pick up your boxes. There you can pay for it and take it home to assemble, or get a free quote on what IKEA charges to assemble. The prices are very reasonable here. The quality is good. read more

After browsing for a new desk, I decided to finally try out the cafeteria inside Ikea! It was a very neat set up. You get a tray to place on your trolley and you fall in line to be served! Today, I chose to have the Swedish Meatballs for lunch. It came with a side of mixed veggies and mashed potatoes! Although the food was not extraordinary in any way, it was a decent and filling meal! The actual dining area was was bright and spacious. There were plenty of tables for everyone to be spaced out! It was nice being able to sit by the huge windows! I also really appreciated the hardworking staff! In the dining area, once someone is finished eating, the table was immediately cleaned and disinfected! Another plus for me! I went today after 5 years of not returning mostly because all my purchases have lasted so long. There is a great selection of furniture, kitchen, decorative etc items.
