DO NOT BUY!! On August 1st 2025 I bought a couch for $2,091.75. The only caveat was the "end" of the couch was on back order, but it should arrive by October. I said I can live without an armrest for two months, that's fine. At no point in time did the sales person or person scheduling a delivery correct me to let me know by "end" they meant an entire 1/3 of the couch that I was paying in full now. October comes and goes, but by November I have a delivery date for the final 1/3 of my couch I, again, paid for in August. I was getting text messages up to every two hours to confirm my delivery time and even a phone call two days before the Saturday it was to be delivered. On November 21st they called once again to tell me the couch was not there and I would need to get a refund for the whole thing. I called a second man the following Monday who said they would pick it up, refund the delivery charges and that would be that. Today I call to inquire about the refund, but instead am told to call an 877 number. They've filed chapter 11 on November 22, and now I will need to process through an entirely different system to get my money back. At no point in time were they honest in the sale or return of the couch that I no longer have but they certainly still have my money. read more

I Ordered a very expensive couch and it was delivered missing the brackets that keep the sectional together. I was told on the delivery day by the manger over the phone that the brackets were missing and the servicemen who deliver the sectional could not finish assembly, but that someone would contact me later that day to schedule service. It's now two weeks later I have called the store 3 times been on hold for a total of 2 hours between those phone calls and even went into the store today because no one has yet to give me a phone call in regards to when someone would be out to attach the brackets to the sectional. Today in store I was put on the phone with the warehouse manager Maria who informed me that someone else was "supposed to" call me and let me know that the brackets had been ordered but they don't have an ETA. The furniture is beautiful but the customer service is HORRIBLE!!! I had an issue 10 years ago when I bought furniture from them, but I assumed that it had gotten better and sadly I was wrong! We were promptly greeted by associate when entering & she was friendly and helpful and didn't hover over us constantly but checked in with us periodically. Unfortunately we didn't find the items we were looking for but found a great living room sectional in blue. They have no extra discounts on clearance items but offer free delivery for purchase over $999.00. I'd rather have an extra discount since I was ready to transport items myself! My husband and I visited this store on July 10, as well as today, July 11th, to purchase an item in the clearance section that was marked at a great price. However, when we returned to purchase the item, the Manager refused to allow us to purchase the item for what we had originally seen it listed as the night before. This store gets a "0" rating because of the manager who was inconsiderate of us as customers. She ruined our day with a bait-and-switch tactic! After working with a very kind salesman for almost 2 days, the manager demonstrated a lack of customer service care towards us as customers. We spent hours in the store picking out items, but she refused to allow us to purchase the set for the price that was originally on the item. We initially spoke with the salesman who spent time with us, confirming the price we saw on the item the night before. The manager decided that the pieces belonged to another piece, and someone else put that price on the set. We called the Corporate Office and ran into a dead end as well. The representative said she was taking my complaint, but I am not confident that it will be passed on. She could not find anyone to handle my issue. Our sales lady was wonderful but to have management lie to us and tell us we would get all of our items delivered on Saturday instead of Friday if we moved the date back and to not bring them is so deceitful. Then to call and have another manager tell us that a Nick called us the day before to tell us clearances items wouldn't be delivered until two weeks later is just cruel. Nick never called us and two of our clearance items were in the truck and 4 were omitted and not even accounted for on their receipt. I was SUPER excited to use my line of credit from this store but I'm batting 0-2 bad experiences with this chain of stores! My BAD experiences were from both White Marsh & Eastpoint locations. I made two separate purchases both which required a delivery. Customer Service called to set delivery times for each delivery. I made accommodations to be off work & ensured that I was at my residence as scheduled. Unbeknownst to me in both situations, my delivery time was changed without my knowledge! No one called to give me a heads up of the delivery change. I simply found out by calling store to confirm time/date they originally provided only to be told a different time. The first time this happened, I called the White Marsh store to let them know that no one called me about delivery time change. I tried to just get passed that only to find that the chairs I originally ordered and what I actually received were totally incorrect! Bad experience-- because it was so inconvenient at the point-- I ended up having to go pick up the appropriate chairs myself! A little $50 credit was offered towards my account to basically try to smooth things over. I also ordered a shag rug which NEVER came! Silly me--Made another purchase at Eastpoint location. Got a call to confirm delivery time and date. Again time was changed without my knowledge. I called store 3 times and spoke to Customer Service, delivery dispatcher and NO ONE could explain why I was never called to make me aware of delivery change . Apparently, someone is not doing there job& no one cares. Customer Service is a joke and delivery drivers doesn't take it seriously either. The second delivery driver called me at 1:33 pm said I'm 30 minutes away from your location. My furniture was finally delivered an hour later@230 pm (with no communication from delivery driver as to why he was an additional 30 mins late) Once I pay my balance off, it's it for me! This place is miserable. We ordered a 5 piece sectional 2 months before moving. About 4 days before scheduled pick up, they notified us that our couch wouldn't be available for pick up until 2 months after scheduled pick up. When we called to figure out the situation, we were given no guidance. The only options that we were given were to get a couch out of the "clearance" section or cancel our order 4 days before we move. Their stupid salesman ordered us the wrong color couch which we then proceeded to wait four more months for the correct color and then they ordered it facing the wrong way and take no responsibility for it and now told us we have to wait until February. Absolutely atrocious experience. I've been waiting on another company for 12 weeks. I ordered from VCF on 8/5. Chose a couch that when they checked their ipad's, was in fact available and in stock. Great! Delivery date would be 8/26. (Cancelled my order with the other company now, because I trusted VCF). Get a call from warehouse on 8/22 that it will be delayed until 9/26. And most likely 10/26 due to the number of customers who ordered this. Given, the sales associate was not wrong when they said it was in stock. Technically, it was. However, with 96 orders and only 6 in stock they HAD to know the likelihood I'd be getting 1 of the 6 was close to impossible. The best part? Their warehouse team (their own team people!) said they see this all the time. The warehouse lady was super nice and said "well I'll be honest the sales people at our stores do make commission so they're looking for the sale." Their OWN associates calling them out! read more

What follows is an experience my family and I had with VCF: "My purchase started out great. I purchased my sofa and loveseat and was promised delivery two days later. The delivery company shows up right on time. Here's where the problem starts. The delivery driver was not skilled enough to get my sofa through the door. He called his manager and she tried to get me to sign a waiver that states they are not liable for any damage to the sofa or doorway because of me wanting them to shove the sofa in. I told her I never said that and she asked to speak with the driver again. He left the phone on speaker and she said that I refused delivery. They took both my sofa and loveseat (without trying to get it in) and put it back on the truck. I did get my delivery fee back after being on hold for over an hour. I called VCF and told them what happened. The woman told me my options but was not even empathetic to my problem. So I finally decide to exchange the sofa for a second loveseat. I spoke to a very nice woman who was able to do that. She then told me my delivery date is now November 3 which is 3 weeks from now. I asked her why and she said the one loveseat can be delivered on Oct. 20, but she can check with a manager about the other. The manager was unwilling to even try to get my 1 loveseat here tomorrow. I guess he thinks it's ok for customers to be without furniture in their homes. He said that he knows how the delivery company works and they won't do that. Seems he's afraid of them. Upon entering the store Lin the sales associate approached us. She had such a nice energy. Not the abrasive sales vibe you normally get in a furniture store. Ordered furniture in January with a February delivery date. I asked the salesperson how reliable that was due to Covid. Her response was that lead times are longer due to Covid but her eta was very accurate. I mentioned that we had been to 3 other furniture stores who are 4-6 months out and that won't work for us. Assured that they were only a month out, we placed the order. We put it on their VCF credit card so we could get the 0% financing for a year. February comes and they push it back to March....ok I kinda expected it. March comes and they push it back until late April. I've already made 3 payments on the card because it's billed from time of order and not from when you receive the furniture. At this rate, I'll have it paid off before we get the furniture. Your salesman need to be honest. After reading all of these reviews, they know the lead times they're providing aren't accurate. And the customer service on the phone who delay the order need training. After voicing our concerns they pawned us off on the credit card company. I am very unsatisfied by the online and delivery customer service. I purchased my sofa from the store in Eastern Avenue and had no complaints there, even thought I was told that my couch with arrive 1.5 months later. When the date got closer I got a phone call that the couch will come 2 weeks later, then another one that maybe it will arrive two months later (total of 4m), but they were not even sure if this will happen. Anyway, I do understand that they do not get their deliveries on time due to COVID too. I tried to call the customer service and see if they can deliver a different sofa instead, I went trough very rude conversation trying to make me pay extra for a couch that is not as good as the one I ordered originally and should have been much cheaper. The manager was not pleasant at all and never apologized for all of this. However, the delivery people were all angry as well. There was another move in the apartment building that were leaving in 20 min, the delivery people told me that they can wait only 10 more min and didn't care at all that I actually have been waiting for almost two months for this couch and we are talking only 10 min wait. The furniture looks nice in the stores, don't expect it to look nice in your house for a really really long time. They carry nothing in stock and you literally have to wait months for it to get delivered. They also don't communicate with you when your delivery date has been changed due to their own faulty processes. You can probably find a better, faster deal on Craigslist. read more

My worst experience in shopping for furniture. Bought sofa and dining set 2 years ago with 5 year insurance. Dining chairs broke and leather sofa cracked at different places. As per the insurance they are supposed to give us the store credit, My store credit for both the items is around 800 dollars. I visited the store couple of times spent hours and finalized a new sofa thinking that i can use the store credit. I waited at the billing counter for more than hour and then they said that their online system can't accept the store credit. I've been promised call back from Manager which I never received. BUYER BEWARE! If I could give 0 stars, that would still be too many! The absolute worse customer service I have ever received in my life. Watered to cancel an item and was told by customer service they were having an issue, could not cancel the item and would need to call me back. I waited an entire day and never received a call back. Called the store where I made the purchase and spoke with an employee who told me the item had already been canceled from my order months ago ... Which was incorrect. Imagine my surprise being told an item I was looking to cancel had already been canceled and that I was refunded already?! ... Went to the store and was told the person (Faye) I had been dealing with had left for the day although she had just called me 5 minutes before me arriving. I instead dealt with Karen who was the store manager on duty. Her immediate disposition was very nasty. She refused to answer the questions I asked which were in reference to the table I was being told was already canceled. She instead wanted to harp on the fact that I had had a price adjustment in May. I continued to ask her about the table and she told me several times I needed to leave which I refused to do because I was a paying customer who needed to understand what had happened to my order AND my money. In actuality the table I was looking to canceled had been canceled today, not months earlier. Manger refused to give information on how to contact corporate or a higher managers contact information. She also did not provide a receipt showing a refund for the table instead she provided a receipt that no longer had the table but showed some of my other items at a higher price and then discounted. I had went to this Value City a few times with friends to look and purchase. Since I am new to town, I wanted to replace a few broken things from the move. I figured why not give them a try. Beautiful furniture, horrible customer service!!! While there, my sales lady was all over the place. Taking care of two customers(or more) at one time. I literally was walking out the door. She called me back and we proceeded with purchase. I specifically told her that I am new to town and will have no one to be there. She said fine and they will call with appts to pick. I got that called and they gave me a 4 hr window with a 30 mins before courtesy call. I was livid, but she told me there were a few ppl ahead that I might be able to run home on my lunch. I got that call 1030 am in the middle of a 2 hr meeting. I tried to give options and driver told me to call store. I called the store and was placed on hold for close to 45 mins. When they finally reached me, they hung up!!!! I called back and they placed me hold AGAIN. 5 mins into call, the same person who told me to hold, was the person who called me. I explained the situation, I told him I can be home by 12(now already 10 mins to 12PM). He said he will have them do another stop and come back to me. I said fine. 12:20 I received a missed call and i promptly called back and told them I was on my way. The lady said OK, she was going to let them now. Then the same sales person(DAVE) got on the phone and said that I told him I was going to be home at 12 and now they are gone. Not to his knowledge, they already told me they only had two stops in my area(I was 2nd) and then they were off to Towson. He tried to make me look like a liar. I said I am 5 mins away you clearly was not listening when I said have them call me. You was just trying to dismiss me. By that time I had lost my cool and was screaming. He literally told me to stop screaming or else I will have to wait until the 15th to get my furniture. REALLY!!! I want your supervisor. Though he tried to remain "STERN" I find it funny how the men was still there when I arrived with my box spring at the top of a 3rd floor walk up! I apologized to them and will be heading over to the store to make a in person complaint on top of a corporate one as well. I'll start off by saying i found what i wanted online first so it wasn't a hassle coming in and completing the sale i spent maybe all of 10-30 minutes and furnished my entire new house..... well so i thought long story short I'm 5-6 months in waiting on couches and love seats so basically I've been sitting on the floor everywhere yet to have a house warming and cancelled numerous guest from coming over deliveries have been changed a few times further and further wait time yet the furniture is paid in full because that's all that matters at the end of the day they still make their money while u wait and suffer i was better off dealing with price busters at least they have stuff on hand and or in stock they just have HORRIBLE customer service even big lots i would have had my stuff by now but that's the chance you take on big business i will not be be getting furniture ever again from value city and I've told everyone i know not to also and there is nothing they are willing to do or even think of to accommodate or satisfy their customers once they get their money your chopped liver just being honest read more
