Boy, has Ikea came along way from my college days! I was thoroughly shocked when I explored the store of how elevated it has become over time. I was thankful I wore my walking sneakers because I was in this store for 3 hours looking at literally EVERYTHING. I had to start upstairs where I looked at every single room set up, looked in every cabinet, and tried out all the chairs. I think the rooms are curated beautifully and things are very reasonably priced. I really enjoyed the styles of cups and plate ware and the lighting in rooms. I ended up purchasing a pink skadis board for organization, glass cups, and the mix to make the sauce for the Swedish meatballs. The cafeteria is amazing. I enjoyed the carts for plates. The food is delish (especially the Swedish meatballs) and very cheap. I wanted to shout out the section of the store near the check out lines that has returned and marked down furniture and other items. Deals can definitely be scored here. We recently moved to Orlando from Atlanta and this location is smaller than what we are used to. That's sometimes a pro though as I am typically only there to pick up specific items so I can get in and out more quickly. Also the staff (when you can find them) are very friendly. IKEA is always a fun trip... I was happy to find it while visiting Orlando. Of course we had to visit the cafeteria. The meatballs are quite consistent, and always taste pretty good for a pretty good price. What surprised me this visit was the soup. They had a coconut lentil soup that was actually really tasty! I was very pleased. IKEA feels the same pretty much everywhere. Very Scandinavian in its decor and style. The folks working here are professional but not personable. Will I return? And downstairs there's a spot where you can get vegan hotdog regular hotdog, cinnamon rolls, ice cream and something to drink very good prices. Lots of things to look at even if you're not buying anything just to stroll around and look can keep you busy for hours. I really enjoy coming here. The staff can be very helpful. My husband and I stopped by specifically to get help designing a new bedroom closet. The IKEA team member who helped us was wonderful! She listened to our storage needs and within 30 minutes, designed a fantastic closet space with shelves, hanging space, shoe compartments, and drawers -- including one for my scarves and belts. We also appreciated her recommendation on hiring a professional to install it. So thankful IKEA offers this design service! It's IKEA. Clean, dependable, and great for a first apartment/dorm/accessories. They are making better, solid wood items that appear to be sturdier and might even make it through 4 years. The Christmas items are out (5 Nov) and interesting. But the kitchen accessories/containers/storage are my jam. You can get a roux spoon for $2. Thats worth the trip alone. Had to head to Ikea for the delicious Swedish Meatballs with gravy, peas and mashed potatoes. The lingonberry jam ties it all together. I really enjoy the lingonberry juice which is at the drink station. They also offer a chocolate cake that is rich, decadent and satisfying. They also sell really generously sized cinnamon rolls. I love Ikea food so much, I have purchased the frozen meatballs, jarred lingonberry jam and they sell a packet of gravy. So, you can make your own Ikea meal at home. They also sell gingerbread houses at Christmas time, which is handy when my grandkids and some family friends make their Gingerbread houses with me, Grandma! The kits come with some candy, but we bought more. Also, you can make your own icing with a stand mixer. It is more sturdy that way. Some people like to use chocolate or candy melts to build it as well. In Florida we have to use candy that is humidity proof. Top tip, use sugar free starlight mints because they won't melt. Ikea's gingerbread houses are so reasonably priced. It is perfect for the family that wants to make them and don't really have time to make it from scratch. read more

I was excited for the Disney pop-up at Ikea and we had the opportunity to stop at the Orlando location, which is one of only three that has it. The idea that Stitch was lost in Ikea was a fun thought for me as well. I have to admit that I was a bit let down by the whole thing in the end though. The pop-up store is right inside the entrance and easy to walk by and Miss. We went in and looked around and they had a lot of really neat Disney themed merchandise. I enjoyed seeing the assorted artwork that they have available and if I could hang pictures where I live, I would consider buying some. If you wanted a quick Disney gift and we're in Ikea then chances are this might be a good choice. I was a bit underwhelmed by the employees working the pop-up store Although they were friendly. I asked about Stitch been lost in the store and what the deal was. The employee wasn't too sure beyond the fact that you walk through the showroom and try to find Stitch and reunited with his family. The idea is that you follow his footprints and he would be in different departments. We walked through the entire showroom and I was attempting to pay close attention to Ware. We might find them and what might be there and what we found was two locations in the showroom where they had done small displays. In the first one, there was a futon with a yellow cover, which looked like it had been decorated by Stitch. i'm not sure if the futon cover was available, but if I had that futon, I would definitely consider buying the cover. They also had a cut out of him up on the wall. The second one we found was in one of their little room set ups with a children's bedroom with a small Christmas tree, where there were a handful of gifts underneath that were all broken open, presumably by Stitch. There was also a cardboard cut out of him in a window where he was shown to be inside a gift box. It was cute, but somehow I just expected more. If you were shopping at IKEA, then it might be worth stopping if you are a fan but otherwise Ikea has pretty much everything you can want for your home and I do shop here frequently and this visit I ended up just buying a tin of Christmas cookies, but I do like them. read more

When one hears IKEA, it's only natural that allen wrenches and challenging furniture assembly guides come to mind. The IKEA store, while admittedly confusing in its layout, is a far better experience than putting together a dresser. With two floors to explore, my step counter on, and time not a factor, I enjoy meandering to gather ideas for room set ups besides looking at individual pieces of furniture. The sections devoted to kitchen items are probably my favorites. I purchased a strainer the last time I visited, and the microwave dish cover is very affordable at under $1. Plush toys for the kids surprised me, and it causes me to wonder what I'll find that I was not looking for when I arrived. One walk-through flow design I appreciate: the furniture pick up is located immediately before checking out. No lugging big, heavy, and sometimes awkward boxes throughout the store. A good-sized café is situated on the second floor and other distinctly Scandinavian foods and beverages are located in a section strategically by the check out registers. Misc: Arrows on the floor keep you headed in the right direction. Store employees have been helpful but not always in the places one might need them. A free family membership and rewards program is available. Short-term parking spots are located close to the exit to ease the loading of large boxes. This is the only Ikea in Orlando and it can get very busy. Arrive early. Parking lot is huge and I've never had an issue finding parking. The store itself is huge, well lit and organized. Love the markings on the floor directing the flow of people to every department, ultimately leading you to the warehouse to pick your items. I enjoy the way the departments are set up with visuals to inspire and trigger ideas for your own space. Ikea dressers and nightstands have been used in my home for years with no issues. They are sturdy and safe. I love the organization bins to wrangle my kitchen pantry. There is a food court that serves their famous meatballs and many other options, like salmon, chicken tenders, plant balls, veggie balls, and cod. This is a review for free IKEA events held in the store for adults where children can attend along with their parents. I am including information on how to find out about these events and tips for participation. Many customers have a family membership (free sign up) but don't take advantage of the complimentary events held inside the IKEA store each month. 1) Get a digital IKEA family membership. You will also receive discounts and perks. 2) Check your store events page at least a couple times a month. Events will pop up and they can fill up quickly. You can join the waitlist but this is not guaranteed. You must sign onto your IKEA family account to register and each participant must use their own account. There usually is no +1 or a fee. 3) The event offerings include presentations, make and take classes or games and they frequently include a chance for a raffle prize. One fall home workshop they gave away chairs in the raffle. 4) They have Bingo once a month and registrations fill up quickly. Be on time or early. Almost every seat is taken and a lot of families and friend groups attend together. The prizes are desirable and allow the events staff to highlight products sold in the store. I have seen rugs, big plants, chairs, tables and charcuterie sets. They have an event staff of three to call and verify bingo winners. Each adult player gets two free bingo cards and tokens to mark your cards. Nothing to bring as they provide everything and you turn in the paper bingo cards and tokens at the end of the event. They call several games and start promptly. You have to keep up or possibly miss your bingo. Bingo is yelled pretty quickly because there are so many players. The event is an hour and to get more games in they may not offer a break. 5). You can grab a meal before the games begin. I frequently get my IKEA family perk of a free coffee to enjoy during the games. 6). They also have trivia nights where teams compete. It is also held in the restaurant and registration on the event page is required. At both events they may seat you in the event of customer cancellations. 7) Twice a year they offer a smorgasbord for a holiday (Dec) and midsummer solstice (June). IKEA family members get a discount. You can purchase tickets at the restaurant cashiers before the day of the event. The day of the event they have a table and usually a queue. The event staff seats you at an available table. The buffet style meal has many specialties including a whole display of pickled choices, shrimp salad and a huge dessert display. You can take anything in the cold case like a salad and choose a hot meal with meatballs and a vegetable. You can go back as many times as you like meal and includes a non-alcoholic drink. IKEA does not sell liquor. The food must be consumed in the restaurant and there are no to go boxes. For the night of the event the restaurant is dedicated to serving ticket holders and they have people bussing tables so if there is a wait, it is short. Some customers will dress up like wearing a flower crown to the solstice meal or Christmas clothing to the holiday event. 7) IKEA offers many children activities. Your best source for these events is also the store events page. 8). Be sure to check out the as-is section near the check out lanes. Had a terrible experience ordering online from here. They normally deliver something they have in stock by using their local drivers. For some reason, this time my item was being sent via FedEx from Lakeland. The item was lost and didn't arrive until days later. When I spoke with customer support they promised me a refund of my delivery fee and a gift card. Weeks later, I have yet to receive either. Each person I've spoken to has refused to help me and one refused to transfer me to a supervisor. When I eventually spoke with the supervisor, he called me a liar. Needless to say, I won't be doing business with this company again. You're better off ordering from someone like Wayfair. read more

Big fan of IKEA here. There's only one here in Orlando and it's a bit of a drive for us but when we come, we make it worthwhile. I love their showrooms so you can get a feel for their furniture pieces. I personally like getting decorating ideas from here. We bought a couple of dressers and a large bookcase from IKEA and use them for our guest rooms and office room in our own home. The quality is great. Even our out of town guests use them when they come to visit. The only downside of IKEA furniture is that you do have to put them together. They come deconstructed in a box with nuts and bolts with easy to follow instructions so you can build them up. If you want to save money and have the time for a DIY afternoon, then this store is for you. We choose IKEA for certain pieces because they look simple and clean. Plus, it's easier to transport from store to house-- no more waiting 5-6 weeks for furniture delivery. read more

I thought I had already reviewed this some time ago. I like how Ikea has shifted away from "fall aparticle board" towards real wood. In our case, their display set up right inside the door did what it was supposed to do, as we bought two of the Hemnes glass cabinets in the spiffy new red color. It is a marathon to walk the entire length of both floors in the maze-like fashion they have it laid out, but it is always an interesting stroll, with lots of eye candy. Do yourself a favvor if you are going to assemble Ikea furniture, get yourself an organizer and separate all the wee parts, unpack and spread out all the large boards etc in a calm and unrushed attitude. Physically check off in the instruction booklet things like orientation, and that you have completed each step, to save yourself rage and despair. read more

We really love IKEA. It's a bit of a drive for us but when we get the chance to go it's always impressive to walk through the showrooms on the second floor to see how their products can change your living space. They do it so well I make sure my kid is wearing something cute so I can take pictures and portraits of him as they always come out so great. Everything is very affordable as is the cafe food. You have to get the Swedish meatballs and the chocolate cake is divine. Free coffee for IKEA members which is free to sign up for. Also they send you a free $10 to spend on your birthday with that free membership. All checkouts are self checkout but there is someone there to help if needed. Grab some ginger snaps on the way out as they are paper thin and melt in your mouth. Going to IKEA makes me want to remodel my entire house every time read more

When shopping for a house remodel at IKEA be sure to stop by the Bistro located by the cash lanes for a quick cheap snack. This pictured meal was all less than $6! The bistro is very clean for the amount of foot traffic, especially since this was on a weekend the busiest time and the servers are quick and try to get the food to you ASA. The veggie dog with all the toppings is always delicious and very flavorful (I prefer this over a regular hotdog) while the pretzel has been out for a bit and was a little hard unfortunately because they are perfect when fresh with the spicy mustard. The frozen yogurt comes in either strawberry or vanilla (vanilla pictured) and you can get a cone or in a cup, the choice is yours and will always be fresh. Furnish your whole home from floor to ceiling, wall covering art, floor mats and rugs including cowhide , drawer hardware, lighting, extension cords, cups and plates, even plastic plants. If you're going, wear good walking shoes you could easily put in some miles with 2 floors of non stop maze like arrow directions leading toward each home goods section. The food is nothing to get excited about, Swedish meatballs and chicken fingers, homogenized to accommodate serving the masses of customers that flock to this monster sized store. Staff will interact if the customers seek help but otherwise they stay busy ignoring the throngs of people winding through the never ending stacks of reasonably priced goods all with unusual names. It's a once every couple of years kind of adventure just to look around. We spent $10 on a door mat, that's a win for control and not breaking the bank with what could easily be a full cart. read more

IKEA is a labyrinth and the beginning and end are the IKEA restaurant. It's easy to be a little confused where to enter the dining area and how to go through the line, so for that I agree with other Yelpers. HOWEVER, IKEA staff members are the friendliest humans. The cafeteria style could be tacky, but honestly I personally felt it was charming. Very very good place for families since the meals are cheap, fast and the dining area has plenty of seating. There are also different plates for different dietary preferences, so YAY. Did I mention it's cheap? Other than the confusion of where to go and how to sit, the IKEA restaurant was a nice experience. They have lots of items in addition to their iconic Swedish Meatballs. I went on this day because I've been reading about their Vegan Meatballs. I was surprised that an order of Veggie Balls was only $3.99. There were about 7 or 8 balls and my choice of 2 sides. I wanted the Nordic Grains in the picture, but they didn't have any. I chose broccoli and fries. Bottles of water are only $1 too. Ordering was a bit difficult with all of the plastic and speakers and such. it was hard to communicate with the staff serving the food. The Veggie Balls had a tomato/onion "sauce" over top that was delicious. The broccoli was good and the fries were crispy. What more do you want for under $5! The coolest was the tray carrier on wheels. You can load up 3 trays of food on this bad boy and wheel it back to your table. Nice! For $13 two of us had coffee, Swedish pancakes (2 per plate) with lingonberries, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes and two pieces of bacon. I saw a desert trip and had to grab that as well but we only took a bite to taste each one as we where stuffed from the breakfast food. Should t have grabbed it but it looked so good. I love this restaurant, even as a stand-alone from the rest of IKEA. The food is so tasty and affordable for what it is, especially the $4.99 plant-based meatball meal that is now my favorite. It's great that for an added dollar, you can add another half portion of meatballs to your entree. Their carts for holding multiple trays, the appetizers, and the unique soft drink options also make the dining experience more memorabile. First time at this store ever. Heard about ikea but never went. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I decided to get a bed. First Lady explained well how I get to some bins to get some parts etc. cashier says just drive to the parking spots and read the post and it says instructions. 830pm when I left to do this only for them to say 845 no that part is closed. I come in 850 and ask what I need. She says just this paper with the order number. I give it to them and they have me go back to my truck to get the receipt. My number was on the board as preparing or whatever for 4 people that came after me and got their stuff. 915 Then I ask "so is anyone gonna help me I'm disabled" his response "sorry no ones available as they're all trying to go home" don't see what's so great about this store if they treat people like crap read more

Whenever I go to IKEA, I make sure to stop at their restaurant on the second floor for either lunch or a snack. Especially walking through the labyrinth of the sales floor, I tend to work up an appetite. Plus, where else in Orlando can you get inexpensive Swedish food? The setup is cafeteria style, which is a little confusing at first. If you are getting food for your whole group while they sit at the table, make sure to get one of the rolling carts that holds three trays - very handy, especially if you have little kids. I always get the Swedish meatballs meal which is ridiculously cheap for 8 meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, lingonberry jam, and seasonal veggies for $6.99. It was all great except for the veggies that tasted like they had been sitting in water for a long time and had no flavor. My son got the smoked salmon appetizer and the salmon fillet meal. His meal came with a "vegetable medallion" that was tasty but we couldn't figure out what it was - we think it was like a crust less veggie quiche. We also picked up a mini chocolate oat and coconut dessert at the end, for only $0.49. It was good too, somehow I thought it had a coffee taste to it. The seating area is all tables and chairs that you can buy in the store and some of the furniture has price tags on it. There are some unusual drinks in the soda fountain such Lingonberry juice and Pear soda so you can experiment if you want to. It's not quite clear what to do with your tray afterwards, there are tray holders along the wall that I put ours in although periodically I saw cleaners putting away trays left on tables. We went to the restaurant area at IKEA to get some dessert. They have strawberry shortcake for $2.49 and it was delightful. Not too sweet and not too heavy. The service was great, all the staff was very friendly. The only thing I noticed was that they didn't have much for to-go. Maybe that's to save the plane idk. But the ambiance was great, good music was playing over the speakers and def with a repeat!! read more

Quality of food vs fast food is really great healthy meals. Plant based meatballs tasted just like meat everything was tasty and healthy at a great price! I am a Realtor and recently closed on a deal for a client who expressed interest in using IKEA for some renovations. I thought it would be a nice closing gift to give her a gift card to spend at IKEA for the renovations she had them quote her for. The day of closing, 10/28/2022, I went to the local IKEA to purchase the gift card putting $250.00 onto the card. Later I met with my client who then told me that she decided not to use IKEA's services rendering the closing gift that I got her useless. Upon calling IKEA I found out that the purchase I made for the $250.00 gift card is nonrefundable. I mentioned to IKEA customer service agent that I was never informed that my purchase was nonrefundable. The lady from customer support said that this is mentioned on the package. Let me just say that I now realize that there is some tiny print on the back of the physical gift card which is glued with the back of the gift card to the packaging for the gift card. No where else does the packaging mention that my purchase in nonrefundable. The self checkout line didn't indicate that my purchase was final. Furthermore, the associate that helped me checkout in the self checkout line didn't mention to me that my purchase was final. The customer service associate said that it may be possible to talk to the store manager and explain my situation and they may be able to help me out. I wasted my time, gas, and energy trying to work with the manager on resolving this issue. Nothing has been resolved. read more

The food is great here and it looks like it is prepared in a clean kitchen. That's the good news. I've been eating here since this store opened and the restaurant has consistently been a mess. The dining area is always understaffed somewhat dirty (although the tables are usually clean). As well organized as the food line is, the cashier area is a cluster of confusion and a bottle neck. The soda and utensil areas are a generally a mess. Overall there's a feeling this would be a great place if they'd hire a manager and clean a bit, but it's been that way for years, so I guess that's not gonna happen... read more
