My wife and I had a fortuitous baby sitting miracle and decided to celebrate! We pre-paid $438 and ordered a nice $60 Uber from New Tampa to make night of it! When we arrived, there was no one to greet us. We stood around with a group of equally confused looking patrons by the front door. Finally a young woman approached and asked for our name. She wrote it down on paper for some reason (mistaking a hyphen for an apostrophe, but that's not a big deal). Then another young lad came out and said the following: "I'm sorry, we are overbooked. Was it a late reservation?" "Well, gosh yes... " "If you booked with Resy we have no control over it. I'm sorry. You need to contact them for a refund." Then she walked away. I'm sure she may have been warmer or given a sincere apology in the moment, but it didn't feel like it. It felt like getting bad news from Mr. Spock after Kirk had told him he'd had relations with his sister. In mild first-world shock, we wondered outside, before returning to ask "actually, wtf?" At that point we were saved by Mr. Ryan, who was actually apologetic, offered us a glass of wine, and said that that lady was having a bad night. We sat at his bar drank the free wine while we found a table at Haven on Open Table, and watch the increasingly growing crowd of confused patrons pile up in the non-existent waiting area. Apparently the owner/chef is in Thailand or something. It shows. This place is a clown show. Put Ryan in charge, or at least give everyone else a squishy nose and a flower that sprays Pinot into the mouths of people who feel like idiots.
