A phenomenal and homely hole-in-the-wall. The food was delicious and comfy, staff attentive and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was so welcoming! Anna's is the type of restaurant that serves such delicious food, you can overlook pretty much everything else! I don't say that lightly but I was so thoroughly pleased by the meal! On arrival, we did have to wait. But that's on us for not making reservations. Definitely call ahead if you plan to dine during peak. But our party of five was seated at what was really a table sized for four. It was a bit of a squeeze and somewhat awkward but we managed. Additionally, the service was a bit slow due to understaffing. The restaurant was packed and I saw two servers holding it down all night. We were seated at 7:30 and didn't get a check until 10pm. That said, the server was very friendly and as attentive as he could be given the circumstances. The long wait was ultimately worth it. We started the table with some potato pancakes which were divine. They came served with sour cream and applesauce and the applesauce was such a hit! It was packed with cinnamon and warm spice. I loved it so much I took a side home for dessert. The main meal was varied around the table but consisted of some variety. Everyone had pierogies which were excellent! So fluffy and flavorful. They were a part of the polish platter that I had ordered and likely my favorite part of the dish. But it was a close call. The platter also included kielbasa and stuffed cabbage. I nearly cleaned the plate! This was definitely a hardy, stick to the ribs type of meal. So come hungry! I'd definitely return but would try to avoid another weekend. My daughter loves this restaurant. It was her pick for an early birthday celebration. The interior is quaint with pleasant lighting and soft music playing. Our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The homemade, from scratch quality of the food is evident. No shortcuts are taken to deliver savory, delicious dishes. The sausage served with the Polish Trio is superb. The homemade applesauce combined with the sour cream on the potato pancakes really takes it up a notch. I had the Polish Cabbage Noodles (Wazanki) as a side. Next time I would order it as an entrée because it was heavenly. Today I had 17 of my friends with me and we all had lunch here. By the way, I did call ahead. All I can say is if you love Polish food you're missing if you don't try this place. You can start off with service she's awesome. But the food is what we all came here for. We drove in from Leesburg. That's approximately an hour drive. It's easy to drive by and not notice this gem of a family-owned restaurant in Winter Park. My husband spotted it and we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by Joanna and she was also our server. The recipes on the menu are her mom's/family recipes, so her recommendations were even more helpful as she explained the menu to us. We opted for the sampler-style appetizer to get a taste of several things on the menu. The potato pancakes were dense and tasty with the sour cream and cinnamon spreads on the side. The cinnamon "jam" was very cinnamon-y. I loved it, but just a heads up. Kielbasa was cooked perfectly. Soft and juicy inside, a little crusty shell but not hard. Pierogis were the star to me. Light dumplings filled with pork in one and sauerkraut in the other - I need a plate of these for my last meal. We decided to share the entrees and glad we did! Gypsy Potato Pancake was Joanna's top suggestion and she wasn't wrong. Pancakes stacked with goulash (yes please!) very hearty dish, come hungry or with my husband who helped me finish it. The Silesian Dumplings with Meat Pyzy are round potato dumplings stuffed with ground pork meat served with your choice of bacon pieces or homemade mushroom sauce and one side order. My husband selected the mushroom sauce which was light and flavorful (I tasted a hint of white wine) and side of fingerling dumplings, which were light tasting similar to pierogis but no filling. Went for a birthday dinner how disappointed was I the good was good but the the service was horrid to sit for all we got was I'll be right with you more than twice was enough to walk out as a restaurateur to not be greeted when you walk into a very small place and to take a table and be pointed to one or two of these tables that were available but two have been told once again will be right with you and then just sit and listen A server have a 20-minute conversation when they haven't even offered you. A menu or ask you for drinks who are so looking forward to the food and was so disappointed by the service and the fact that we are told that there was no desserts or anything on premises. Even a slice of apple strudel would have been nice or something but to have nothing and the menu doesn't offer anything either. I am not a polish food expert but this place seemed quite authentic and family owned. The restaurant has clearly been in business for a long time. The inside felt very traditional. We tried a little bit of everything from the mushroom soup which was filled with chopped mushrooms in an excellent cream sauce, to the potatoes pancakes which came with homemade apple sauce, the beef goulash, and a mixed selection of Pierogis. The food was great overall and our waiter was very friendly I got the pork chop dinner entree and had mashed potatoes and the red cabbage salad as my two sides. I'm part of a dinner group that frequents local restaurants serving ethnic cuisine. We chose Anna's for our outing this month. I think we were all very excited to try authentic Polish food. Our server was very sweet and polite and she was happy to answer any questions we might have had (as I typically do when dining somewhere for the first time). Our orders all came out as we requested. I ordered their appetizer trio as my entrée - it came with 2 pierogies (I chose the potato and cheese ones) that are topped with caramelized onion and served with sour cream), 2 potato pancakes that are served with sour cream and homemade cinnamon applesauce, and a Polish sausage. I made one substitution to the platter by getting one stuffed cabbage roll instead of the sausage. If you ever want a really good pierogi filled with potato and cheese, the ones they serve at Anna's are exceptional. Light and fluffy filling with a soft doughy exterior. The caramelized onion was very good, although they could have been just a little more generous with the amount given (at least in my opinion). My only complaint about the pierogi is that they could have been just a little larger. To order them as an entrée on their own, I wouldn't think they were worth the price charged. The potato pancake...I think theirs is made using mashed potatoes, unlike the ones I'm used to where they're made with shredded potatoes. The big plus was the crispy edges. I loved that bit of crunch. I think that they could have been a little larger and definitely could have used a little more flavor. There was definitely something missing from them. Can't quite pinpoint what it needed, but it needed something. The stuffed cabbage roll...I don't know if I can write anything positive about it. I like a nicely stuffed cabbage roll but the filling in this was super dense. It was almost like cutting into a meatball that wasn't tender. And the filling had no flavor whatsoever. The tomato sauce didn't have any hint of a tomato taste. And it had a brownish hue to it and again, lacked any flavor. One bite was enough for me. Looking around the table, the one thing that was apparent was the lack of color on the dishes. Brownish seemed to be the theme. Growing up in the restaurant industry, I learned that you eat with your eyes first...color is needed to make the dish look appealing. All you saw was brown. Lots of brown. I expect a restaurant to be busy on an average Friday night but it took a long time just to place our orders and even longer to get them. There was a long wait for appetizers for those that ordered them. There was another table that arrived well after us and got their orders well before we did. We were told AFTER we had completed our dinner that they had been busy and also had a lot of Uber Eats orders. It would have been nice if this was explained much earlier so that we wouldn't be wondering why it was taking so long to get our entrees (at least an hour). To be quite honest, I'm not sure if I'd be willing to go back. There were just a few too many things that I was unsatisfied with. read more

So I've driven past this location for 15 years never knowing it was here. I decided I wanted to find a Polish restaurant to dine at this evening and I found Anna's. I must tell you that Anna's Polish restaurant and Anna herself for that matter are wonderful. The food was delicious. I give it a 10 out of 10. My family and I ate at Anna's Polish Restaurant for the first time for my birthday. It was Sunday a week ago around 5:00 P.M., and we had 10 people in our party. We should have called ahead and made a reservation the day before. They had room for us, but Anna and her son were the only ones working the restaurant. Her son told us that they would have had someone else report to work if they had known we were coming. It worked out, but I know it made for a very hectic evening for Anna and her son. Anna makes all the food herself, and her son is the server and host. They bring you bread to start. I got the white borsch for my appetizer. It was amazing - very flavorful, a pleasant surprise. I had the Polish Platter for my entree. It was very good. My family kept comparing everything to Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe (a German restaurant in Sanford). They like Hollerbach just a little better, but everyone enjoyed the food at Anna's. Of the items we had, I would recommend getting the white borsch, the pierogi, the kielbasa and the Warka beer most of all. I do hope to go back to Anna's very soon.
