I'm not a fan of the "walk through our entire store" because I generally know exactly what I want. Also, staff literally didn't interact with me until I rushed after a guy to ask if they had my dresser in stock. To make this quick. Ordered a patio set 17 july delivery was no call no show on 24th, over 2hrs on hold to get a rep, said they would reimburse delivery fee and reschedule 27. New delivery day part of the order was missing, another 1hr and 45min hold wait and a rep to tell me they would contact me about delivering the rest of the order. So, just biking around the city, I found myself at the IKEA again for their great-tasting $1 no tax vanilla frozen yogurt. Of course, there were about 10 other people in front of me, but I had my cone in hand in about 2 minutes. Delicious vanilla! I also found they have these really cute ziploc containers for an excellent price (50 small bags for $2.99, in various sizes, 30 larger for $4). They are very cute as they are multi-colored with cute little geometric designs to make your lunchtime or organizing fun. They happened to be out of the awesome stainless steel espresso machine I went to go look at, but I guess they sold out! I love IKEA. I'm starting with that because I love the layout of the store, how the displays are on the top and then you go to the warehouse to pick up your items. There is something about seeing full rooms that makes picking things out a lot easier. Plus, I love the price and it just feels refreshing in there. On a slightly less positive note, this store has given me a few headaches as of late. There have been instances where two items I go to the store for are not in stock and neither of them have any signage about when to expect them to be back. Secondly, the store must be understaffed on Friday evenings, because I had to wait for about 10 minutes before finding a yellow-shirted man to help me load a huge box on my cart, then when trying to get this same huge box into my car, there was no one to be found. Wouldn't it be a good idea to have staff to help customers get these items loaded? Perhaps I should have gone back into the store to find someone, but I would think they would just have people posted out there (hint hint). When you go, bring a buddy- I'm probably the only birdbrain that missed that memo- and have a list of the things you are going for, or else you will end up with a huge bill at the end. This place was MOBBED yesterday- a Sunday at 3pm. It was too crowded- and they were out of what we were there to get. I know there are only two Ikeas in the area but this one gets WAY more traffic than the one forty minutes away in Conshy. (I know because we went there right after and they had our stuff.) read more

The furniture is not top quality but for the price they where perfect. I mean they dont really look cheap, they look pretty fancy, but when you open some of the drawers they dont feel firm. Also, I have to add that I wasnt gonna buy here because some people told me that they where really hard to assemble. I assembled all of my furniture in my apartment (every single one is from ikea) without any problem or missing parts. My reccomendation is to buy a small (or big if you want to) drill so it makes it faster and easier to put in the screws. read more

I always have fun here. I always regret moving any furniture I bought here though. The neat business model allows me to feel responsible for putting together the particle board together improperly. If you want actual wood you have to pay up, & still risk putting it together poorly or loosely. More importantly, they have removed the ball pit. Now there are wisks there. You can build an 18 piece wisk set instead of playing in a ball pit. read more

As I said i can spend way too much money in this store. The top floor is the showroom, you casually stroll through and get inspiration. The bottom floor is where i get into trouble. That's where you can buy kitchen gadgets, curtains, room decor, rugs, etc. etc. After you wonder through all that you come to the warehouse, here you can find your big furniture pieces. They are all organized by bin and aisle numbers. I do recommend bring a big truck if you plan on buying big pieces. Shipping can be very expensive. Also build it yourself once you get home. They offer to build it for you but that's $$$. read more

It's Ikea, I mean, they've perfected the process of finding the cheapest most mass-produced crap that is both palatable yet slightly unsatisfying to almost everyone equally. I'm not really sure at this point if I'm reviewing the food or the furniture, yet. Hmm, I used the word "palatable," I guess I'll go with the food. So, yeah, it's Ikea. If you've eaten at one, they're all the same. Their cafeteria is best during school hours on school days (to avoid the herds of screaming children barely controlled by their parents) which is coincidentally, the only good time to shop for pressboard (oops, I mean furniture). I've had both breakfast and lunch, and neither were spectacular, but it filled the belly, thus achieving my purpose. The most unique part of the dining experience is being able to sit and look out at the decaying SS United States on the Delaware. Or explaining to my wife why they don't have underground parking like every other Ikea (psst, it has something to do with the water level that close to the river.) read more

I like coming on thursdays, i've been coming for the past three thursdays for the $1.99 herb roasted chicken with mash.. and I get a side of the corn bread, it's yummmy.. there's also a really nice female associate that works with us..she makes the experience better.. I think some of the furniture and stuff is a bit over priced..but I found a really cool hanging storage thing for 14.99..its really cute, black and white stripes with a floral pattern on the inside..and the fruit scented candles makes me house smell awesome.. Worst delivery service!! My package was scheduled for delivery between 5-9pm, got a call at 8:57pm checking to see if my package was delivered and when I responded no, the lady seemed surprised and told me she would reach out to the driver.... never got a call back. Following day I reach out to the delivery company and was told there was a "delay" so they needed to send the package back to the store and then have it redelivered which now will be 3 days past my scheduled date/time. Not for nothing, but they charge a steep price for this horrible delivery service. Very frustrated. read more

DO NOT order countertops or kitchens through IKEA While I've had decent experience with furniture purchases in the past, our experience ordering countertops was awful. 1. The salesperson lies to us about additional charges we asked specifically about that were added later. 2. The company they contracted to (Intelco) was just as bad - the guy that came to take the template up-charged us, refused to speak to me (a woman) and insisted on speaking to me through my contractor (a man) though we were all in the same room, and then didn't even do his job right and had to come back. 3. When we tried to contact IKEA to dispute the up charge, I spent six hours total either on the phone, on hold, trying to find numbers that worked, and eventually going to the store to demand answers. Horrible delivery service. I ordered the KIVIK couch and KALLAX shelf and my delivery window was between 1pm & 5pm. I was asked by the delivery driver to stand outside at 10pm for the delivery and they didn't show up until after midnight. I tried to contact the delivery driver a few times while I stood outside for 2 hours and she would hang up on me. I felt very unsafe while waiting for the delivery as it was very late at night and then felt unsafe when the delivery arrived. I have tried to get ahold of customer service but am unable to. Bought a queen sized mattress, mattress topper and bed frame at the same time. Moved in about 2 weeks later to realize that the bed I was given was a full sized mattress. I tried to contact customer service MULTIPLE times and was hung up on every time. I called the distribution center and was told that they cannot transfer me over in any way nor offered any help besides to keep trying. Never had any problems before but this experience has been nothing but hell while still trying to get settled into a new home. read more

I was looking to solve multiple home organization problems that have arises due to working from home with a toddler during the COVID pandemic. I had a long list and lots of needs, well IKEA solved them all. By the end of my three hour shopping trip my daughter was spent, we were hot tired and packed full with two carts! Well our customer care could not have been better. Loreen went above and beyond during our checkout experience in an already busy South Philadelphia IKEA during peak hours on a Friday before a holiday. I felt like I knew her my whole life, she made me feel good about my hard work picking these products and worked really hard to check me out as quickly as possible! If you are thinking of using IKEA for your counter tops, stop right now and go somewhere else. Dealing with them has been a terrible experience. First the sales person lied to us about charges. Second, The person who came out to do our template was rude and straight up sexist. Third since getting the template we have been unable to contact anyone at IKEA or the contractor. We have been fully charged but we have no idea if we and when we are getting our counter too. When we call the phones are either down or we get shuffled from department to department with no one able to help or end up leaving vms that are never returned. Clearly I will never shop with them again and will be sure to spread that message loud and clear. IKEA should be embarrassed. read more

Really terrible location. Yesterday we were shopping there around 7 pm and someone broke into our car, broke the locks the door handle, and stole my school beg with my laptop in it and my wallet and other stuff that was in there. I am beyond devastated , there was so many people around the parking lot was full and NOBODY saw anything. The ghettoest place ever, I never had anytime stolen so this was really new to me, that someone would actually brake a door in the car to get to your stuff at a parking lot of a place like IKEA, just so disappointing. My whole life was in that laptop, I do graphic design so alllll my work was there all the pictures from with my family everything is gone. XPO LOGISTICS (IKEAS DELIVERY SERVICE) REVIEW: First, after taking the day off of work to receive a delivery, they told me they were 3 hours late but ensured the driver was on my way with our IKEA delivery (couch and table). They said the delivery truck was on the way with my package. Then they called me that the driver FORGOT MY PACKAGE. The driver DID NOT ever pick up my items from the warehouse. They told me they would deliver it two days later. But the gentlemen assured me I would be the first stop regardless of the route of the deliveries that day to make up for their MISTAKE. So, having to leave work early another day AGAIN, I called in the morning at 9am (my delivery was scheduled for 9am and they told me I would be first) they couldn't find my order on their computer. They didn't have my delivery as rescheduled. Then after waiting 30 minutes on the phone with customer service (I've spoken to the customer service team four separate times, speaking with four separate women, whom were very rude and told me they couldn't call the driver, then they could call the driver, miscommunication etc), they told me I would be the second stop. At this point its 9am, my delivery was scheduled for 9am-1pm (remember, I was the FIRST stop), now they're running late AND they CAN'T CALL THE DRIVER. They tell me they can't get a hold of who it is. Then I call back, they tell me the driver IS STILL AT THE WAREHOUSE, AT 10AM, the delivery man is still loading his truck. When I asked "Don't they start the loading process at the warehouse at 8am?" The customer service woman replied "Yes, but they have a lot of packaged." What a joke! How can you have a delivery scheduled 9am-1pm if they're still LOADING THE TRUCK AT 10AM. The delivery was late, after already being rescheduled for not taking place because a mistake on their part. THIS PLACE IS A MESS. THEY ARE LATE AND RUDE. THEY MISCOMMUNICATE WITH THEIR MANAGERS AND DRIVERS. THEY LOSE PACKAGES. THEY HAVE NO CONSIDERATION FOR THE BUYERS TIME AND MONEY. And at Ikea if you decide you don't want their bad quality products, you still have to pay for delivery and tax, even if you did not open the box. Understaffed and the staff that works (I use that term very lightly)there meanders around at their own speed with no sense of urgency. This place is great. For many many reasons . They have a play area for kids and give you a beeper if they act up or throw up. Sometimes I go there for a break sometimes if it is just too damn hot outside (not now obviously) and you need a free air conditioned activity followed buy dollar hot dogs or dollar ice cream what more could you ask for? I wonder sometimes what the range is on that beeper -if I could make it to lets say Champs across the parking lot for drinks. Of course I do come here for other things like recycling batteries or actually shopping for things in the market place. For the guy who couldn't find his way out... there are signs all over the place even short cuts .The place is dreamy and all but all you have to do is look up and read the damn signs. read more

I came here with my uncle to exchange a lightbulb and we had lunch in the dining area. He ordered a pulled pork sandwich with French fries, which he rated a 5/5. It was bloody delicious. I ordered the Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese. Holy cannoli they were divine. The blueberry cheesecake was also heavenly. Have you ever had Breakfast at Ikea? Well you won't confuse it with Breakfast at Tiffany's that's for sure! I met my buddy PJ here for breakfast before going to Home Depot to pick out a nice house plant. Everyone knows a guy like PJ, or you may be just like him yourself. You know the type, his motto is "If it's free, it's me". So leave it up him to find a breakfast special that includes Eggs, Bacon or Sausage and Home fies for only 99 cents! That's not all, you can substitute different offerings like the Swedish Pancakes with the Logganberry topping or get a side order of anything for $1.00. I'm used to paying six to eight bucks for a simple average breakfast so the possibilities were swirling in my brain, calculating just how much I can scarf up for my usual breakfast tab. Ikea's Kitchen is set up like an old skool cafeteria, you grab a tray, utensils, and there's cold milk and orange juice available at the beginning of the line. I decided to break the bank and go for it and try to sample everything. Here's the list: Scrambled Eggs, Home fries with Turkey Sausage links, Bacon, Swedish Pancakes and some kind of Fish. I added a cup of coffee and some OJ and the grand total was $5.99 plus tax. But wait until you run out tonight and sleep on the payment in front of the store to be sure you get a place at the table. The food was OK, a notch above school cafeterias and the place was spotless with plenty of seating with a view of the Delaware River. The portions are small and and a little lukewarm for my taste. Fortunately there's a microwave right in the seating area. Overall it was a pleasant experience and PJ felt like Diamond Jim Brady when he took care of the check. I even got to buy one of those fake Chinese paper lantern thingys on the way out. read more

I worked at the first IKEA store in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. when they just opened. I learned more there then any other job because of the amount of customers and issues. I also learned a ton about design so now I have my own home furnishings store. But you can see the influence of IKEA and other stores in our set up. Very poor costumer service at furniture pickup. Took over an hour to pickup merchandise that had already been picked. Complaints to Management were met with excuses, meanwhile the materials were already sitting on a cart not ten feet away. Take your business anywhere else- entire furniture pickup staff at Philadelphia store and management should be fired and replaced.
