I've been coming to IKEA for furniture shopping for years, and one of my favorite traditions was eating their meatballs before shopping. They're always so good. I visited again recently after a long time, and I was surprised to see how quiet it was. This place used to be busy​ all the time, but even on the weekend the parking lot was pretty empty. Maybe because of gas prices. The restaurant felt a bit different too. The food that used to be served on nice plates and cups is now in disposable containers. It even seemed like there were fewer staff around the kitchen area. The taste of the food is still the same, which is great, but the changes felt a little unusual. Still, it brought back a lot of good memories, and I'm glad I stopped by. read more

Food is good although the vegetables (peas, mashed potatoes) are average. My fave is the Swedish Meatballs with a light gravy. A generous portion (I remember eight?) and I often cannot eat them all. They sell them in the grocery next to checkout. Recently I met friends at the cafeteria because we could sit at the tables to visit for hours, no pressure to finish. They are often almost empty, but it's a large area so it may just seem low customer. Super place to bring large families. The only negative is the chairs became very uncomfortable, admittedly we were there about 2 1/2 hours. This review is wordy but I really like it! read more

The Swedish meatballs are tasty and consistent with all other IKEA restaurants. So easy to walk through their cafeteria style restaurant and get what you want quickly. I personally love the lingonberry jelly to dip my meatballs in. The presentation was delightful with the little Swedish flag planted on the meatballs and a sprinkling of herbs on the mashed potatoes. Service was quick through the line and at the cashier. This is not gourmet food but it makes for a quick lunch so you can get back to getting lost in the store. You can also buy the meatballs, gravy, and jelly in their frozen food section. The best deal is the gooey chocolate cake for $1.49. Tasty and just the right size for something sweet. If you have the IKEA loyalty card you can get a free coffee every time you go. read more

Hubby & I were shopping and I started craving their Swedish meatballs. The ambiance is a typical cafeteria. There was a line but it moved quickly. I got the Swedish meatball plate which came with peas & mashed potatoes and of course, the scrumptious lingonberry jam. Hubby got a codfish plate with fries and mac n cheese. We both enjoyed our food & ate every bite. Hubby got cola to drink but I tried the Lingonberry soda pop & it was delicious! Came into buy a duvet cover. Ended up stopping for coffee. Free if you're an IKEA member. There were multiple desserts which I could not resist. Swedish chocolate gooey cake looked good. It was a bit too sweet. I usually prefer dark chocolate. What was supposed to be a quick coffee stop turned into a meal with additional order of Swedish meatballs. Made my first trip to IKEA today. When you're enjoying the vast selection of European minimalistic design, you can work up an appetite. The meatballs are infamous so I had to try them. They were decent. I'm a meatball nut, go crazy for a protein ball. I think they'd suck without the gravy. The sweet sauce is interesting. Not a very good selection of food. What they did have reminded me of any frozen meal you might pick up in store. The Swedish meat balls tasted like Frozen Banquet Sslsbury Steak. The peas you could get from any can. The cost was way out of line with the qualityor quantity Go buy yourself a tv dinner cheaper and quality as well as quantity about the same. The beverage was generic but tasted ok however the small glasses were ridiculous, I do not think they would hold 12 oz. You could fill up as often as you would like but the glasses are so small if you add ice you have yo get up 2 or three times to refill. Love IKEA. At one time my apartment then house was furnished with half hand me downs and half IKEA. I still have a few items that are over 20yrs old, so they have lasted longer then my first marriage, divorce paper stated I get the IKEA poang & display case. Where to begin when it comes to Ikea... Such a HUGE place with SO much to offer. You could legit spend an entire day here shopping or just getting ideas for home decor/improvements. And if you get hungry, you can head to the restaurant upstairs or the deli counter downstairs for a tasty bite to keep you going. I'd been to this location when it first opened years ago. I remember almost being overwhelmed by the sheer size and scope of it all. I also remember really enjoying the Swedish meatballs they had in the restaurant. For this visit, my lady and I came looking for items to put into our new house (cabinets, shelving, a TV stand, and other various odds and ends). We really like the showroom area because it helps us come up with ideas to implement into our own place. The employees are all very friendly and helpful too. Got questions or need to order something that's not in stock? They can help with that for sure. In fact, we ordered a cabinet set for our bathroom that wasn't in stock, and the employee helping us (whose name unfortunately I cannot recall) was incredible in helping us. As far as price, I honestly felt we spent a lot less than I'd expected for it all. And, of course, after all the shopping, we started feeling a bit hungry, and my lady wanted to try the Swedish meatballs after I told her about them. Their restaurant area is very nice with lots of seating. It's cafeteria style, so you just hop in line, grab a tray, and go. There are some ready-to-go desserts and salads first. Then it gets into the main courses, like baked salmon, veggie dogs, and their famous meatballs. My lady opted for baked salmon (with peas and a vegetable medallion) and I of course picked the meatballs (with peas and mashed potatoes). We also got a Greek salad to split. Damn good for only $23! And we definitely enjoyed it all! Everything tasted super fresh and cooked to perfection. Ikea is an enormous place with lots to offer. It can be a bit overwhelming if it's your first time, but there are signs and friendly employees everywhere, all ready to help you in any way. Some of the goods are a little pricey, but they're made to last, so you absolutely get what you pay for. I already know my lady and I will be back for more stuff for our new home... Appropriately priced furniture. Staff was able to answer any questions that were asked. Staff was also friendly and made sure you felt welcomed right when you walked in the door. I ended up purchasing a book shelf, a small shelf and a drawer. Stopped half way through shopping to get lunch in Ikea. It was very good and also reasonably priced. Employees double checked to make sure my order was correct when I substituted for my meal and made sure everything came out perfect. Overall, a great experience and interaction with staff. Normally, I do not like being in stores for long so I looked up what I wanted on the ikea app to make sure it was in stock, used the map they provide at the entrance to locate the items to make sure I liked them and then went down to the warehouse to purchase them. I was talking to a friend last week who's never been to IKEA, and I was explaining it to her, how it's easy to spend an entire day there, but it's no problem because you can grab lunch at the cafe. She thought it was crazy! She could not believe that I was telling her the food here is great and I would go here for lunch any day. But, I'm totally serious! B always opts for the Meatballs, which I think is a common dish most people get when they visit. They're good, but I usually opt for something different. My favorite dish is something they don't always have on the menu, but it's a chicken breast stuffed with peppers. It's delicious! And the sides, desserts, and drinks are always really good too! Totally understand pets being restricted in the food areas, but they are so separate from the rest of the store it would be simple to add a few "no pets beyond this point" signs. Don't care what anybody says, I am a big fan of the meatballs with mashed potatoes, gravy and lingonberry compote. It's just yummy. I drive in from out of state, so lunch after shopping is a must and quite convenient. Desserts are all good. I am always tempted to grab a few, but have to limit myself to one at a time. This time I had blueberry cheesecake, OMG, soooo good. Of course I also have the lingonberry pop to top it all off. No it is not fine dining, but an absolute value that can not be beat. Ikea food is the perfect snack to fuel a daylong furniture hunting session. You get a lot of food for the cost, and the variety is pretty solid. There is a good sized menu to pick from at the IKEA restaurant. The food is of good quality and we were excited to try the IKEA staple, swedish meatballs. The meatballs were yummy. We both got salads that were fresh. The salad were very good. They can be a meal by themselves! However, the desserts were amazing!!! They satisfied my sweet tooth. We had the almond chocolate slice, which was filled with delicious creamy goodness and a couple of other desserts that had no name next to them. So I am just going to name these for you There was a mocha ball that tasted heavenly!!! It had crushed peanuts on the outside and a chocolate coffee mousse inside. There was a green marzipan dessert as well,yummy!! Now, why 3 stars? The place was lacking in cleanliness in the dining area. The place is kids friendly, which I appreciate. They usually give you strawberry sauce if you don't ask for lingonberry. I love getting the lingonberry sauce because it is tart and sweet. It reminds me of cranberry but even better! I actually really enjoyed the restaurant at IKEA. It's certainly a great value and you can eat a hefty meal here. I tried the famous swedish meatballs and it was quite good. It comes with a side of baked veggies that was a little overcooked and dry but i think the meatballs more than made up for that deficiency. The nordic smoked salmon was amazing. You're gonna need some sustenance if you are going to brave the Mighty IKEA. Especially on a Saturday just before school starts! We decided to eat after we finished shopping, which provided some logistical issues. It is easy enough to get up to the restaurant, but if you have already shopped and want to leave after you finish eating, your only option is to go through the entire marketplace to get back to the exit. Eating pre-shopping or post-showroom but pre-marketplace seems the most easily navigable. The restaurant is cafeteria style, with two sides serving the same things. The staff was incredibly friendly! The line didn't move terribly fast, but we weren't in too much of a hurry. The best thing that can be said is that it is very affordable. Lunch for 2, with dessert and extra beverages, cost less than $18. The creme cake I got was my favorite part, and then elderflower juice was delicious! The meatballs were fine. People rave, but...eh. The veggie patty that I got as my side was the best part of the meal. I like that they have carts to carry multiple trays if you are there with a family. But then there is the tendency for jerks to push their empty carts in to your table or leave them in the middle of a walkway. The fruit juices were really tasty. Overall, I am fine that we ate here. But I've done it now. I have fulfilled my IKEA pilgrimage by eating here finally. I expect that next time I'll eat somewhere else. read more

Not sure what the hype is about the Swedish meatballs. They were good and well priced but not knock your socks of. We got a Swedish meatball meal with mashed potatoes green beans and the berry fruit jam. Loved everything but the meatballs, but they were good. Also got chicken fingers and fries and chocolate cake. Fries weren't crisp, chicken was good and chocolate cake was great. The lady behind the counter and the young lady at the check out is the reason for 5 stars. They were both very friendly and the lady behind the counter put gravy on everything like I asked. Liked the tray return area. It was very efficient. I love IKEA and I love their food. I realize that it isn't the gourmet experience I prefer but for someone who grew up in Europe and has questionable Scandinavian heritage this is comfort food. I don't mind the cafeteria-style dining, meatballs that make my heart happy, and frequent specials and other choices. I also like the chocolate cake. They also offer breakfast but you're living in a fantasy world if you think I'm going to be up and out in time for that. It's $1.99 so there's a great reason if you're close to get out the door and in the dining room. If you have kids and no shame about them being ornery and ill-mannered Tuesday is a great time for you to come to IKEA! They have story time! They have kids eat free! Since we were basically the only people in line I noticed how nice and caring the workers were they made our experience nice and smooth. Get a platter of the meatballs, mashed potatoes, and roasted veggies with gravy and a side of lingonberry presverves (like cranberry sauce only way better!) for like $6. I would assume all the food at every IKEA is the same, most of it frozen then thawed. This Saturday, I decided to take my mom up to IKEA as she had never been. Originally, I was planning on taking her to bruch some place "Over the Rhine", like Senate. However, since mom had never been, she wanted swedish meatballs. For $4.99 you can get 10 balls, mashed potatoes, and grav as well as lingonberry sauce (think a cranberry sauce, only smaller berries). For an extra $1, you can get 5 more balls. It is totally what you expect from cafeteria style food. Nothing too fancy or spicy. it is worth going here to try it or if you have just spent a couple hours wandering in the maze of the top floor of IKEA. It gets 3 stars because almost all the food is frozen and made elsewhere. They do have a soup station, but I saw SO many kids touching stuff. (ew). I choose Swedish meatballs because of other reviews but I thought the food was average, not out of the ordinary and certainly not spectacular. Our son ordered the chicken meatballs, mash potatoes and green beans. He said the chicken meatballs were 3 out of 5. And the mash potatoes were a 4 out of 5. We both thought the green beans were good. The meatball dinners were buy one get one free. So with 2 soft drinks we ate for under $10. For this I gave one more star for value. read more

The food here is decent. Nothing I have ever craved, but not bad when the shopping trip I was hoping would only take an hour is on hour two, and there is still the downstairs to explore. I think their desserts look better than they taste. They have a tendency to be a bit dry. The tiramisu was the exception. I rather enjoyed it. My children enjoy their chicken strips & fries. When I cut them, they are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Right now they do kids eat free (after 11am,) on Tuesdays. I am not sure how long this promotion will last. During a recent visit to IKEA, I spent so much time going through the store, that by the time I got to where the restaurant, I was hungry. See they place it between the showroom and the warehouse just for that reason! At first I was astounded by the prices. It was super cheap! I picked up a tray and chose the penne with alfredo sauce. My boyfriend had the chicken fingers and they were both good! I didn't try the meatballs but after reading Angela B.'s review I wish I had! Everything is served in REAL dishes and glasses.
