I like Ikea. It's not usually a quick in & out thing. I go when I want a browsing shopping experience. It's a little more self-service than I like. Who wants to pick up and load a sofa? Not I. I bought a new sofa at Ikea late last year. For a small fee (under $40), it was delivered. The restaurant on the third floor was a must-visit, but now food is pricier (everywhere, not just here). Still, maybe it's worthwhile for an old-time experience of sitting sit in a department store eating a warm meal in front of those big windows with views of Midtown and other areas of the city. Room for improvement: I think the store should open a little earlier than 11 a.m. on Sundays. read more

I miss having an IKEA in my backyard. So when a friend asked me if I wanted to go there on a recent visit to STL, I said yes. We went at 10 AM, thinking that was when they opened. To our surprise, the opening time has changed to 11 AM. We left and came back at 11. Both of us always enjoy the displays that show you what you can do with specific amounts of square footage. The merchandising team at IKEA are so creative, they make use of every bit of space in their examples. IKEA is a huge store, but you can't get lost. All you gotta do is follow the arrows painted on the floor. They're there from start to finish. They'll lead you through; furniture, accessories, housewares, plants and more. When the arrows lead us through the frames and artwork, we got a giggle that they had copies of the Mona Lisa and Starry Night. My favorite area is the housewares, I can always find something that I need in my kitchen. However, on this visit I found a coat tree for my front foyer in the accent furniture area. It's going to be nice to have something to hand my coat on instead of throwing it on the chair. If you need assistance there's always an associate working nearby. As I shopped, I did notice the prices weren't as low as they use to be, but that is the case almost everywhere. However, it's still a good value. read more

IKEA is a shopping experience! We don't live close to it so it takes us some time to get there which is great that it takes you equal amounts of time to get through the store...unless you know what you're there for and where its already located. Selection and prices vary. That day I found out had I come the day before, the item (which is a staple on their floor) was out of stock but they had just stocked it that morning. So sometimes it can be hit or miss and trying to find it online before you come doesn't always work either. We aren't ones who make sure to stop in the café but we have eaten there before and its not bad. They use to give out free coffee if you had the card, not anymore. They use to give you a free birthday cake slice but now you have to buy an actual meal with it. So there's a few things that could be better if they went back and implemented but otherwise we enjoy a trip there every so often. read more

Went to a free pot painting spring event. Very well organized and had fun painting 2 pots for flowers. I was hoping the snack selection would have been a little more substantial but still enjoyed it. But then walked around the store and was a little disappointed as there were almost no staff and my coupon did not work for all items. read more

Shopping at IKEA is quite the experience! If it's your first time visiting, plan on several hours to check it out. There's a lot to see! Sign up for a loyalty card. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's so many decorating ideas, housewares and even plants. I think most items are priced reasonably well. The lowest floor that houses decorative art, live plants and the food marketplace are my favorite spots. In the marketplace, I highly recommend trying the frozen Swedish crêpes, assorted jams and frozen vegan meatballs. Make sure you check out the cafeteria and enjoy the city views from the dining area. The parking lot is huge. You can bring your own shopping bags or buy one of theirs. read more

Indoor and outdoor parking. Lots to look at! Top level is little rooms with individual set ups like apartments. Kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, dorms, offices, etc. When that round is finished you see the cafeteria with different meals to choose from or side items. You cannot substitute. Soda is not full sugar/ name brand. On the lower level are all the smaller items to buy that day that you can handle. They have a more industrial section and then the check out near another snack bar. We walked away with a couple household items including pillow covers all for under $30. read more

I went to IKEA specifically to get a row of hooks to hang cooking utensils on. I figured IKEA would have that. And they did, but.... The one I wanted was marked as $4.50 and said I t said it could be found in the kitchen area. There was no supply at all where this was and I never found any in a "kitchen" area. I came across another one style which had the supplies on shelves underneath the display, but this item was evidently out of stock as well. So I asked someone for help they went back upstairs and found out that the first one I was looking at was discontinued and they're not gonna be getting any more in and they don't have any in stock, but yet the display is still up. I went to the checkout area, which was the only place I could find another worker, and she had no clue about the second one. So what I came there for I was not able to get - both were evidently out of stock. So most of the other things that I had picked up on the way to buy I put back. I'm not going to support a company that has a maze of trails throughout and you can't go back and look at something and reconsider or you can't put something back. And the Help there is a few and far between at best. It's a stupid way to shop if you ask me and I am done with IKEA. Done, as in, NEVER. SHOPPING. THERE. AGAIN. read more

Let's start briefly with their "cafe". The women in there were so nice! It's not their fault the quality has gone down. I wish they still had the crepes/ breakfast. Now, to the rest of the store....my recent experience there was horrible! First, I'll back track to delivery/ pickup. They schedule a date, but that's just a suggestion. They deliver/ pickup when they want too! Have it for the 6th...no it'll be the 5th. Schedule for the 12th, nope we will show up for the 13th! IKEA refuses to do anything because they outsource to a different company! The St.Louis store is filled with two good people, one she is usually at self-checkout. I'd love to give her a shout out, but unfortunately I did not get her name. She was more helpful than management. She actually tried to de-escalate the situation and come up with problem-solving. This girl is too good for IKEA and I hope she sees this! She's too smart to be working there. She is the only one who seems to have customer service skills. I bought an overpriced piece of crap bed from here recently. It showed up with damaged parts. I called the customer service line and the guy I spoke to there said I could just go down to the store. They have what I need in stock and ask for the damaged parts. Make sure I bring the manual. I even recorded the conversation so if I needed to, I could play it for the fools at the St. Louis store. I drive an hour to get to the store. I go in to get the pieces at the customer service area where returns and exchanges are. The little girl that was at the counter apparently is way too sensitive and doesn't even like a mild frustration tone. She severely lacks any customer service skills. She does not communicate to what she's doing. She does not know how to listen either! After a lot of back-and-forth of I was never told to bring in damage pieces and her tell me that I need them in order to get the exchange she finally wises up to get a manager involved. We start the whole process over again. This store was so vile in their disrespect that they can't even see how wrong they are. It took 45 minutes to an hour to get through to these people and get what I was told I would be able to get. No one seems to know anything or how to do anything. In between dealing with the imbecile at returns and exchanges, I walked away to see if I could get anywhere with anyone else. That's when I ran into the one and only helpful woman in the store that I previously mentioned. She got a manager for me who was very rude and vile and severely unhelpful. He clearly is too lazy to even walk up to the front area! He looked like well what do you want me to do, what do you expect me to do and how can I avoid doing anything! He basically told me I should just buy another bed! Why would I want to buy another bed when I spent 500 on this overpriced piece of crap! I was like wow, you are severely unhelpful and too lazy to do basically anything. I'm gonna walk away from you as well! A few minutes later, I noticed he waddled himself out. By the time I came back, I took notice that security was watching the person I was with who took over for me. Another lowlife employee walked up to security who were just looking at the other person menacingly and being very caddy out on the sales floor. I let them know by telling them you were being heard and is very unprofessional. Be very catty about customers on the sales floor, has intact and go in the back room to talk about customers. Photos were taken. The one standing up in the photo was the most caddy of them all. Anyhow, the store did nothing to de-escalate the situation and is in severe need of learning how to de-escalate any situation with reason. All this store did was to escalate the problem that didn't need to get to level it did! Experience alone in the St. Louis door, I would advise avoiding it at all costs! Quality of the items have severely gone downhill even more than they used to already be. IKEA is a brand I used to like, but I will never set foot in IKEA again or by online! Horrible company in the United States! You're better off buying something from Amazon! The only thing I could use IKEA for ever again is just get small space living ideas of what I wanna do and then go elsewhere and buy more quality products with better customer service. Elsewhere the bar is pretty low for customer service when matched up with IKEA. Two managers, the security and all people in returns and exchanges should all be fired from the St. Louis IKEA store. My wife found exactly what we needed in the showroom but could not locate in the warehouse. That's when a nice middle aged IKEA fella came like a knight in shining armor. Who doesn't love IKEA? I seriously can spend my down time here and not get bored. The food at the Swedish restaurant is good and they have a large area of places to eat. Usually quiet, even on the weekends. Only disappointment is how many items are out of stock. I overheard an employee saying that they were dealing with low inventory because of a fire somewhere, but I have come across certain items that I wanted but were out of stock. It's also kind of like a maze in there. Once you're in, it's a challenge to go out. Maybe that's their strategy for business? read more

IKEA is my go-to for my Snake Plants. They have the best prices....hands down!!!! My home is filled with mother-in-law-tongues of all sizes. IKEA has sizes ranging from mini, when they are in stock, to small, medium and large. I mostly buy the large ones because they are priced at $19.99 and $17.99 when on sale. I also just walking through the store on occasion to look for home ideas or items I never knew I needed, didn't really need but purchased anyway. I look for kitchen gadgets, pillows and plant accessories. My sister has purchased two identical sofa sleepers from here. For all the bad rap IKEA receives for it's furniture, I must say that those sofa sleepers are incredible comfortable and durable. I had to sleep on one for two weeks when I lost power from the storms. The sofa sits extremely wide so there was no need to pull out the bed and it was so comfortable and spacious. Then I have also sat on the sofa over my sisters house when she pulls it out wider as a lounge for the tv room and again that sofa is cushiony soft and very comfortable. I love it!!!! If the material weren't cloth I'd definitely purchase one myself and the price is GREAT. I only buy leather furniture because I have a fur-baby. On the occasion I will wonder over to the food court to checkout the action. I've tried the meatball plate of course, can't go to IKEA for the first time and not try the ikonic meatball plate. I thought it wasn't bad. This IKEA doesn't always have a variety of food options to choose from. On the second floor at the fast service food stand I've tried the cinnamon roll, not good at all to me. They have strawberry ice-cream listed but none available. I always forget about how much I love ikea until I'm there and get lost in the display room and marketplace. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon and there was not crowded, which is always a plus. I need some glassware for an upcoming event and figured this would be the most affordable place to grab some- and I was mostly correct! Upon entrance, there's an escalator, cart rack, an elevator, and double doors. I didn't have a ton of time and knew I needed to go right to the marketplace. I usually go through the display room first, and it was semi confusing to find the marketplace in its own. A couple people weren't sure where to go, so it might be a common issue. I think a bigger door and more visible signage would be super helpful! I found my way to the glassware and found some good options. These will be used for cocktails, and the super cute whiskey ones are available for $3 a piece. I grabbed a couple of those, I thought they would look great. They have some other basic options they sell in a larger pack. I got a 6 pack of 8oz glasses for around $8. They also have some martini glasses which seem to be great quality. All in all, they have something for every price range. I didn't have a ton of time to look through everything as I would have liked, but I am planning on coming back very soon. IKEA delivery was supposed to be dropped at door, instead your driver called me 5 times harassing me to be there to sign for it. When I didn't answer the door he refused to leave at the door because he didn't read the instructions correctly. When I called to ask how to get my package I was told by Tyrone the driver to "Figure it out yourself, go fuck yourself". I then called RXO to report it not delivered and was told it had already been marked delivered. It took me 3 hours of calling chasing people in circles to finally get my package late. I had multiple customer service reps telling me I was in the wrong and it was delivered already when the error was fully on their driver not me. When I asked for a refund if it would not be delivered I was just ignored, package didn't arrive until 3 days later. Package was damaged causing damage to the nightstand. I requested a supervisor call me with details on how it occurred and what would happen to the driver and it never happened. read more

This store is HUGE and needs to have electric carts available for their customers, even if we have to pay a little something to use one. I am aware that they do not provide electric carts at any of their European stores, but we have different laws and expectations. In Germany, they do virtually NOTHING for people with handicaps, but that is not true here! IKEA, step up and get some carts. More folks will be able to spend money in your store! read more

You know its your basic Ikea, in fact the nearest one I think is Chicago, so I've been going here for a while. Since COVID world it seems there are constant inventory issues here, even years later. Recently they did away with staffed check out and now like a sad trend everywhere, it's all 100% self check out. How ever if you have too many items or scan too quickly, the computer flags your sale and an associate needs to confirm your order, what a hassle. I hope this policy changes in the future. read more

I love going here, and I have nothing to complain about. There was a good spread of colors, materials and types of furniture and I think the price was just right. There's a tasty cafe, a area for your little ones and the place isn't frizzled up with dust or trash Restrooms are also clean, and service may take a long time, but it's well worth it. The parking lot is huge. I went at night, so it wasn't crowded. They have so many products and room displays that it's easy to feel slightly overwhelmed. There were plenty of Christmasy items displayed in October. Be sure to allow multiple hours for browsing to see everything Ikea has to offer. The only way it wouldn't take hours is if you want straight to one section and didn't look at anything else. I was disappointed that the escalator going up was broken. It isn't good to make customers search for an elevator or climb several flights of stairs to shop! read more

Service was fast! They had a pretty decent selection of food but since I needed something quick to eat, I opted for Chicken Tenders instead of the Swedish Meatballs plate. Super great store! Keep in mind you get what you pay for it. It's not always the best quality, but it will work for various projects. The return policy is also very great on because you don't have to keep your receipt. You can sign up for a card and all your receipts are tractors up. You're doing a lot of projects. It's a great way to keep things organized and you don't have to worry about if you lose a receipt. The cinnamon rolls are amazing. If you've never been to an IKEA, you should know it's overwhelming. The store is designed so you walk through a ton of sample rooms, the cafeteria and end up in the warehouse portion where you pick up any items you want. It is an experience, and knowing you'll spend at least an hour walking through the store is important! I love wandering around looking at all of the room set ups. I've also bought a few items from this IKEA and they have been great! Are they top of the line furniture? No. Did I want to scream at my boyfriend while self-assembling them? Yes. But I anticipated both of those things when I bought from here! The price makes it worth it. We have a couple of dressers and a bedside table - both work and have held up for a while. Great for furnishing rooms without breaking the bank like you might at a fancier furniture place. I for one love their Swedish meatballs. Reason I didn't make this 1 star is because I DO like IKEA- I have a good amount of IKEA furniture at home, they have quality items (although this location seems to be out of stock on a lot when I visit) this store is just an experience in itself. It's a tradition to get meatballs & cranberry sauce at the food court whenever visiting IKEA. This is rated based solely off my experience the last time being there; I drove over an hour away to get some lightbulbs and a plant. Two areas I specifically went to avoiding the showroom; at some point when bending down looking at lightbulbs on the lowest shelf, my phone fell out of my pocket. I didn't hear it. We're checking out, as I'm finishing up to leave I notice my phone isn't in my pocket anymore. I told the employee by self checkout I needed to find my phone, but the manager noticed me heading back to the shopping area and stopped me. It was 9pm and nobody was allowed back there anymore, I just told her my phone was back by the lightbulbs most likely and if someone could escort me back there that would be great. She said no, that one of her employees was checking the area to see if there were any more people. She never told him to check where my phone is at. I was visibly upset and I understand they have a policy, but my phone was gone and I just needed to get it before leaving it there all night and having to come back the next day. Another employee told me they opened at 9am the next day (wrong, they opened at 10am) but I hurried the next morning before work to get my phone from here thanks to the lady who never helped. They still did not let me in at 9am, due to their policy. I knocked on the window to get some help, and the morning workers were ignoring me. They threw their hands up, thinking I was trying to shop, when simply I needed help trying to get my phone. Another employee seen I was visibly upset about all this, so he went to grab their security to help. Thanks to the security, they looked and found my phone exactly where it was at, by the lights. It was such a hassle trying to get my phone, I waisted the next morning driving back to STL and another hour for someone to acknowledge me. But thankfully, some of the employees here WERE helpful and kind. This review is because the manager from the night before, shame on her for not actually trying to find it or contacting her co workers to look for it like I requested, where it may be. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had, came In because I purchased a bed frame the other day and went to build it one of the parts snapped in half. So went up today to the exchange counter to get a new spare part. The guy radioed back to the warehouse and said that they had the part in stock and says they would be up with the part in a couple minutes. The person behind the counter got busy, so I figured maybe they forgot and gave him some time to let his line die down. After it settled, it was an hour later so I went up and asked when I would see the part they had. He looked on his computer and said that they apparently didn't have the part now and to check back on Monday or Tuesday they should have some them. So I called the customer service line and they submitted a claim to take yhe part I needed from an inventory set. I don't understand how the person behind the counter wasn't able to simply do that or even offer that. All I got was a half attempt at a potential availability of a part may come in. read more

I purchased a "live" plant online. I went to pick it up. The plant had dried leaves in the pot, the leaves looked as if someone or something had taken bites out of it. I immediately walked over to return. I was met with the worse customer service ever. The micro aggression was on full display. I asked to speak with a store manager. I am still waiting for the phone call. I did officially contact IKEA and filed a complaint, and I also filed a complaint with the attorney general. By the way, the "customer service manger" is Ginger. Ginger: "You at the very least owe me a return phone call!" It's 2025, micro aggressive behavior is not considered good customer service. Refusing to follow up with a customer's experience on "your" watch, is also not considered good Customer service. Please remember: It is harder to get a "new" than it is to keep an "existing" customer. read more

While in the store during severe weather, absolutely no employee was on the same page regarding where we were supposed to shelter. I was chastised by an employee for sheltering in an area that the announcement over the loud speaker said was a shelter area. Numerous customers were allowed to stand by windows and watch the storm. It was completely disorganized. Everyone in that location needs training for severe weather situations and if the standard announcement over the loud speaker is wrong, it needs to be changed. read more

I haven't found this Ikea to be different than any other Ikea. It's well-stocked, massive, and fun to explore/browse. It's easy to navigate if you pull up the app on your phone or use the tablets in the stock area. They can be overpriced but can also have great deals. Look out for promotions. Love the cinnamon buns and swedish foods. read more
