I hadn't gotten in my 10,000 steps, but I knew I would be good because I was going to IKEA. Conveniently located right off 595 with plenty of parking. IKEA has everything you could need for a home, from kitchen goods to cabinets. They also sell food in their market have a café. Their prices are very reasonable. If you sign up for their free family membership you can sign up for their special events as well as get a free drink in the café. All employees I have encountered them very pleasant and energetic. It's always fun to go to IKEA and see what new things they have. Unfortunately, today a lot of items that we were looking for out of stock however, the ones that were in stock we're at great prices for the Easter sales It was such a pleasure to see so many cute children's items, and that a lot of the stock had been refreshed since we were last there so many new models of items which I've never seen before On multiple occasions, we had to check with the staff to try to find things in the store and every single time. IKEA started offering pre-scan shopping items on the IKEA app and then proceeding to the checkout line to scan your checkout code from the app to the register and it allows you to pay for everything at the checkout line! Finally IKEA has returned to colors beside black, white, and grey. I love the birch-tone furniture and bought a small BILLY bookcase to put my flatscreen tv on. You walk through the miles long of showroom looking at all the different things that you might possibly want, want and don't need or need but can't afford.Lol I came in here over the weekend with a friend who was looking for some bookshelves. Before coming to the store, we checked online to make sure the items were in stock, and they were. When you go to IKEA, you have the option to go to the showroom, or you can go into the self check out area and product pick up warehouse for what you need, all items are designated by an aisle and bin numbers: and depending what you're looking for most of the time this information will be on their website. So when you're in the warehouse, you just follow the aisle number and then to the bin number and you pick up what you need. It's very simple to shop at IKEA. It's actually fun too. We browsed through the showroom to look at the items before heading down to the warehouse to pick up the products and checking out. We were in and out within an hour and checkout was easy, at this specific IKEA, they only have self checkouts.. staff here is friendly, prices are great and throughout the store there's huge advertisements for cutbacks, sales and clearance deals. Even if you don't need anything, it's fun to come here and window shop and right by the checkout registers you'll find the IKEA cafeteria , where you can find Swedish meatballs, very delicious cinnamon rolls and several other items. Little disappointed in the live plant section though. It looked skimpy. This is not my first review of Ikea so I'll leave it at that! Today, I came here for the food since I was craving some Swedish Meatballs. But to my surprise they had a whole meal of 5 meatballs plus 2 sides for $2.99 which you really can't beat. I also got cod and a cheesecake. Food was yummy as always, although the vegetables are always bland but I think that adds to the Ikea charm. Aside from food, this is such a fun place to get lost in. I would sometimes just hang out with friends and walk aimlessly around the place. Although it truly is a maze, I haven't had a problem finding workers to guide you out. I also enjoy all the events and sales they have every now and then. I came here during a back to school event once and got a free table! It was a table building competition and the person who made it fastest got store credit. I did not win that but everyone could at least keep the table. My brother was gifted pillows and covers from our sister n law a while back and the prices were unbeatable. To get a pillow covers anywhere else; you're looking to spend at least $20 on one! I've been an Ikea customer for over three decades. I used to shop at the flagship/ headquarters in Delft for years. Since Ikea came to Sunrise I have shopped there often. This last trip was my worst one ever. Taste ever as in decades. There was no cashier. I'm already used to the poor notice of pre-scanning in the app. There was a section for self check out/self scan. My son and I had no other choice than to do this. When I inserted my credit card to pay, there was a delay of minutes. The attendant indicated this was common and had to reset or reboot the machine a few times. I needed to pick up my teen from high school and was delayed by around 15 minutes. The staff seemed to think this was "normal". This needs to change. I cannot be expected to endure this type of delay. People around us had to deal with the same nonsense. Ikea offers decent value on products but my time is more valuable. And, kids don't have the attention span to suffer these delays. read more

I drove down here "just" to get a couple of inexpensive pots and pans for my sons college apartment. UPDATE: Today I wanted to check out the Ikea Marketplace which sells Swedish foods. They also have a food counter selling hot foods but today only a few items were on display - hotdogs, pizza and cinnamon buns. In the marketplace, numerous food items were in the coolers and on the dry shelves. The Swedish jam was the most inviting to me for $4.99 a jar. The Swedish candies and pancakes looked good too both for resonable prices. The food ordering process is conducted through digital touch terminal that allows the customer to pick their item and then pay. The vendor then calls your name when your food is ready. As I was leaving, on the first floor they had a live human sized chess game on the floor in progress. The men's bathroom on the first floor was very clean. read more

The cafeteria is also a great place to grab a good meal for not much money..their Swedish meatballs are legendary.... What I am not crazy about is the maze like pattern you have to follow....it's like a one way street where it forces you to go a certain way....not easy to backtrack. We visited two nights before Christmas Eve and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not as chaotic as I had expected. BEWARE OF IKEA WARRANTY: purchased my Kitchen in 2013 and had to use my warranty after my shelf supporting my oven and microwave combo cracked making my oven fall forward out of the cabinet. The kitchen was installed through ikeas service team (Traemand). I've opened a warranty claim and after no contact for a week, I am being Quoted 2 months until I see resolution Since they don't sell the old shelf Anymore. Absolutely absurd! I'm supposed to leave my kitchen a mess for 2 month for someone to tell me the resolution. Worse they told me if I try to fix it myself - it will void my entire kitchen's warranty. So I can't do anything while I wait now. I've tried to escalate - 4 calls in one week and different responses from everyone. DO NOT BUY KITCHENS FROM IKEA! read more

The breakfast was very good and the prices excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The area was cute. I liked the tables used in the restaurant area. I liked them so much that I ended up getting a set lol. I am still thinking about the big round lamps. I did like the look. I wish I had the space. They look nice. Excellent service at the click and collect. I usually don't make my up to this location, but they had the doors that were on sale I needed in stock and I could kinda line things up in the area. The process was super easy, and the ability to request assistance of the friendly ikea staff to help me lift all of the doors into my car made the work quick and easy. This review is for the cafeteria. IKEA promotes it as a full-service restaurant, but the one close to home in Sunrise, has a medical center "cafeteria" vibe and setup. This is fine (for me), as I have always thought that hospital food is not only healthy but tasty--especially if you add S&P or any other available condiment to it. Such is the case with IKEA. They offer "green" wooden-like sporks, as well as silverware, glassware, and ceramic mugs for your dining pleasure. On this visit, I appreciated not only the service, but the delicious meal we had for less than $10. I mean, not even a fast food restaurant can beat that! I had plant-based meatballs with a side of mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans with cranberry sauce, a fountain drink, and a slice of strawberries & cream cake. It was like a Thanksgiving meal in March--no madness just muchness! The only reason they fell short of the perfect five stars is because the selection was scant. By the time we arrived, they still had three different types of meatballs but not much of anything else besides salads and wraps. Nonetheless, I recommend them and hope to return soon.
