This place is a gem! I don't know how there's not more people in here. Food is great made with care. Older ambiance but nonetheless, great overall. If you're staying near the Hilton Caribe looking for some sushi or Chinese food this is a great spot.

Stumbled upon this place while staying in our area during our honeymoon. This place reminded me of home. The owners were very polite and welcoming and the food tasted great! If I'm ever back to visit this island, this will definitely be on the list of places to come to again.

Ikura special roll and chicken teriyaki with white rice

Very impressed by the ikura special roll! My husband also liked his chicken teriyaki. Great flavor and portions. Definitely recommend this authentic sushi spot!

Big portion, friendly service, and delicious food. It is not authentic but tasty and big smile from owner is always a big plus. There are sushi counter and table seating.

Volcano roll was very good! Really creamy and flavors were pleasant. Bentos were okay, but still yum! Shrimp tempura is so crunchy and delicious! Flying fish roe nigiri is my favorite!!! 1000% recommend! Lovely restaurant

Small space run by a Japanese family. Service is great and food arrives fairly quickly, much unlike many restaurants here in PR. Fish was fresh and bento boxes were full of fresh and delicious food. Definitely recommend.

Small little sushi restaurant only open for takeout. I'd give this a 3.5-star review as the sushi was pretty good overall at a reasonable price relative to most. We tried three rolls and each were just a tad above average hence the rating!

    Dinner

This is the best sushi I've ever eaten- very fresh flavors and service was almost immediate- we ordered and it was ready in less than 5 minutes. The place is very clean and staff very friendly. Volcano roll is sweeter than expected but delicious and the Ikura special roll was my favorite- try the seafood spring rolls you won't regret it.

Delish food! This small restaurant is tiny but mighty. The 3 sushi rolls and chicken lo mein were very very good. Highly recommend!

This is an Asian cuisine specializing in south east Asia and Japanese food. Great service and decent food you can find near old San Juan.

We placed a large takeout order from Tayzan after seeing the long line outside and all the great…read morereviews. Since it was just a short walk from our hotel, we decided to give it a try. My parents had eaten here before and said it was really good, so we were excited to see if it lived up to the hype. The restaurant had a lively, bustling atmosphere, with a steady stream of customers dining in and picking up takeout orders. Even though it was busy, the staff kept things moving efficiently. Even for a large order, the wait was only about 30 minutes. They have a separate pickup area for to-go orders, which made the process organized and easy despite how busy they were. We ordered the beef fried rice, house fried rice, churrasco steak, house lo mein, sesame beef, jumbo shrimp, chicken wings, fried pork, pork ramen, and three sushi rolls. The kids in our family chose the Philly Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and Red Dragon Roll, and they really enjoyed them. I had originally planned to order a different sushi roll from the menu, but it wasn't available that day. It wasn't a big deal, though, because the rolls we did get were fresh and delicious. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. The churrasco steak was my personal favorite--the meat was incredibly tender and already well seasoned on its own. My husband wasn't a fan of the accompanying sauce, but he agreed the steak itself was excellent. We also really enjoyed the fried rice, and the portions were generous. They were also generous with the condiments and included a variety of sauces with our order, which we appreciated. The only thing we missed was chili oil, since it's a condiment we usually expect to have available at Chinese restaurants. If you're staying nearby or looking for a restaurant that offers both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, Tayzan is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for a crowd--it seems to be popular for a reason!
