This place is a hidden gem. I'm from Philly and the flavors of this place was on point! They were legit Cantonese style food. I felt an instant connection when the wait staff started speaking Cantonese to me. .

The food here was amazing! We stayed at the Holiday Inn and came here at least 3 times our whole stay! It was truly delicious and the staff was very friendly. We had the sweet and sour chicken , pan friend noodles and i tried the guava sushi roll and loved it. I totally recommend this place and will be back

Unbelievably fresh. Great rolls, friendly staff, wish this place was in our home town.

View from the table on the outside patio. Love the ambiance!

It was 11 PM Saturday night and we were looking for a late night place to eat, when lo and behold, Kosan was open. On Fridays and Saturdays they are open till 2 AM. Woo hoo! The rest of the week they're open till 12 AM which is still very reasonable. We were staying at the La Concha Renaissance hotel and it was only a three minute walk from there. I can't comment on the interior of the restaurant because we didn't go in. It was a breezy night and we could hear the live music wafting in from the other restaurant across the street commingled with the music that they were playing at this restaurant and the hanging Twinkie lights surrounding the patio were so pretty that we opted to eat outside on the front patio. The calliope of music, lights and breezes made for a really nice ambience. I did however, notice another couple go in and come back out, remarking that it was cold inside. So you might want to bring your jacket if you're going to dine inside. I didn't catch our friendly servers name, but I appreciated her honesty and really liked her because she knew the menu well and suggested things that she thought I would like and told me there were some items that she didn't think I would be happy with. The menu was Quite Extensive and it's mostly Chinese and Japanese but they do also have Vietnamese spring rolls, Hawaiian fried rice, Singapore style noodles with curry and two types of steaks, one being ribeye. Their drink menu is pretty large as well. They have a variety of juices, Coke products, hot and cold teas. They have a full selection of cocktails and wines. As for beers there are Japanese, American, Mexican and Puerto Rican. They actually have desserts, six of them. I won't go into what types, but I did take a picture of the dessert menu. I started with a refreshing, homemade lemonade. It was actually very good. There are no refills on that drink. I'm not sure if they give refills on fountain drinks. We ordered: - Philadelphia roll- eight pieces of very fresh fish with a decent size piece of avocado and cream cheese. Yummy! - Salt and Pepper fried fish- crispy flat slices of well seasoned, deep fried fish, coated with what seemed to be a cornstarch batter and served on a bed of fresh crispy lettuce with caramelized fried onions and hot peppers. We were trying to scoop up the caramelized onion crumbs and realized that the lettuce tasted delicious as it had the flavored oil from the sautéed red peppers and onions. It also came with a little bowl of yummy hot chili paste. (my mouth is watering remembering how just good it all was) -Sweet and Sour chicken, it was decent size portion. It was tasty. - Fried rice- both dishes came with an option of steamed or fried rice. We chose fried rice for two extra dollars. It had bits of egg in there and was actually pretty tasty. I wish we had more people with us so we could've ordered more things. The presentation of their food was really gorgeous like some fancy high end Japanese restaurant. I know this this because I was seeing other orders going by, mostly rolls, and they looked mouthwateringly (is that a word ?) amazing. I almost wanted to ask the other diners if I could take pictures of their food. Everything that we tried was delicious, the service was great and the ambience was really fun. Honestly, I think we might go back again tonight as there are so many different types of food on the menu it's like eating at a different restaurant each time lol. I really enjoyed the ambience of the outdoor patio and I think it would be a great place to take someone. You gotta try this place, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Great food all 8 of us really enjoyed the meal. Even the kids were happy. Very polite staff. Would definitely recommend!

Several sushi rolls that were absolutely incredible!

Wow wow wow! What a gem! Lots of places say sushi & Asian food in this neighborhood but there is one true King! Incredible food. Sushi is top notch. We even bought noodles for plane ride home. This is as authentic as it gets. Old-school Asian restaurant field with Asians, working and preparing the food. The service is good, but even if it isn't, don't be put off this food is worth it.

I admittedly had low expectations for Chinese food in PR, but the lo mein with chicken was delicious! They also had a few vegan options, like the imperial ginger w tofu (essentially sweet & sour tofu) that comes with a side of rice. My lo mein did not come with a side of rice but the portion size could be split among two people, and you can add a side of rice for a small up charge. The vibe is a black & red Asian decor, with a rap around bar and a few restaurant tables. There is also a walk-up boba bar attached that's available on the dining menu.

We tried the pan fried veggie dumplings, scallion pancake, hongkong noodles, imperial ginger tofu, black bean chicken, ube pudding and donut with condensed milk. Also 4 drinks - ranging from floral soju based, tropical gin based to fruity bourbon ones. Everything tasted alright - but don't go here expecting authentic flavors - just get ur trip fix ins for asian inspired food. Also I'd skip the imperial ginger and anything that has sweet spicy description as those dishes only lean toward sweet sugary sauce flavors. Service is good but they took really long to come out with the desserts and then the check.

Reservations are a must and I would suggest reservations inside because outside is was too hot and the view of a parking lot does not do the food or restaurant justice. What we ordered! Cocktail: Raya Mai Tai offered a unique take on a Mai Tai. The mint and coconut lead the parade of flavors for this interesting take on a classic cocktail. Short rib nachos- packed with flavor! Every nacho was perfectly stacked with just the right amount of ingredients wanting you to keep coming back for more! Plantain chorizo wonton - perfection! Not much more to say about this appetizer. Duck Pegao Fried Rice - duck confit, fried rice and sweet plantains were the outstanding trifecta of savory, salty and sweet flavors in every bite! The texture of the fried price and tender duck confit were a foodies delight. Mongolian Wagyu Brisket - tender no knife needed, melted in your mouth! The brisket had just the right amount of soy glaze, and was served with a bowl of fried white rice, kimchi, and sliced avocado. Surprise bonus compliments of the restaurant: Onion soup - served in a tiny bowl a little larger than a shot glass was a great way to get our taste buds ready for the main entrees. Parking is a bit of a downside since there isn't much available, so I had to pay for parking. Once inside, though, everything moved incredibly fast. I got my food in less than 10 minutes, which is probably the fastest I've ever been served at a restaurant. It almost made me question how fresh it was, but after eating, I can say it was actually very good. I ordered the grilled white fish with lemon and egg fried rice with yum yum sauce on the side, plus shrimp tempura sushi to go. The yum yum sauce tasted like a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise, but when I mixed it with the fried rice, it was really, really good. The fish itself was tasty but needed more salt I ended up adding salt and squeezing lime over it to bring out the flavor. It seemed like it was only seasoned during marination and not finished properly. The salad wasn't anything special, but overall, for how quickly the food came out, the quality was impressive. Portions are generous, and the pricing matches what you get. We came around midnight and left close to 1 AM when they were closing. The place looked packed, but service was still quick and efficient. Great flavors but the execution could improve. I would have like the 'bacalaito' to be more crispy. - Cabrito Dumpling: Tender goat stew dumpling with Asian spices. It was tasty but be mindful that the 'cabrito' flavors are rich and intense specially in this take. Also the dough was a little thick to my liking. Tender pieces of steak mixed with an egg yolk to give it the perfect smoothness and richness. This dish delivered the best umami flavors. The noodles had great texture. - A la Vietnamita, Chuleta: The 'chuleta' (pork chop) were perfectly cooked, tasty. I fought for the bone piece. Comes with side of lettuce leaves, to make wraps. - Where's the Beef: Grilled picanha steak, we ask for medium, it was juice and flavorful. Comes with a delicious crying tiger béarnaise sauce.
