Was walking around looking for something easy and not too heavy and saw that they had an octopus salad, so I decided to stop and eat here. I wanted to be seated in the air conditioned dining area, but I was dining alone and they didn't have single seating inside, so I was seated in the outdoor area. Fortunately, it was cooler today than it's been, so I was comfortable enough. The octopus salad was good, but not quite as tasty and tender as I've had at restaurants in Portugal and Spain. They brought a whole bag of sliced bread to the table (about 6 slices) and there was olive oil and balsamic vinegar at the table. Cost was reasonable; 10 euros plus 2 as a "cover charge". The octopus salad came with tomatoes and Kalamata olives on a very small bed of arugula. It was the perfect amount for me as I wanted something light. read more

This place is awesome. There are so many waiters and they handle it in a way that any waiter will help out with bringing you what you need. We came here twice, once with just two of us and the second time with six of us. The pizza is excellent, we ordered the margherita, and another one with a meat topping and both were outstanding. My wife enjoyed the risotto and I enjoyed the ravioli. My parents enjoyed the sea bream; it came whole, but they filleted it for us. The wine and beer is good and they give you complimentary Limoncello after your meal which was a nice gesture. It gets a little busy during the dinner service, but they were able to handle the volume and not slow down service. A truly well run restaurant. read more

We found this during our stay in Sorrento. The staff was very friendly and our pizzas came out so quic. Our bottle of wine came out a bit after our food, so we were gifted tiramisu after our meal. We ordered 2 pizzas - they were both delicious, but the pistachio one was absolutely amazing. At the end, we were also given limoncello shots. Every server thanked us at the end and was sure to tell us goodbye when we left. We will definitely be back again! read more

Came here because of the proximity to my hotel and great google reviews. Ordered a mix of items and was extremely disappointed. This place was awesome. After trying to get a cab for an hour at the Sorrento station, we found this place on Yelp. I ordered two appetizers(thinking they were going to be small) the octopus salad and the mussels, both were massive! The mussels were some of the best mussels I've ever had. The octopus salad was delicious as well. My boyfriend ordered a margherita pizza that must've been amazing because he didn't even save me one bite. After we were done eating, they were nice enough to call us a cab to pick us up directly at the restaurant. We came in for dinner after a long day of sightseeing in Capri and Sorrento. I ordered the Lamb and my husband had the veal with lemon sauce. We were on a trip through Italy and this was our last and worst experience in Italy. My wife ordered a pizza with no cheese and oil and it was covered in oil when it came out 40 MINUTES after we ordered it. The food was good, but we felt like second class citizens. No one ever came by to check on us or update us on our orders. It took me 20 minutes just to get the beer right when I got there. Great seating outside, but we felt like we wasted our last few hours in Sorrento waiting for these guys to wait on us. We got a free cannolli because they knew they had not happy customers. Dined here for lunch on July 4, 2023. If I could give zero stars I would. This was the worst place my family and I dined in during our one week stay in Italy. We did a day trip from Rome and our driver highly recommended this restaurant so we arrived thinking we were going to a decent place for lunch. What a horrible recommendation this turned out to be. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone! First we were seated inside at a cramped table in the corner. Way too close to the diners seated right next to us that I had to squeeze through a small space each time I needed to get out of my chair. We also waited for what seemed like an eternity for a server to take our order. We watched as several servers walked by our table and each one would avoid making eye contact. Finally, I had to flag down a few who did not look very happy at all and was told by the first guy that someone would be coming to our table. When no one ever came my family and I were ready to walk out and find another place, but I flagged another server down and he finally took our order. Honestly, none of the people who work here look very happy to be there. That speaks volumes and it usually starts from the management on down. Not sure why this place was very busy. This place is the textbook definition of a tourist trap. Absolutely nothing that we ordered was good. The wine was of poor quality and tasted acidic. The waiter didn't even pour a little bit to allow us to taste if the wine was good and served the entire party to prevent us from voicing our thoughts. The appetizers we ordered, the assorted cheese and the mixed cold cuts and mozzarella, tasted awful and had cheese that was clearly processed. The cheeses also came on lettuce that appeared rotten and not fresh. Then there were the pizzas, all of which had soggy crust, were absurdly greasy, and weren't even cut into slices. The toppings were also flavorless and not fresh. Nobody in my party finished theirs and all of us felt nauseous from what we did eat. We loved this restaurant! After going to other restaurants that felt like tourist traps, we came here on our third night and really enjoyed the food but it was the service that brought us back. I think we must have been unlucky. Or something. We were not impressed. Our tour brought us here for lunch. Supposedly they have good pizza. So we ordered a pizza to share, plus some individual entrees. The pizza was mediocre. We've had better in the US, and much better in Italy (Florence...it was sooooo good there). The individual entrees were a mixed bag. My pasta bolognese was pretty good. A solid 3 stars. My wife thought her salad was barely adequate. Let me start by saying the pizza Sorrento was excellent. The pizza is covered with cheese, french fries, pepperoni and prosciutto ham and is delicious. I also got the minestrone soup which was excellent. The regular pepperoni pizza is a four out of five stars. The rigatoni is also decent but not amazing. Service is slow but there is no cover charge and tip is not required. They did not charge for bread. By the way the free bread here is excellent. This place is the best meal we've had in Sorrento (twice!). We've gone there twice now and I can say confidently that this place has it going on. The food is really fresh. We were a group of 6 both times sharing plates family style. Between the two visits we've tried the bruschetta both times, salumi platter, cheese platter, prosciutto and melon, two different fish platters, the prosciutto and fungi pizza both times (which is amazing - made traditional Napoleon style, cooked quickly and at your table before anything else!), and the pasta bolognese. And I have to tell you that my husband gets bolognese in every restaurant we go to that serves it. It's his favorite dish. He says this is one of his favorites he's had in the world. We are also wine lovers and found the selection to be very good. The service is also attentive and quick. Mariano helped us both evenings and was a delight. We enjoyed a Chianti Superiore on our second visit that he recommended. He was helpful, fun to talk with, and took joy in our love of his food and service. What more can you ask for? Oh, and the prices are fantastic! And to finish out meal we receive a complimentary limoncello shot. Perfetto both times! This will be our place whenever we come to Sorrento. Grazie. Grazie. Grazie. Hilariously enough, my friend picked this place due to TripAdvisor reviews beforehand and once we arrived and got out of the train station, we saw a sign pointing to the direction of the restaurant. I went with friends and we were a party of 4. We arrived around 6 and were seated immediately (Because silly Americans, Italians eat at 9!) My boyfriend and I ordered the mozzarella and prosciutto for starter (it was huge!!) and we both ordered pasta dishes. I had the spaghetti alle vongole and it was also huge. The dishes were bigger portions than I have had in Italy, so it was a good price. They were pretty good also. Overall a nice space and close to the train station, decent service, and after our lunch they gave us some free limoncello which was very nice. I just wish our food was better. As we were leaving we saw someone else who ordered pizza and that looked pretty good but our pasta and risotto were very mediocre. The broccoli was either over cooked or had been previously frozen in one dish and my mushroom risotto was not what I expected for a good Italian restaurant, a little flat in flavor and mushrooms were also very mushy. We have visited this restaurant twice since we arrived here four days ago. Our hotel suggested this place to use because my partner and I both have Celiac Disease. We ordered the Sicilian style pasta dish with gluten-free pasta and it was AMAZING. The servers were on their A-game. We had dinner for two (both gluten-free), .5 litres of wine and dessert...One Panna Cotta and one very large fruit salad and coffee. Our bill totaled 36 euros. At the end they also brought us two shots of limoncello which were delicious. At some point a person who seemed to be a manager brought the limoncello bottle over suggesting "one more". We agreed and he filled our shot glasses and then set the whole bottle down. I couldn't believe the amount of food we received for such reasonable prices or the hospitality. My fruit salad was great. The Panna Cotta was exceptional and the wine was great. Having lived in the U.S. my entire life I have avoided wine as I've never enjoyed any that I've tried. We've had wine at every meal not including breakfast each day we've been here. Most servers understand when you say "senza glutine?" or "Sono celiaca". The hotel my wife and I were staying at recommended Il Leone Rosso. We were glad to see that it was open at 4:00 pm as most restaurants are closed until the evening. We started with Misto do Salumi and the Calamari gratinati as appetizers, both were nicely presented and tasted fresh. We shared an order of Zuppa do pesce for our main course, again everything was fresh. I do have two complaints; the sea bass had several small bones, but then again you can't expect to have fresh fish without having a bone or two and the olive oil bottle on the table was slimy from oil dripping down the side. Overall my wife and I enjoyed our meal and would recommend this place for dinner. read more
