    Eggplant Parmigiana

Stumbled upon this cute inviting spot since it was the only place open between 2-5pm. The most delicious eggplants parmigiana with the most gracious host. Grazzi to Mateo's mom!

Bar area, with the best chef/bartender! Loved sitting here watching him make his creations.

Seriously one of our best highlights from our visit in Firenze! So good we came back twice. The atmosphere, wine selection, and tapas were all you could ask for. Thank you for making our stop here the most memorable - we can't wait to come back!

This magical little bar was around the corner from our place...and we couldn't believe our luck. The food and wine and service is perfection. My husband and I tucked ourselves in a little corner and fell in love....with the shop and each other.

Excellent place to have a variety of cheeses, dried meats and more, you must try the Artichoke Soufflé, the Liver Pâté, meatballs, and whatever they have on the menu as it changes every week!

This was a great spot to spend the afternoon in Florence. It was one of our favorite places during our entire visit to Italy. It was quaint and the perfect spot to grab a small bite enjoy a bottle of wine. The staff was very friendly and helped us translate the menu. Overall it was a great experience and everything on the menu was delicious.

If you are looking for the absolute best aperitivo wine bar in all of Florence seek this place out. I would literally walk past every day and see if there were any seats available... either along the back wall or at the bar... which you can spot from the door. If there was one, I would take it and enjoy a fantastic glass of wine and it's unbelievable free aperitivo. One of the best wine bars in the world. Check it out off hours and it will be perfect.

Have a seat at the bar and don't open the menu: just invite your host to set you up with wine by the glass and matching appetizers. There's 20 open bottles at the end of the bar- each carefully selected as the best Tuscany has to offer. Your snacks are small producer cured meats and cheeses on perfect breads, lovingly put together right in front of your eyes. Bourdain never came here but he should have, because it's like joining someone in their kitchen for an informal exploration of food and wine. I was lucky enough to be served by the husband and wife team who owns the restaurant - their music selections were spot-on as well!

Love this place! The best prosciutto, served with great personality by exceedingly good looking men! Come for a glass of wine and a little bite before dinner. We'll be back.

Nice, cozy place. My first stop in Florence this time around. Many places were closed in the afternoon and I was happy to find it.

It's close enough to the lively, bustling part of Firenze to feel connected, yet just far enough to escape the city's never-ending wave of tourists. The service was incredible, and the owner (I'm pretty sure it was the owner?) brought so much energy that he single-handedly turned the whole place into an eclectic little spot during the "rush hour" of the evening. The menu was solid, if a bit "generic" at times. While everything we ordered was delicious, nothing at Trattoria Giovanni felt like a dish you couldn't find elsewhere... and honestly, that's perfectly fine! It was traditional, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. The plate of cured meats and cheese was phenomenal, a great start to the meal. The pastas were really good as well, though one of the meat dishes had a slightly off texture, with the chunks of meat a bit overcooked. All in all, we loved our meal and would definitely recommend this spot if you're in Florence.

Instead, without even asking for my name or checking my reservation, a young host walked me out the door and across the street into a completely different dining area. The room I was placed in looked nothing like what was advertised: it was brightly lit, with paper napkins, cheap silverware, and visibly dirty walls. The whole place felt like a low-end lunch diner -- not a charming Florentine restaurant. They were blasting Highway to the Danger Zone and I Wanna Dance with Somebody while the main restaurant -- the one I thought I had booked -- played soft Italian music that actually fit the fine dining experience. The contrast was insulting. I was dressed in an upscale outfit appropriate for a refined dinner, yet I was treated as though I didn't belong. It felt discriminatory and dismissive. To make matters worse, at the end they tried to pressure me into tipping on the card machine -- in Italy, where tipping isn't even customary. The entire experience felt like a bait-and-switch, and I left feeling disrespected, singled out, and completely disappointed.

This was incredible - just melt in your mouth. You have to get this! *Ravioli di Peposo di Manzo al Burro e Timo (Ravioli Stuffed with Stewed Peppered Beef and Tossed in Butter and Thyme) - Peposo is a classic Tuscan dish that's usually tough cuts of meat cooked down in Chianti wine. Loved this 'twist' on a classic dish. They also so kindly split this portion for us which was perfect. The Peposo was perfection; if they just had Peposo as a dish, I'd order it! *Bistecca dell'Osteria (House Specialty Bone In Steak) - the star of the show!! Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €. Prices were unbelievable! We were amazed at the quality, the service and how large the restaurant they relocated to was. It was like a well oiled machine. The food coming out quickly and efficiently.
