Once we arrived in Florence we settled in our B&B and went out to grab a bite. I was excited to see so many high rated restaurants on Yelp and decided to check this place out since it was closest to me! We swung by around 7 PM and did not need a reservation but did notice the restaurant filled up after 8 PM. I ordered the creamy truffle pasta which was so delicious. My husband ordered the Tuscan sausages which was not his favorite so I would stick to the pasta! We did notice the waiter was more attentive to the locals/Italian customers but the service was not bad!

OMG. Yum! Maltagliati al brasato di Guancia đi mucca

BEST RESTAURANT IN ITALY. HANDS DOWN! We had reservations for a late lunch/early dinner at 15:30. Parallel parked our car near the shops and did a little bit of shopping at Gucci before going to lunch. Located just a couple blocks over the bridge, was the best restaurant I've been to in Italy. Everything was so delicious. Even the wine recommendation that accompanied our meal was amazing. We felt tipsy and great afterwards. It rained in the morning and so we ordered the following items which warmed our souls: - Chianti Classico (Red Wine) - Caprese Salad (a recent add to the menu) - Maltagliati al Brasato di Guancia di Mucca (twice boiled minestrone soup) - Tagliatelle al Funghi Porcini (Yum!) - Pappardelle al Cinghiale - Steak Fiorentine Every single dish was to die for! I especially loved our waiter! He was very hilarious and the sweetest man! The ambiance is romantic. Bathrooms were clean. Even the still water was in a beautiful bottle. Parking is free in the area. Like, what?! I love Italy!

This place was lovely! The staff was so kind. One of the workers was singing making it feel very homey. It was a great environment. The pasta we had was good but the ravioli was even better. Would absolutely go back! Pineapple was fresh and nicely cut. The area was safe and close to a gelato spot!

    Overcooked pasta but good mushrooms.

Tried this place after the Pitti Palace. Saw some great reviews but our experience was so so. We've had some great food throughout our trip in Italy and this one wasn't very memorable. The mushroom pasta was ok, I was surprised to taste soggy overcooked noodles as everywhere else has been Al Dente. Was very oily too. The service was kind and attentive. Inside was cute. Maybe we just ordered the wrong food but wouldn't go back.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The pasta was very good. The rabbit reminded me of chicken pot pie and the wine went well with the meal. We were seating immediately without a reservation and the staff spoke English well enough. It has a cute interior inside with a few small rooms in the building.

    Cow Cheek Pasta

The food was spectacular, we got the cheese and cold cuts platter which paired greatly with the bread. Then each member of my family got a pasta dish which we all loved. My mom raved about the Truffle Cream pasta that she got. The cow cheek ragu pasta was extremely tender and tasted great. The wine selection was very good, and our waiter Nicolo was exceptionally helpful giving us suggestions. They even took pictures of our family and each table was gifted a Lemoncello shot when dinner was over. The music was great in the background and the inside is very clean and made for a great last family meal in Florence! Would definitely recommend for other families visiting Florence!

Food: Had to try Tuscan food and loved that many classics were on this menu. The bone marrow is SO tender. The recipe is chef's secret but it reminds me of tomato stew with some cooked down veges. The pappardelle with wild boar sauce is a drier pasta, but great portion of meat. Their Savoy cabbage was also a great side if you're looking for some vegetables. Tiramisu could've used some alcohol. It was mostly cream. Service: So nice!! Made us feel right at home. We got there 2 minutes after opening without reservations and we were able to grab a seat on a Sunday night. However they were turning people away 30 minutes after opening. Probably make a reservation or show up super early.

What can I say about this restaurant, other than it was amazing! Came here on our final night in Florence, as we read great reviews. The reviews didn't do this place justice honestly. The owners were super friendly and the food was astonishing. We ordered quite a few dishes for the 3 of us, so we had to take home leftovers. My favorite by far was the pasta with truffle sauce, but all of the dishes were amazing. We had a really great experience here. Will definitely be returning if we are in Florence again! If you are in Florence, you will not be disappointed by coming here.

    Beef stew pasta

A decent Italian restaurant. Servers were super friendly but the food wasn't what we expected. Started with the tomato soup, please don't be mistaken by the name "soup", it was a soggy bread crumbs soaked up by the tomato soup. It looked exactly like a tomato colored risotto. For 9 euros, it can fill me up without a problem at all. We did tried to finish half, but we gave up at the end hoping not to miss out on the pasta that we ordered. We got the beef stewed pasta and the truffle pasta. Luckily, both of the amount were fairly light and we got to finish those. Beef stewed pasta was on the salty side with lots of beef and little pasta. Flavor tasted exactly like the beef stew in the US. The truffle pasta had no real pieces of truffle and it was a bit bland. It was disappointed after learning they didn't made the pasta themselves. Not sure what was their speciality.

Found this Gem on Yelp! We were excited to try the Florentine Steak and it did not disappoint! It is sold by the Kilogram (2.2 pounds or something close) so we shared it between 3 people and still had a bunch left. It was really tender and super flavorful. We also had a pasta with truffle cream sauce and gnocchi with Gorgonzola and walnut sauce. It was absolutely delicious! The gnocchi melted in your mouth. I would definitely recommend going a little off the beaten path in Florence and trying out this delicious place.

Best ribollita we've had on vacation! We also loved the ragu. We're able to be seated without a reservation at 7:30pm on a weeknight.

On top of the pain of securing a reservation (they only take these over the phone; no online system), the only slot I could secure even as a solo diner was as soon as they opened, at 6pm, and via a bar seat. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by several of the staff, all warm/kind. One of them offered me a table, even though I humbly mentioned I'd be fine with whatever was convenient to them. I looked around and saw what seemed to be majority American tourists so I had very standard expectations. Well, what commenced...my god. I'm getting chills now thinking about the entire experience. Just the absolute perfect dinner my first night in Florence. Everything on the menu looked fantastic and I was even tempted to order 2 Primi (pastas) but my server discouraged it, said they were quite large. Instead she guided towards the "must" appetizer, the "onion flan with pecorino cheese and truffle" followed by their signature pasta, "pappardelle with wild boar ragù" The appetizer literally brought me to tears as soon as I took a bite. I didn't think I liked truffle but this was life-changing. And the pasta was served piping hot and also to die for. I complemented the meal with a delicious glass of white and red and ended with the utterly divine tiramisu. I will be dreaming about this meal for years to come. So epic.

You might get lucky if you show up right when they open, but Florence seems to get busier every year and I wouldn't count on it. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for when you picture a fun night in Florence--great music, laughter, conversation, shared tables, excellent wine, and people genuinely enjoying themselves. It's lively without feeling touristy and somehow manages to feel both energetic and intimate at the same time. Our server, Lorenzo, was phenomenal. He helped us select a bottle of 2021 Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico, which ended up being my favorite wine of the entire trip. We started with buttered toast and anchovies. It sounds incredibly simple, but it was one of the most memorable bites we had in Italy. We shared the duck ragù pasta, lasagna, osso buco, and lamb chop. Every dish was excellent, but the duck ragù and lamb were standouts. We finished with a raspberry tiramisu that was the perfect ending to the meal. The food was fantastic, the wine was fantastic, the service was fantastic, and the ambiance was everything you could want. P.S. If you can't get in, don't panic--the restaurant across the street is also very good. But if you can get a table here, do it.

What a fun place to be! The food was absolutely amazing. When we saw them slicing the salami right in front of us, we decided to order the salami plate and we were so glad we did! The zucchini flower and saffron pasta was bursting with flavor and the pasta was so perfectly cooked. I couldn't get enough! The duck ragu pasta was also hearty, rich, and delicious. The sauce was so good, my family soaked up every last bit with our bread. The ricotta spinach ravioli was also amazing!! Again the sauce was such a standout. The ravioli was so fresh with the perfect amount of bite. The green pepper sauce steak was soooo good. Cooked perfectly, with such a unique sauce that the whole peppercorns added perfectly to in texture and spice. Finally, the raspberry tiramisu. We were so full, but when they set these down our dessert stomachs were ready. They were amazing! Not the strongest raspberry flavor, but still such a delicious end to the meal. Side note, you MUST have a reservation to eat here, and they only take reservations by call. Because I didn't have a way to call them, I asked my Airbnb hosts who did it for me (also amazing people). While we were eating, there was a crowd forming outside of people waiting to get in but unable to. It's so worth it to visit Vini e Vecchi Sappori! I'll definitely have to come back next time I'm in Florence.

The whole place felt like a low-end lunch diner -- not a charming Florentine restaurant. They were blasting Highway to the Danger Zone and I Wanna Dance with Somebody while the main restaurant -- the one I thought I had booked -- played soft Italian music that actually fit the fine dining experience. The contrast was insulting. I was dressed in an upscale outfit appropriate for a refined dinner, yet I was treated as though I didn't belong. It felt discriminatory and dismissive. To make matters worse, at the end they tried to pressure me into tipping on the card machine -- in Italy, where tipping isn't even customary. The entire experience felt like a bait-and-switch, and I left feeling disrespected, singled out, and completely disappointed.

The vibe itself is cool (automatic door walking in, dungeon-like walls with cute decorations). Walking to your table you walk by a huge wine selection, which can be overwhelming. We started with the asparagus and peas salad. This was pretty solid, simple but it worked. We grabbed the spaghetti with the cream of asparagus-normally wouldn't order so much asparagus but this was the pasta that sounded the most interesting to us and we did ultimately end up enjoying the sauce quite a bit and it was one of the better pasta dishes we had in Italy. Got a side of the white beans which we probably didn't need but didn't mind. The steak: first of all it's very sizable. The Florentine way is rarer than I would ever order a steak and while I'm glad I tried it, I probably wouldn't choose it again. It's an interesting ordering process as you're essentially given the sizes they have left there for the night so you never know walking exactly how much you'll pay. I do appreciate that they cut it for you but I did feel like some of the meat was still on the bone (not that we really needed MORE meat I just didn't want to waste any). The flavoring is pretty good but there are definitely bites that are better than the others. The service was a bit mixed. There were times they were interested in talking with us while others they didn't seem so interested and a bit aloof. This was especially true when we went to check out. Looking for a place to eat, found this gem and realized I wanted to try it. Everyone had told us…read moredinner reservations were a MUST here, but didn't think about it. Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €. Prices were unbelievable! We were amazed at the quality, the service and how large the restaurant they relocated to was. It was like a well oiled machine. The food coming out quickly and efficiently. I will 100% be back if I return to Florence!

What a maze of a restaurant, super interesting decor and set up. Such a cute restaurant with so…read moremany "rooms". Definitely can tell the old building and maybe they had expanded over the years. The service was amazing and the food delicious. This is one of the places that friends recommended and it's also on the list of many influencers. Tourist trappy, maybe. But the food was totally worth it. We were in the area around 4:30PM and decided to stop in, totally not expecting much as we didn't make a reservation but figured if they're open and not busy, why not give them a try. The most memorable dish we had was the appetizer we order - fried polenta with mushrooms and chicken liver pate, the polenta fried crispy, the mushrooms creamy and the chicken liver pate so smooth and savory. We also ordered 2 pasta dishes - wild boar sauce pappardelle and spaghetti alla carbonara. So tasty and with depth of flavors. Paired well with the house white wine we ordered as well. Definitely a spot you don't want to miss when in Florence.

Big tip...if you do the same line up to the right side of the door to this restaurant. To the left is reservations only. Once they opened, we were first in line we were thrilled to get a table outdoors. Wait staff were very nice. We shared a large beer, enjoyed the complimentary croutons and bread. Our order was a delicious caprese. Ooooh the mozzarella so creamy, tomatoes delicious. Our mains were the creamy tortellini and the chicken with roasted potatoes. Total yum in each bite. Happy we ended our week in the lovely city of Florence at this establishment. Highly recommend.

The ambiance of this place is nice. It feels homey. Service was ok, not overly friendly, but not bad. This place gets packed because I think a lot of people recommend this place. The food is just meh. For all of the GOOD FOOD we had in Italy, this was probably one of the worst ones. (Probably only a couple of not great experiences, I would say) My "duck sauce" was DRY and the meat was stringy and old tasting. My hubs chicken was ok, but it was like he was eating a Costco rotisserie chicken. Which, I mean is good, but we paid was more than 5 bucks for it. And we got a side of spinach that was just cooked to oblivion... It was like I was eating baby food. NO THANKS.
