Prices are slightly higher than the bigger Korean supermarkets (like Galleria or HMart in Toronto), but comparable to other Japanese supermarkets that I've been to. The stores are clean and well lit. I think the owners are Korean as they carry lots of Korean foods and the majority of their prepared meals are Korean. I have fond memories of Eden from when I was living in Montreal, first as a poor and starving undergrad, then as a poorer and more starving grad student, lol. I would typically buy my groceries at Segal's Market and Marche Lobo, but when I had some extra money (i.e. after my birthday and Christmas) I would splurge at Eden. I love their baked goods display. Seeing knishes, arancini, empanadas, Jamaican patties, and samosas all together in one display is so symbolic of the cultural mosaic that is Canada. The sushi at Eden, although pre-packaged, is very good (for grocery store sushi) and much cheaper than at Loblaws and other such places. The grocery store is very clean and well lit. Staff are nice. There have been a few renovations over the years and it's much more modern looking now than when I lived in Montreal. There will always be a special place in my heart for Eden ;)

This is one of the best Mexican bodegas I have come across in Montreal. Need a piñata for a kids party but don't want to be gouged on Amazon? Check. How about dried corn husks for making tamales? Check. Need to feed that late night salty chicharron snack urge? Check. Here there was a fantastic selection of everything you need for your fiesta or taco party and then some! For me I came in search of one of my fave seasoning. It is called Baida complete. See folks instead of buying that taco seasoning at IGA or Metro buy a bottle of this. Thank me later :) Also if you want a second seasoning suggestion pick up a small bottle of Goya pepper. It's great on fish but use sparingly as it is more salty. Both should last you over a year (unless you make tacos every week). Got also some tomatillo salsa and everything was under $15. To pay is cash or Interac only. Be aware. We didn't finish our selection at 8pm (the closing time) but almost at the end. However, there was one employee very rushed push us to leave, we just have one or two item need to select. She didn't want to help but only spoke loudly to us just the store need to be closed, but based on my experience no store in Canada push customer to leave as long as customer step into the store before the closing time. My wife is pregnant, she couldn't move fast and felt sad and angry about this thing. There is no respect from the the employee at this store. Please avoid this store. It was really a bad bad experience.

They also have a great selection of Italian deli meats, prosciutto, salamis, etc... I found many types of coffees especially for espresso. Most if the dry goods come from the old country. Tomatoes sauce, olive oils, cookies, pasta... You won't find fresh produce. They even have pasta makers, cauldrons, and espresso coffee makers. I enjoy their house made italian sausages. The married couple who run it are very friendly, I haven't been in a while but usually when I went they would chat with me about Peru and their kids (which I guess are my age). Very lovely business, I'm hoping to return soon as I have moved closer to it this summer. Fingers crossed it is still the same couple that runs it!
