I am grateful my pcp referred me here. I always look for signs.
Lynnette F.

After two years of putting off this dreaded visit as referred by my PCP for treatment of migraine and other types of headaches, I finally made it today! The office is immaculate, the staff are all very efficient and friendly. The waiting room is well appointed with information about migraine headaches, Alzheimer's, magazines and so much more! I arrived and was greeted by a woman who commented that I was very early; indeed I was, which afforded me time to meet another lovely woman who works at the front desk, and went over the paperwork, took me to a room, and took all my vitals; she took the time to explain the doctor would be in soon, and that she was a very good physician. That really put my body at ease, as I was very nervous and then I saw the Turkish Evil Eye hanging in the exam room, I knew I had found the right doctor; as I believe they protect against evil as well. Dr. Cokgor is not your warm, fuzzy, let me hold your hand and sugar coat the reality; she's more like, "I see here you've (fill in the blank) so I'd like to try (fill in the blank)" and you either respond accordingly or not. I of course responding accordingly, we talked about a treatment plan, she was very kind, and is highly educated in how the brain works, and took in to consideration the chronic nature of my health, and the fact that I didn't want to add any medications to a daily routine. Dr. Cokgor gave me a nasal spray sample for migraines, as well as a supplement to take, insisting that it was not a pharmaceutical drug; which I understood. I was given an order for an MRI to check on the cyst that's been on my brain for eleven years or so, and a bag with the sample and supplement, and a date for a follow up. If you're looking for a warm fuzzy doctor who is going to sit down and coddle you, this is not the place for you, if you want a doctor who gets right down to business, this is the place for you. I left there feeling so much better, and less stressed than when I walked in. I'm knocking one star off until my follow up ... I'm stingy with the five stars.

Several other neuroscientists have told me that she is considered the best in all of the Bay Area. Very thorough. Nice bedside manner too.

Dr. Cogkor is not interested in dementia. She is no doubt terrific on other issues. Go elsewhere if cognition is the problem.

After owning a Home Care Agency in Marin for more than 15 years I have a great deal of experience and a little bit of wisdom about the doctors in our community.

She takes the time to listen carefully, explains everything in a way that's easy to understand, and never makes you feel rushed. What impressed me most is how thorough she is--she looks at the whole picture rather than just one symptom. Her approach made me feel confident that I was in the best possible hands. She balances professionalism with warmth, which is rare and so appreciated, especially when dealing with something as important as neurological health. I also want to mention Nurse Chris, who is absolutely amazing--kind, attentive, and always quick to follow up. Together, Dr. Akers and Nurse Chris make such a caring and supportive team that you know you are truly in good hands. It's not easy to find a doctor who combines intelligence, patience, and genuine care for their patients, but Dr. Akers truly does. If you're looking for a neurologist who will treat you like a person, not just a chart, she is absolutely the right choice.

She keeps up with research and uses advanced techniques, alongside her many years of experience. At the end of each visit, I leave knowing what my treatment plan is and have all questions answered. Dr. Mudivarthi is the on-call Hospital Neurologist on some days, and she actually goes in to see patients. I was very thankful to have her visit when I was in the hospital. She is leading a team of medical providers to address a very complicated medical condition of mine. I credit Dr. Mudivarthi for saving my life, and this was only possible because of the swift and skilled medical attention that she gave to me! Her consistent, long term and timely care, paired with exceptional sincere kindness and cutting edge medical treatment, makes her the clear and only choice for myself and any of my loved ones. Also the Neurology Clinic has: front and back office staff that are cheerful and welcoming, quick to call you to make an appointment and they are easy to reach. When she is out, one of her colleagues quickly responds to simpler questions. I first found Dr. Mudivarthi because of a recommendation given to me from a longtime patient of hers. Now that I've experienced her care firsthand, it's my honor to recommend her to others now!

We were assigned to Dr.Taylor through North Bay Hospital after my Mom had fallen and had a very…read moresevere brain bleed. Once she was released from the hospital and was in an acute rehab facility, we went to see her after her most recent CT scan. We literally spent maybe 10 minutes in her office. She was curt and does not have the best chair side manner. I would ask questions in behalf of my mother and she was not very forthcoming of any information with regard to why my mother fell. She just kept repeating " there is no more bleeding and no more swelling in the brain " . " We're good" ... When we would ask questions about weakness in her lower extremities and unsteady gait she had no answers. When I asked about what we could do about finding the appropriate SSRI for her that might work better than what she was on now she skirted out of this by saying " not my department sorry" .. she barely wrote any Physician's notes for the Rehab facility. I felt it was a complete waist of time and my Mother's time. The Medical Assistant was very friendly and knowledgeable maybe she should become a Neurologist and trade places with her. We will be going back to her original Neurologist. I would give this Physician zero stars if I could.

In fact, she cleared me for emergency surgery, which she flew back from the East Coast to perform on December 27th, 2022...yes, two days after Christmas!!! Dr. Taylor saved - if not my life -certainly my way of life. Thank you!!!!!! Dr. Taylor is also very personable, knowledgeable, able to speak easily to us laymen, shows great compassion and frankly, wants the best for each patient.
