Kramer arrived, no apologies. It's because it is ML King Day, she said. A lot of patients. (If you read other reviews, you'll learn that tardiness by 1 hr is the norm here.) - Kramer's "test" was 3 minutes long. Told the kid to touch her toes. Touched the kid's neck, told her to turn. That's it. By that test alone, she prescribed physical therapy. - No attempt to explain to us parents about possible explanations for our child's discomfort - Over 1 hr late and only talked to the patient for 7 minutes. Never disappoints , Went back for follow up and was released to go back to work , problem is I was never off of work , and keeps referring to an accident injury diagnosed as a fracture as a sprain and arthritis, I wonder if they even read a chart before coming into the 10:30 appointment at 11:00 read more

Had realy bad experience at this office on first visit, got misdiagnosed by the doctor M. Chiu who decided not to follow up and correct his mistake but to refer through office staff to another two doctors to be diagnosed again, 3D xrays did not help, terrible treatment by the staff and the doctor, would not recommend this office to anyone. read more

Rehab is among the best. I would recommend for bone problems and rehab. If you have a broken bone it is a lot faster to get help than sitting in a hospital hall for 2-3 hours. read more

Don't be fooled by their reputation. I have a tear in the labrum in my hip so I was referred to Dr Ritesh Shah. He was over an hour late for every single one of our appointments, even the one at 10am on a Monday morning. I could handle the lack of punctuality, if the treatment I got hadn't been so poor and shabby. So he determined he should give me a steroid injection. I was given no information except that. I was given no paperwork. Nothing on what to expect or how to prepare or what it involves. I signed a release that I was not given a copy of. I was given no information on what to expect beforehand, how to prepare, or what to expect afterwards. When I arrived for the injection, I waited for over an hour, as is apparently the norm for Dr. Shah. Then I waited on the table for another 20-30 minutes while the techs complained to each other and made me feel like I was on an assembly line. At no point was I treated like a human being. The tech even said to me "you know this would've been easier if you wore shorts, right?" (I'd worn loose sweet pants) No, I didn't know that, because nobody gave me any information on what to expect, and I didn't want to turn to Google as my medical expert....and by the way, it is winter in Chicago, so shorts are not exactly ideal to being with as it was snowing that day. The procedure was far more agonizing than it should have been from what I have researched afterward. There was no attempt to try to minimize the pain. He mentioned lidocaine, but if he used it, he didn't give it a chance to work. There was no information on what to do or expect afterwards except "you might want to ice it for about 10 minutes later tonight" and "walking is good". That is literally all the aftercare I was given. They couldn't get me out of there fast enough because they apparently had more cattle to brand (again ....no attempts were made to make me feel like a human being) Unfortunately about a week after the shot, I started having terrible side effects with horrible neurological pain all in the hip and down into the right leg and foot. Fortunately it seems to have abated but now the original hip pain is back in full force if not slightly worse. Now that it's been 12 days since the shot I think I can sufficiently say that it did not help, and all it did was temporally make things worse. I know results of cortisone shots are not guaranteed, but things could AND SHOULD have been done to minimize the emotional trauma. I don't know if my shot didn't work because my doctor did a half assed rushed job, or if it was because of my body and my circumstances. But unfortunately, I am never going to try another Cortizone shot again because of the horrific experience and I don't think I'm going to continue my relief seeking journey with IBJI. I thought IBJI was the place to go for bone and joint issues. IT IS NOT. (If any one who sees this has a referral to a place that might be able to help me with PRP or whatever comes next, leave me a tip and I'll reach out, or if you had a better experience with a different doctor there) read more

Went to Illinois bone and joint for back pain and Dr. Clay was immediately able to tell me that it was coming from my neck and causing pain in my back. I've started physical therapy and I'm already feeling better after a couple years of pain but I have to continue with my plan. I would definitely go back to Illinois bone and joint anytime I have any pain issues and visit Dr. Clay. So happy the pain is gone! read more

Last week I saw Dr. David Raab, following some injuries I sustained in a car accident. I was on time for my appointment and the wait time in the Des Plaines office was not excessive, though I did wait about 15 minutes. The nurse (or PA?) was kind and took a look at my injuries first. She recommended x-rays of both my legs and my shoulder, but I declined my left leg and shoulder. I had primarily come in for leg pain and the right was much more severe. Unfortunately, I was worried about cost. (Something no one in this office seemed concerned about!) Finally after they took the x-rays, I briefly saw Dr. Raab (for approximately 10 minutes). He reassured me about all of my concerns, had a great bedside manner and not a bad looking fellow either. I would recommend. Just allow for some wait time. read more

There is no excuse for having a patient sit for over an hour waiting for an appointment. I would seriously consider other options before selecting IB& J. It's now been 2 hrs and all I have to show for my time is x-rays. Still no face time with the doctor. How can this be considered an acceptable practice? read more

This location of IBJI is my least favorite. I came in here for an appointment with Dr. Clay at 9 a.m. on a Tuesday and the place was PACKED. I'm not sure if they just don't know how to manage their own appointment system or what but I had to wait in a line (standing, btw, with pretty serious back pain) for about 10 minutes just before I could check in to see my doctor. By then, it was five minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Fast forward another 30 minutes in the waiting room... I wasn't even called back to go to a room until 35 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The whole waiting room was like a zoo... there were tons of people, it was loud, and I just can't imagine there are that many doctors to see for that load of patients. It was really disturbing. My doctor was fine and my experience once I was in a room was OK but I hate coming to this location simply because it is such a zoo. The parking lot is always full, there's a ton of people around all the time checking in, sitting around, taking up doctors' time, etc. and you always end up waiting to be seen at least 25 minutes AFTER your scheduled appointment time. I've never had this issue at any other IBJI location so I'll avoid the Des Plains office as long as I can in the future. If you're able, pick another office and see your doctor there. A lot of them move between offices so Des Plaines probably isn't the only location they practice at. read more

I would recommend choosing any other orthopedic doctor. On top of waiting in the waiting room for over an hour after my scheduled appointment, they also tried to bill me for extra costs. My bill was submitted to Blue Cross Blue Sheild (BCBS) of IL with an NPI from a 'rural health clinic' instead of a in network doctor (IBJI is in BCBS's network) causing me to be billed for an extra $300 of services that IBJI can't change if the billed me correctly. Every time I would call IBJI's billing department and tell them what BCBS had said, I was completely blown off as not understanding my insurance deductible. Since 90%+ of IBJI's clients seem to be elderly, this seems like standard operating procedure for their billing department. I eventually had to ask BCBS of IL to do a 3 way call into IBJI with me on the line. Once that happened things changed quickly. The person on the phone immediately referred us to the billing department... So the person who was telling me this whole time I didn't understand my bill didn't even work in the billing department. His job is just to pick up the phone and tell people they don't understand their own bill. Since I was correct this whole time, I eventually got the bill fixed. It only took multiple calls to IBJI and BCBS over 2 months to sort out. Use a different doctor. read more

One more reason I decided not to get old. The place is laid out like a shipping dock, buzzing with people going into and out of with a walker, a wheelchair, a limp or other ailments that prevent any promising outcome when partaking in a first-come first serve scenario. The people are friendly and professional which helps. But the hallways remind me of the repetitive, bland and uniformly decorated hallways in The Shining. Thankfully there was no room 237. My doctor was nice and so was the nurses. The even have a small café with decent food across of the reception area. I laughed seeing all these suits and skirts dressed in business attire No doubt lawyers and/or drug representatives. This place has got to be a gold mine for doctors/lawyers/drug reps alike. I was there because of a soft tissue injury suffered while riding public transportation. Hopefully it will heal fast but they say up to and possibly over three months. read more

The front desk staff at IBJI Ortho Clinic in Des Plaines office are RUDE, UNWELCOMING, and ACT LIKE THEY'RE DOING YOU A FAVOR BY SIMPLY CHECKING YOU IN FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT! I have been seeing Dr. Breslow for 7 months now and have had a similar TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME WITH THE STAFF. Today was the worst though. FOUR STAFF SAT CHATTING BEHIND THE COUNTER WHILE I WAS MADE TO WAIT TO CHECK IN (I was the only patient in line). Then, when someone finally acknowledged that I was standing there, she rolled her eyes before waving me over. No hello. No eye contact. No smile. All I got was "do you have your insurance card?" There was no thank you. No have a seat, the doctor will be with you shortly. Nothing. I can't wait to be done with IBJI Ortho in Des Plaines! Dr. Breslow is quick and to the point. Although he is fast, I do feel like he answers all my questions. It's too bad he has such terrible front office staff, I would have liked to give him more stars. I also do my PT at the same building with IBJI (on the first floor). The front office staff there are so friendly and nice. I am always greeted with a smile, as well as when I leave. The therapists are very good, especially Colin P. He genuinely cares for his patients, is thorough in his work, and cognizant of his patients' time. I saw Dr. Baxamusa for recurring shoulder problems since my regular orthopedist was unable to see me. We will call my regular orthopedist #2. I was getting the runaround from #2 even though I was seen in the ER for pain in my shoulder that resulted from a dislocation. I wound up practically stalking #2's office by phone all week just to get an appointment. It was ridiculous. By contrast, I got in Dr. B's office in a few days. Dr. Baxamusa is primarily a hand surgeon though and couldn't really help me medically with my shoulder. He reassured me that my shoulder looked like it was in place pretty well. However, he did put me back in touch with the surgeon #1 who operated on my shoulder 20 years ago. I had lost touch, was forced to go to surgeon #2 and thought I had no options. My surgeon #1 was apparently a teacher of Dr. Baxamusa's. Even though I didn't get what I expected, I did appreciate Dr. Baxamusa's honesty and encouragement to go see surgeon #1. I apparently have very complex shoulder stability issues and he doesn't do the procedure I need. I really love an honest doctor. If I ever had a hand issue, I wouldn't hesitate to see Dr. Baxamusa for it. He is professional, friendly, and will refer a problem out if it is more than his abilities are. I think I waited in the waiting room for less than 5 minutes. The staff was very friendly and the offices were very nice. read more

My son had osteochondroma on his big toe. Basically his bone was pushing up and out through to his toe nail. Poor guy, any how my son (12) was very nervous and scared (rightfully so) about what was to come next. Dr. Solway was very patient and comical towards us, the right medication for the moment. His experience and knowledge exceeded our little problem and relief immediately sank in, washing away any concerns. I'm sorry for the lady before who wrote had a bad experience. I found Dr. Solway's assistant Tami to be very pleasant, kind and sympathetic to my son. Both Dr. Solway and Tami went above and beyond their duties and will not be soon forgotten. I'm so glad I found Dr. David Raab at IBJI to do my knee surgery. He quickly diagnosed my torn meniscus, explained my options and ultimately preformed my surgery the next week. My recovery has been just as swift thanks to Dr. Raab's confidence, experience, skill and precision. Previously, I had the same surgery on my right knee, different surgeon, much longer recovery. The difference in my recovery this time is like night vs. day! What makes for a swift uncomplicated recovery is the surgeon's skill. Choose Dr. David Raab. Responding to the reviewers who complain about wait time: Yes, sometimes in a Dr.'s office you do have to wait. This is because the Doctor never knows what he will have to deal with in any given visit. Who has made a Dr.'s appointment and not spent time in the waiting room? Surely you will want the kind of individual, careful responsive care during your visit that will cause your Doctor to be as late for for his next appointment as he was for yours, so buck up! live with what you cannot change and realize your life is no more or less important than the next person on your Doctor's long and complicated appointment schedule read more

Horrible place- you walk in to 5 receptionists with rude expressions who barely lift their heads to talk to the patients- there is line of patients waiting in the empty waiting room and lazy receptionist with bad attitudes and horrible demenor- incredible slow service and when I checked in they told me my appointment was next week- I told them this is impossible I confirmed the day before and I am out of town next week - I have a very hard time scheduling time for the doctor and had to change my work schedule- so I do not have free time to keep coming back and forth- when I asked to speak to the Doctor or manager i was told i have to wait- when i asked about how long, i was told "i dont know" very rudely- I waited over an our without any response- I left and will NEVER GO BACK--- words to the doctors that work there your staff is destroying your office and causing you to lose patients read more

My wife has been a patient of Dr. Clay, a pain specialist for IBJI. Clay referred her to PT at the IBJI center in Buffalo Grove. During treatment last Thursday, Dain Hampton, her PT, Did a manipulation that caused her to feel a "pop". She was in serious pain Friday that became unbearable on Saturday. We've called Clay repeatedly over the weekend but he refused to talk to her. We spent much of the weekend at emergency rooms with some relief. We called IBJI again today but nothing more has happened. IBJI has no compassion for people and could care less about being professional. All they apparently want is your money! read more

Go somewhere else. Seriously. My daughters appointment 2 weeks ago was at 1030. The doctor FINALLY came in at 1210. I told him and the staff this is complete disregard for others schedules and if you're running behind, call and tell the patient to come later. Also stop allowing your staff to use words such as "shortly" and "soon" because they dont have clear definition of what those words mean. Here we are today for the 2 week follow up. Appointment time was 1215pm. Still waiting at 1257pm and not one person has come over to tell us the doctor is running absurdly behind. Save yourself the frustration!! read more

Lola is 100% correct. I came her with my wife and it's like a grocery store you wait inline to see a receptionist that makes you feel like how'd are you bother me. You wait in the waiting room looking at as many as 25 people then your stuck in an exam room and wait for who knows how long it's been a half hour already. Went 5 years ago to the Arlinton Heights office for Achilles tendon surgery... They re-attached the tendon with screws which 4 years later came out. I went to IBJI at Peterson and Cicero and the doctor there told me, "ha ha, you have a screw loose". Nobody cares that I had to get it redone, I get that. It is a painful recovery and long. Six weeks no weight bearing. I own my own business where I have to be on my feet all day. I had to hire someone to do my job. I'm lucky if I will break even these six weeks. No, I did not let IBJI redo my surgery. I went to a surgeon who actually specializes in this. He would not dis another doctor but from comments here and there I surmised these things about the prior surgery: 1) Do not use screws in the foot, use anchors that mushroom when inserted and they will never come out. 2) Have someone else review post-op xrays. Apparently my surgery left me with many bone fragments and calcium deposits that should have been cleaned up. 3) Always get a second opinion on the procedure to be done. Also, before I saw the doctor the second time at IBJI I asked the woman who took my appointment 2 weeks before the actual appointment to get the records from the Arlington Heights office so the doctor would have an idea of what my problem may be. When I showed up for the appointment I asked if they had the records and they said "No, they are a different office". I said aren't you all the IBJI? The reply was yes but they keep their records in a different place. 1) Is this not 2015? There are marvelous inventions called computers that pass info very well between them, especially when you are the same company. 2) They had 2 weeks, the records could have been sent by horse and buggy with plenty of time to spare. Never again, a cold, dispassionate, unorganized and with a flip attitude business that really could care less about everything except your money... read more

Long wait times. I saw Dr. Baxamusa twice. I had brought xrays taken at Lutheran literally two days prior, which they didn't even look at, they had to 'take their own' (and bill for that of course). Dr. was very quick in and out, not very informative and called me the wrong name twice. To top it off, they mess up all the billing constantly. Primary and secondary insurance are billed and payed and then they try to charge me on top of that. The second bill (for a spleen) I paid when I got it and they billed me again. Not going back there. Dr. Quinn Regan did my husband's spinal fusion. It was done on an emergency basis, so we were at the mercy of who was on call, but in retrospect we should have requested a neurosurgeon. Anywy, Dr. Regan is arrogant, cold and has the bedside manner of a gnat. He left my husband with permanent nerve damage. I've been less than impressed with other Drs at IBJI as well. read more

Best place ever. Dr Kothai is patient, kind and a great doctor. I never have a problem there. Everyone is friendly and kind.

My main issue has to do with the cost and post visit treatment. I'm sure the doctors are good and the reception staff was nice. However, I was charged $160 for a visit where the doctor spent literally 45 seconds with me and told me to pick up some over the counter medication at the front desk. I called once i got my bill to question it and ask them to review it and they came back saying, "yep, that's the cost." The doctor even had the audacity to tell me to come back every 3 months for an update. Yeah, like i'm going to pay $160 every 3 months for spend 45 seconds with you. My recommendation - go somewhere else. read more
