The communication with this company should be so much better. I found out on Thanksgiving (after seeing an unauthorized SUV parked in one of our spots) that they stopped patrolling our lot a month and a half ago. Apparently the City of Chicago rules changed about suburban companies servicing the city for tows, and now requires a license and a fee. I was disappointed because their service was world's better than NorthShore. I bought guest passes on Sept. 16. But if they haven't been patrolling our lot, without EVER sending us an email or calling, for a month, what was the point of selling the passes to us. Waste of money. The owner and a tow truck driver said someone (Glenda?) was supposed to send an email to us, but we got absolutely nothing. The fact that we never sent a cancellation letter for a new company should've been the tip off. If not for the SUV parked in one of our spots, I have no idea how long it would've taken them to tell us. I noticed communication was all over the place anyway. One lady on the phone (still unsure if it was Glenda) would tell me to text pictures of the car that needs to be towed instead of taking the info down herself. The owner, who usually sounded like he wanted to do anything but answer the phone, would still take the info via phone. Cris was responsive, but he also gave me another number to call and would follow-up to see who was working that night. (I felt bad about this because I always seemed to need his help on off days.) When a tow request was overnight and I'd call in the morning, the owner told me on a couple of occasions he didn't know what was going on. Nobody seems to know what the next person is doing. I'll give the company 5 stars for Cris. He always was quick to respond, followed up and efficient. Kelly was at first and then again later on, so I'll give him 4 stars. (He tolerated my dog who had a case of the Zoomies.) I think the team is nice overall and STILL would've rather worked with them than another towing company, but I give it 3 stars due to disorganization and mediocre communication. read more

My car died in a parking lot. Illinois towing got here very quickly. Usually tow truck drivers are pretty mean in my experience but the tow truck driver that came and jumped my car was very nice and very sweet. The process was quick and I was out of there within five minutes I highly recommend them read more

PLEASE READ!!!! Never use this company for either business or personal. They towed my truck because they misread my parking sticker. After filing a police report they brought my truck back but unfortunately their mistake cost me a day of real work! They brought my truck back after having the audacity to ask me to come get it as if they ever had the right to tow it! There were at least 2 other cars that they towed on this day without merit!! I filed a report with the Commerce Commission Police (who they are licensed through), my property management, as well as the BBB. This can NOT keep happening. I'm also filing a civil claim for damages to my truck (a scratch that I reported to my insurance company) as well as missing a days work. I would not trust this company if I were you. It's a scam! Lost my brakes in evanston today. Called its and rick the owner came out. I was wrong on an issue and Rick took the time to talk to me and he turned out be 100 % right. I was impressed with the service from Illinois Towing. I called in to AAA on 8/3/15, the morning after a terrible storm in the Chicagoland area. We had to go stay at a hotel due to a power outage, and things were looking bleak when my car was undriveable in the morning. My Power Steering had gone out and per AAA the estimated wait time for a tow was almost two hours. Derek from Illinois Towing arrived approximately an hour after I called in. Needless to say, I was frustrated, hot, irritated and unpleasant by this point. Derek was sympathetic, professional, pleasant and courteous. I abruptly changed the location I wanted to tow the car to and he expertly found the address. I work in the automotive sector and was very impressed with Illinois Towing. read more

Long story short, my dad's car slid into a ditch on a snowy day around 3PM and needed a towing service to get the car back out. After waiting 4 hours for AAA (who finally ended up showing up at 9PM) we called Illinois towing service. I have to say these guys were prompt! They probably showed up in under 30 minutes of us calling and confirming with them, so A+ job there. We ended up tipping the AAA guy for showing up (cuz my dad is that kind of guy...) and telling him to leave since we were using Illinois towing service instead. However, my biggest problem with ITS was the price. When we called, we specifically asked "how much would it cost to tow my car out of a ditch?" The guy said $125. After the entire ordeal, it turns out that it was more difficult to tow our car then they had initially anticipated. Big surprise. They ended up charging us $350. I realize that it would be hard to estimate the cost of a tow if you don't know exactly what the situation is. But... for almost 3x the initial price? That doesn't seem right. The actual towing guy said that $125 was for the initial "movement" of the car and then they charge by the foot of having to move the car. Um....... maybe that's something you can mention to us BEFOREHAND? Well anyways, we still appreciate that these guys were speedy and got the job done. So if you're looking for fast service in the Glenview area and have the $$$ to shell out, these are the guys to call. Otherwise you should probably go buy yourself a couple sandwiches and a bag of chips and wait for AAA. read more

I'm an acute care physician, and I moved from NY two months ago. Over the last year, I pretty much was on front lines with COVID 19 in NY and now here in IL. I came to drop off a few items at my parents place in Glenview at 4 am after night shift in the hospital. My car hesitated and stalled. I was able to start it again, but it hesitated, and decided not to risk it and wait two more hours before I can check it in the day light. My parents live in the building and the lot requires a sticker. Unfortunately, they didn't have any. I left an A4 note on my wind shield asking not to tow until 6 am and listed my cell number. The car was visible from my window. I dosed off to sleep after my night shift in the hospital. At 5:45 am I saw a tow truck getting ready to tow my vehicle. I came down, and tried to explain the situation. I told him that I'm a physician, and just came from work. The guy didn't even try to call, and he literally towed my car in front of me. The worst part is that I had to take two hours off from my morning office time to replace a battery and to get my car back. Obviously, despite all bald eagles and American flags they have over their trucks and the office, they don't care about front line COVID 19 workers, or even a simple human understanding of a bad situation/break down. However the guy was super friendly after I paid $220, he even asked if I need help to carry the tool box and the battery. He did allow me to fix the car on their impound lot. Towed my car in the early morning hours from regency condominiums in Glenview. When i first called to ask why my car was towed. Response was that guest pass was expired. I told them that is not possible as I checked the date. They kept saying it was expired. I catch a ride over to their yard and they change the reason to it was an invalid pass because resident name wasn't written on it. I haven't written the name on the guest pass for months and haven't been towed. Their response is the towing company owner nephew who worked that area was recently fired because he was caught sleeping in truck......doesn't answer my question but ok. These guys are just as much of crooks as Lincoln towing in Chicago and reds towing in glenview. Hope they get shutdown just like the other two companies named. read more

DO NOT CALL THESE GUYS ON A WEEKEND. They say they operate 24/7, but what they do is bounce your call over to Jonny's Towing. Read the reviews of Jonny's!!!! Everything bad is true. Robert Downey (not the actor, although I'm sure he would have done a better job) was over an hour and a half late, demanded I pay him in cash - $195.00 to simply unjam the gear shift - and made me feel intimidated when I objected. About the only thing he was good at was quickly pointing out the nearest ATM. It wasn't roadside assistance, it was a mugging. In fairness, I have had some good experiences with Illinois Towing in the past. But there is no excuse for dumping their customers on Jonny's Towing. I won't ever call either of these companies again. read more

GATOR!! What a life saver. My car would not start at 6 o'clock pm on Christmas Eve. I thought I'd have such a hard time getting help because of the holiday and gave up after trying many tow services that simply would not help me. That was until I called Family towing and Gator arrived. He towed my car and kept me entertained while we sorted everything out. Great guy and great service. Just wanted to say that my experience On Saturday with Illinois Towing Service was definately the best!! I had been loading my car with groceries and i had managed to lock my keys in the trunk of my car. I had called for AAA service and realized my child locked himself in the car as well. I had AAA call Illinois Towing Service to let them know. And within less than 10 minutes they were here ready to rock n roll. The AAA guy who introduced himself as Pat. Lol was in my car within seconds. Very polite, well groomed, and in full uniform. Explained to me the Pat name. As i laughed and we parted ways. I would very much so recommend them to provide their services again if ever needed in future! read more

As bad as the reputation a relocation company gets, Illinois Towing is probably one of the nicest company's to deal with. Yes they towed my car, but I was in the wrong. My sticker was expired and I didn't realize it. I called the company and they were very professional on the phone and told me where to come for my car. When I showed up the lady in the office was fast on getting my paper work done to release my car and I got my receipt and I was on my way. They gave me a 3 day pass until I could get to the management office for a new sticker. Yes it sucked to pay the extra money but it was my fault for letting my sticker expire and they are just doing their job. read more

ITS came. I had to push my car out of my spot, while this tow truck guy just sit and was busy texting in his truck. FYI.. tow truck driver: I requested a tow because the car doesn't move.. I don't have to push the car towards your tow truck. MOVE, do your work. ITS manager check your driver, the one you send on 10 FEB 15 at about 2:40 pm on Tower Rd is lazy. He is a liability. He will make excuses and put blame on customer. My wife and I got feed up that we told him we'll call another tow company. ITS manager/owner open your eyes, nobody likes waiting for another tow company for another 2 hours, unless they're dealing with the type of tow driver you sent this day. A third party contacted AAA because of a flat. The person who took care of my family was on the phone the entire time, he didn't check under the vehicle to be sure the vehicle was safe to jack up told my mother to stay in the vehicle to hold the break down. He is supposed to place blocks behind the tires. No matter the weather he should have recommended everyone get out of the vehicle. I have an older vehicle and it has some rust, my van fell and the arm to his jack broke off my driver side mirror. This all happened the day before Thanksgiving, it took some time to locate the Towing co and when I called I spoke to the "manager" who was a woman and refused to give her name, and she was beyond rude, she connected me to a Rick, whop came on the line and said "Is this about the mirror, I'm not helping you and hung up". I tried to call back and they hung up again, I finally spoke to the girl again, and couldn't believe how the mangers of the business treated me. This co is contracted with AAA, If this is how they treat their customers and refuse to take any ownership they have no business having this business. read more

Use this company at-your-own-risk. I would stay away from this company at all costs. I needed a jump from the Jewel parking lot. Called on 7/14 @ around 4:45 pm and spoke to a woman whom I explained the situation to. She told me no problem, a tow truck would arrive within an hour. After 2 hours of waiting and no tow truck in site, I called Illinois Towing back. The same lady who answered the phone earlier immediately swore at me with the F word repeatedly and, even worse BY FAR, used homophobic insults towards me. She proceeded to say that the tow truck had come and could not find my car and I wasted their time. (Hard to believe, as my car was in the middle of a nearly empty parking lot with the hood open) . The worst part about this company employee's crude nastiness is that she also called again and left me a f bomb voice mail (which I have saved) and ended it by saying she hopes that I "get into a f'n car crash" ! Any company that employs vile people like this doesn't deserve anyone's business. Im only happy they didn't tow or service my car, because the way they treat customers they do not deserve to be in business. As a side note, after this horrible experience, I called a different towing company. That company arrived in 30 minutes and quickly spotted my car in the parking lot. I originally called for a tow to the dealership, but the operator who picked up my car was able to diagnose the problem and I paid 1/2 of what I would have otherwise. Ray was courteous and they also went above and beyond...picking up and dropping off my car at my office. Great service! read more

Canceling AAA membership thanks to their sending ITS and a particularly rude slob driver who liked to give orders like he worked for the government. Dealt with maybe 10 tow drivers over the years and they were uniformly polite. This guy was special so I asked the person at the garage where car was towed and this generally very agreeable person volunteered that the tow driver was indeed a special case. I will pick my own tow services from now on. read more

I have delt with this company several times. The actual people that come out to grab your vehicle are great. That alone would give them 4 out of 5. Today, I had to call with dispatcher to deal with a problem. I simply cannot describe how unprofessional and rude he was. I asked about a reason regarding a company policy, and his response was 'because i said so'. When I asked again, he essentially tried to pick a fight with me. I would fire this person in a second. When I mentioned it to the guy that was going to tow my car, he said that he could write a list longer than his armspan with everyone that despises this particular dispatcher. If there is an owner of this business out there, get rid of this guy before he does any more harm to your level of customer service. read more
