Been shopping here a little over a year, since leaving the Cave Junction True Value. What a difference! This IV building and supply store has everything I need, in stock, and super helpful people to help me find it. Clean store, friendly, community-minded staff, and close enough. From the smart, knowledgeable women behind the counter to the guy in garden to the friendly men loading bags in my vehicle, these are hard-working, honest professionals. Couldn't ask for more. For starters last year in around April 2020, I bought lumber to build a shed. I paid and arranged to pick it up in 3 days. During that 3 day period I had gone back into IV Bldg to get some things I forgot to order. During my lengthy wait at the sales desk I over hear that they have sold out of 2x4x8. My wife pushed me into checking on our order. I assured her that they would not sell something that they all ready sold (and was paid for). I was dead wrong. So I immediately complained and they then agreed to substitute 2x 4 x 16 and I agreed to cut them down on my time. I was not happy and did not enter the store again until last week. They had ample time to get their act together. Last week I went on IV Bldg website and found they had Red Brand Field fencing 330 ft priced at $186. I called them and after a few times they finally answered with an actual live person. She informed me that they in deed have the fencing but the price is $239 for 330 ft roll, they had not time to update it on their website. I bought my fencing 30 miles away at the Grange Co Op for $208 for a bonus roll of 363 ft. Today I wanted a price for their 4x4x12 pressure treated,(to cut for 6ft posts). I called ahead to make sure that they have them and at a decent price. I got a recorded message stating to leave a message and they will return my call as soon as possible. I called them at 8:15 am and it is now 11:22am and no call from them. They are disrespectful and think they are just all-that! I am done with IV Bldg. Around here they say buy local, but they don't return the courtesy. I spend a fair amount doing handy work around my place. I will no longer have any good reviews about IV Bldg. And unless a complete emergency I'll travel the 30 miles to get respect and the feeling that my business is appreciated. I believe it is time for them to wake up. We need competition and I'd like to see Fields Hardware move out here. read more

In 3 years living here I have never purchased Anything from this customer abuse center. My wife or I always get ignored or treated like dirt when we ask where to find something. Today I came in after NONE of three displays of deer fencing outside showed prices. The cashier doing nothing acted deaf. The short man pretending to look at inventory sheets barked the prices were all on the yellow bins, like at 68 I can't see prices when looking. After going out to check Again I came in said "No they aren't" He stormed outside looked at invisible labels and said "They musta faded." Then stormed back in where the woman cashier and loyal customer friends glared at me. I told them what I thought about their horrid service and small town monopoly and I stormed out followed by a fat farmer and family complaining how terrible I am. When I tried to explain what happened I got threatened. Must need to have grown up here to receive service. Enter at your own risk. Has a good assortment of building supplies a little of everything. Service is somewhat average at best, but nothing that can't be overlooked, due to namely the limited options in the area. read more

I go into this place for the first time today to get supplies for a shed im building. "Hi there" I say. "Hold on" I get in return. He looks up after spending it seemed like 10 mins stapling a paper to a receipt. "I need a price check on 60' of pressure treated 2x4." He says "awh we cant do that." So i start to ask for 2 12' pt 2x4 to be more specific for him. And he says " oh dude you have to tell me that in the beginning." Nope, sorry, thats not the way it works, Im a customer, you need to do your job and say would like those 2x4 in 8', 10', or 12'? When i say i want the quote on paper so i can show the home owner, he says the same thing pretty much that i need to tell him in the beginning. Its almost funny that you think you can tell me how to get a quote and im doing it wrong when you cant staple paper together, look up an easy price check, or have any customer courtesy. And thanks alot to the other checker. You were so much help on getting me a price quote and making the company lose out on thousands in the next few months. I wonder how many more people will have to deal with this kind of service. Take my advice, go somewhere else, its worth the drive. read more

I had pretty much the same experience as the previous review. Great service, knowledgeable staff. I went there to drop off a lawn mower for repair and Jim was super helpful. Turn around time is about average for this time of year. Did some shopping and found everything I needed, as usual. So glad we have them in the area. read more
