I was first diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in 2019, and I underwent lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation. After a second cancer diagnosis in 2024 (this time hormonal), I decided to undergo a double mastectomy. I chose to stay flat because implants and flaps were not for me. I had healing issues and developed necrosis in a large area of tissue, which also formed keloid scars And fibrosis. The tissue started to become increasingly stiff, and the doctors I saw in Spain told me that if I did nothing, the problem would worsen over time. This tissue would continue to adhere more and more to my chest bones, and I would lose more and more mobility. I visited many surgeons until I found Dr. Khouri (thank you, internet!). Dr. Khouri was the only one who gave me a non-mutilating option: a full reconstruction using my own fat. I am a slim person, but that hasn't been a problem at all. Dr. Khouri is very experienced in working with all kinds of patients, and his track record in fat transfer surgery is incomparable to that of any other surgeon. He is a pioneer, and for me, that makes all the difference. Since I started treatment with Dr. Khouri a few months ago, I feel that I will be able to put an end to a very complicated phase of my life. It has been 7 years since my first cancer diagnosis; it's a long, very tough process for breast cancer patients, and you rarely come across people who are as deeply involved in improving the quality of life of patients as Dr. Khouri. My opinion: Dr Roger Khoury is not a good surgeon, he destroyed my hand…read more He performed liposuction on my abdomen, surgically attached to my hand a weird contraption I believe he invented and inserted metal rods into my hand without clearly explaining all of these procedures to me beforehand. All of this to alleviate my arthritic condition. According to him the surgery did not go well and I went through hell for three months. I saw him at his office in May 2023 and have not seen him in person since then, mind you I had surgery in June and July 2023. Be wise, avoid the Miami Hand Center and Roger Khoury MD.

My implant on my radiated side never felt right and looked aweful, so I did about a year of research and found Dr K . I traveled from Texas to see him. In 2014 when I had my BC recon in Texas there was mesh put in with my implants and It killed breast tissue around it I started my journey with Dr K in 2021. My reconstruction took longer since that mesh was there but after we figured it out and got it removed my procedures took well I love Dr K and I'm very thankful for everything he's done for me . She continued to be in pain for months, recovery took forever, and she is now scarred in areas that he was never supposed to touch. After the surgery, the saccharine, sweet staff turned sour and unresponsive. At the post-op visit, he actually scolded my sister, accusing her of not following pre-op directions, because she bled so much on the table! She had followed his instructions to the T! This man is a butcher and should not be practicing medicine. I pray for anyone desperate enough to go to him. He does not seem to care about his patients, and I doubt the reviews that claim he does are genuine. I've noticed he has multiple listings on Yelp for the same few businesses. When he gets too many negative reviews, he creates a new business page. Huge red flag! I urge you to research him on other platforms, including Google. If you continue to scroll, you will see the buried negative reviews of what he and his staff have done to so many poor women who came to him for help, but instead ended up disfigured and severely traumatized. His license should be revoked.

Late last year, I made an appointment for a cleaning, having had my last one 6 months prior to the lockdown. For a person who brushes her teeth after every meal and flosses twice a day, I was surprised to learn that due to not having gone for a cleaning for two years, my gums needed a much needed deeper cleaning. That's when I began a periodontal/gum screening/oral hygiene fitness plan, that included 5 visits in a span of 3 months. Danny, the hygienist who took care of me, handled my mouth with extreme care and explained the details of all the procedures before during and after treatment which I appreciated very much. The first visit entailed having my gum's depth measured throughout my mouth, a super deep cleaning with a local anesthetic and laughing gas (I did not feel a thing and felt rather nice actually). Other tests were done and sent to the lab to check thoroughly. That day I went home with a brand new Philips electric toothbrush, a Waterflosser Water Pic, several bottles of oral irrigators, floss, etc. so I too, could tackle those hard-to-reach crevices in and around each and every tooth and molar at home. It was all included in their extremely competitive flat fee. At each visit, Danny once again measured the depth of my gums around each tooth, gave me a deep cleaning and an Oral Hygiene Fitness Report that reflected the improvements. All my visits were pain-free, educational and left me with freshly cleaned teeth and gums and it showed :) Today was my last visit. After the cleaning, I felt squeaky-clean and accomplished, especially receiving an "A+" for the progress and my at-home efforts. Dr. Gallardo and his staff not only treat you with respect and like family, but they make sure the experience with their state-of-the-art equipment, is smooth and pain-free. What more is there to ask for?
