I visited the gallery last year while in Orlando and saw a beautiful lion painting (or so I thought). The lion holds deep personal significance for me as my late son's name, Ari, means "lion." Naturally, I was drawn to this piece. The salesperson, Lilli, immediately engaged me, took the artwork into a special dimly lit room, and passionately described the brushstrokes and how they come to life under different lighting. This entire presentation strongly implied that I was looking at an original painting. I didn't purchase it immediately but exchanged numerous emails with the gallery afterward. Twice in my emails, I referred to it as a painting. Not once did they correct me. Instead, they carefully avoided calling it a painting themselves, referring to it only as a "piece." After much deliberation, I purchased it and had it shipped internationally. When it arrived, I was shocked to find that the certificate described it as a limited-edition print, not an original painting. Feeling deceived, I reached out to the gallery, expecting them to take responsibility. Their response? They admitted they saw me calling it a painting in emails but didn't correct me because they "didn't want to offend me." When I requested a refund, they hid behind their 3-day no-refund policy, ignoring the fact that they misled me in the first place. When I pointed out that honesty should be a company policy, the gallery director, Nick, actually said "do truly strive to be honest and upfront with all of our clients". (As if honesty is optional, like a goal you work toward rather than a basic ethical standard.) Let's be real: If you have to "strive" to be honest, you're already admitting dishonesty is part of your business model. The Takeaway: Ocean Blue Galleries engages in misleading sales practices. They deliberately avoid clarifying details to secure sales. They will NOT take accountability once you realize the truth. If you're considering buying from them, triple-check what you're actually getting--because they certainly won't tell you upfront.

Each gallery selects its own closing time, apparently, so we arrived before 8:00 at the Morean and were told that they were closing in ten minutes. At Florida Craft Art, the two women working literally turned their back on us (we're over 50- eeeeek!) and would not speak, so I was unable to buy the stained glass piece that caught my eye. After trying three of the six galleries, we'd had enough. Really disappointed.

The selections in the exhibition are beautiful. Each one is surprisingly more beautiful and different than the next one. The Dalí Museum was such a cool and unique museum experience. As much as I love travelling and…read morelearning about history, I'll admit that I'm usually not the biggest fan of most art museums. There's just something about the work of Salvador Dalí that has always fascinated me. Getting to explore the museum and learn more about Dalí's life and creative process was amazing. I saw several pieces that I wasn't familiar with before, which made the visit even more worthwhile. The highlight, though, was definitely the Dalí Alive 360 Experience. If you're visiting, I highly recommend adding it on. Seeing Dalí's artwork come to life all around you in a fully immersive environment was incredibly trippy, entertaining, and educational. It gave me a whole new appreciation for his work and helped me understand the meaning behind many of his pieces. The gift shop was also fantastic. Lots of unique souvenirs, books, and art-inspired items that were actually interesting to browse through rather than your typical museum gift shop offerings.
