My personal story is unwillingly rescheduled appointment because they don't have enough time for me. They are unable to offer makeup options like squeezing me in asap because it is their fault to reschedule me. Instead, all they can do is put me in the regular queue. The attitude I get is "sorry, but I only care about our schedules and getting off work on time". And I had always experienced last minute cancellation due to their chaotic management. I can see that they want to grow big but if they really want to be competitive and being viewed as professionals, they need to be truly helpful and flexible for patients' needs.

So I called the 800 and 650 numbers for HPSM and the lady was extremely helpful. She put me on hold and after a few mins assured me that someone from NEMS will call at 2pm to schedule an appointment! It's 3:46pm PST and I have not received ANY call from NEMS. No text, no call.... Nada. Zero! God help those who get assigned to NEMS. Better go to urgent care! You're not going to get any help at NEMS if you have any health concern.

I want to share my experience from today with a staff member named Lurdith (not sure if that's her…read morereal name). I called to ask if they had any formula available since I missed out on my previous benefits and couldn't get any. She laughed and told me I should just go buy some because my new benefits had just started, and there was no way to recover the lost ones. I explained how helpful the formula from WIC is, especially since I recently lost my breastmilk supply, and I really appreciate it. Instead of being understanding, she responded in a rude and sarcastic manner, laughing as she said it's helpful because it's free. She also reminded me that WIC is only supplemental and not a full substitute for baby's milk needs, which I already knew and had mentioned that I'm not working, so this support is crucial for us. I wish there was a recording of our call so the WIC office could hear how disrespectful and sarcastic she was while telling me to just get more cans since my new benefits had started. She didn't seem to acknowledge how much I needed the previous cans, especially since my baby was just diagnosed with a condition requiring a special formula that isn't cheap. She showed no sympathy or professionalism during our conversation. She also claimed that WIC doesn't provide formula because they can't keep it in the office, and even if they could, she wouldn't give me any since my new benefits had just begun. I'm really disappointed and felt disrespected by her customer service. It seems like she's not happy in her job. (Coversation call date and time: 4/11/25 9:45am)

Clean office, very quiet, somewhat a bit small especially when you have your stroller with you. Parking isn't that great, one floor garage. Sucks when it's raining too. I suggest to arrive 15 mins early to find close parking, especially if you have your baby with you. Staff is amazingly nice, especially the receptionist. Although this was my very first visit she helped me through what was needed to be eligible. The class process was very thorough. The lady had asked each and every one of us individually to get our height and weight processed in, as well as our babies (if needed) The counselors were very sweet and not at all rushing you for the next appointment. I love that the counselor i had was very thorough with me and kept making sure if i had any questions. I love that she supported me giving my daughter formula, due to some complications. Judgement free in my opinion. Seems like they got rid of that rude man? Other than that, great overall experience, will be back soon for my next appointment. (: ALSO; side note: I believe their office hours are actually Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8-5:30pm. Maybe the info still needs to be updated.

My doctors had already sent the orders electronically, so all I had to do was self check-in at the kiosks. I also had a test order I bought myself on the LabCorp website that was also sent electronically. Make sure you create a LabCorp patient account online before you go. The check-in process will be much faster. You won't have to enter your insurance and personal information at the kiosk if you make an account ahead of time. All you have to do is scan your ID and confirm a few details and your check-in is done. They are open 7:30a-11:30a on Saturday. I got there at 7:28am and the waiting room was already 90% full. I expected this, so it didn't bother me. There is plenty of seating and room for many in the waiting area. Most people there were walk-in patients. There is a list of names on a monitor in the waiting area that shows where you are in line after you check-in. It also shows whether you are a walk-in or an appointment. I waited ~50 minutes. The receptionist found all my test orders easily. The phlebotomist was very nice and took my blood samples efficiently and gently. One needle prick and I barely felt it. The only reason I took off one star is the restroom facilities need some attention. They need to be remodeled and cleaned. The toilet paper didn't have a roll dispenser, and the sink spigots were gross.

Limited parking, dirty waiting room and depressing inside. They take lunch from 12-1pm so don't…read moreexpect anyone in the office to greet you. He was very abrupt, didn't even bother to introduce himself and acted like he couldn't be bothered to talk to us. The whole appointment had to have been about five whole minutes -- for a new patient exam! WTF? We were both really offended by his beside manner. He didn't even introduce himself. He was just like, "So what are you here for?" Well, excuse us for taking up your time! We explained when we scheduled the appointment that my husband is a new patient, needs a general physical and we'd just like to establish a relationship with a primary care doctor. Obviously the front desk hadn't communicated that to the doctor before he came in to meet with us! The guy had the warmth and personality of a block of ice. For a first time patient, he also didn't ask a whole lot of questions that you think would be relevant to assess someone's health! He was supposed to give my husband a physical, but barely did anything beyond check his blood pressure and order some blood tests -- several of which we had to specifically ask for. He kept asking us what we wanted...um, we want you to do your job and be our doctor! I personally like a doctor that asks relevant questions about diet, lifestyle, stress factors, etc., and he totally dropped the ball on that one. Ultimately, his lack of personality or caring attitude really turned both of us off. Beyond that, we're not even sure how good of a doctor he is because he didn't ask some fairly important, standard questions you would ask a new patient. We will continue to search for a better doctor. This guy just didn't give us a sense of confidence that we would be in good hands.
