You can't really inspect the vanity if you live in an apartment because they will not remove the covering before it is brought up to the apartment and installed. Upon removing the cardboard packaging, and shrink-wrap, I found a nick on the quartz top, a cut (more like a "gash") on the left side of the vanity, and drawers that don't align or close to be level with the rest of the body. The last items especially cannot be known until the entire vanity is fully installed. The owner offered to replace it with another vanity. There are several problems with that -- one is removing the installation, which would include undoing the plumbing, and finding a way to bring it downstairs again, when bringing it upstairs was difficult enough. And the probability that these problems with the drawers not aligning will likely exist with the new vanity, since it has to do with sloppy construction and bad design. It's not likely that the piece that I have is the only one with these issues. Curiously, the handyman who installed the vanity showed me that there were holes drilled on the back of the vanity, as if someone had planned on attaching a mirror. That means that the vanity is either returned to the store or "manufacturer" or it's a second hand piece. As for the gash -- that is the most offensive flaw. I suppose I'll have to repair it with wood filler and live with it. What I have asked was that I be given a discount for these flaws. I hope the owner will change his mind and agree to do so.

After our contractor was terminated, Holz refused to release remaining cabinetry materials required to complete our kitchen unless the contractor paid his outstanding balance -- despite the fact that we, the homeowners, had already paid for the cabinets. As a result, our kitchen was left half finished and unusable for an extended period of time, causing significant hardship to our family, including a household with a baby under one year old. We offered to pay Holz directly for the materials currently completed and being held for our project, but still refused to release the materials. Homeowners should be aware that Holz's business practices may leave you caught in the middle of contractor payment issues, even when you are willing to resolve matters directly. This situation created unnecessary stress, delays, and disruption in our home. I would strongly caution any homeowner to fully understand how materials are controlled and released before proceeding with this company.

When I got to the store, I had to wait 20+ minutes because the updated estimate that the sales person sent me earlier was not showing up on their system. The sales person was not available. So we had to wait for him. Making a payment should be easy, we are in 2026 :-) I'd even be happy to pay a convenience fee to get an online payment option. Also to be clear. The sales person was very nice and professional. Not blaming the people here, blaming the process and management of 84 Lumber.

They gave me an appointment with the templetor who never show up the first day. He finally came the next day. I gave him all the information of the design with pictures, he never reported them to the office. After over a month of negotiation about the price and the sqft he gave me a delivery date in October 14th. I confirmed 2 days before everything was ok. Robert told me I need to change everything because my slab was not big enough. They couldn't do the backsplash. The first template was 69sqft, I didn't change anything. Now he announced me the total was 94sqft because of the edge I picked. It didn't make any sense. I accepted the remove the backsplash in order to make it fit but I requested to have the leftover slab. They finally installed the island and countertop. They forgot to cut the cooktop. It was of the plan since day 1. They did a crack on the countertop. I requested bullnose edges only on the island, but they didn't respect the design and they did it even on the countertop. The edges are poorly done. They are not smooth at all. I'm so disappointed. It look old and ugly. It was a beautiful slab, solid rock, they just ruined it. Almost 2 months to get this kind of job, it's a shame. Of course I never got the leftover of my slab.
