Having searched for knife sharpening, I turned to Yelp to see what was available. Ace Hardware came up listed. I called to make sure they had knife sharpening available, and an incredibly pleasant woman assured me that they did and I could come anytime When I enter the store, several clerks were there, and someone immediately began my knife, sharpening in a new type sharpener, guided by lasers. It was super safe, super clean and super easy. It only cost seven dollars. I would definitely come back and sharpen more knives here staff couldn't have been nicer. read more

Bill, Frank and the entire Ace Hardware team are all about customer service. Today was another example when I came in to ask about removing a frozen hose bib to my hose without an intended purchase. I was immediately helped by Frank and his assistant despite the project taking a lot longer and being more complicated to solve. They found a good solution and solved the problem. For me, the Deerfield Beach store is my go to hardware location for that reason, real time unselfish customer support, polite and willing staff and quality products. read more

This hardware store is amazing. What impressed me immediately upon entering were the two employees who welcomed us and asked how they could help. I explained that I had spoken to Bill, the day before, and he confirmed that they had iguana shields in stock and he would put some aside. I was walked over to the display and told to take as many as I needed, that they had just been restocked of this popular item. My husband's eye caught a glimpse of the housecleaning supply aisle and his eyes went wide. He absolutely loves cleaning supplies. And even though we have a cleaning crew every 2 weeks, he is always on the hunt for that "right brush" or that perfect spray for our countertops. I think it's adorable, if not a bit compulsive. As we walked down a few aisles we realized there so many things we could purchase but I was determined to stay focused on the iguana shields. I did, though, ask about garden tweezers, as I had recently acquired a bunch of succulents and have a long tweezer to pull out the pieces which died and had to be removed seemed better than trying to get them with my fat fingers. While at first it did not seem they had them, but a determined "floor person" looked it up in their inventory system and walked it over to me. What service. Impressive. Everyone was friendly. There were 3 cashiers. There are times when you go to Home Depot and there are only one! Are they more expensive than big box stores. Maybe on some items. But they appear to have many items big box stores do not carry. And they offer friendly service, a rarity in today's world. It was the first time I shopped there in the 19 years in the area. On 07/21/2025, I purchased a custom-cut piece of glass from the store. Unfortunately, the glass was cut incorrectly and did not match the specifications provided. I returned to the store on the 15th ( as I work 9-8pm and live outside of Deerfield beach ) day after the purchase with my original receipt to request a correction, store credit, or a refund. Upon speaking with the store manager, Frank, I was met with hostility instead of assistance. He immediately became confrontational, loudly claiming that a sticker had been placed on the glass--something that was completely untrue. Despite presenting my receipt and calmly explaining the situation, he refused to offer any resolution, including a refund, store credit, or re-cutting the glass to the proper size. The situation escalated when Frank entered my personal space, aggressively told me to get out of the store, and shockingly stated that he would "take me down." This behavior was not only unprofessional but also threatening and completely unacceptable, especially coming from someone in a managerial role.I am requesting immediate action regarding this incident. read more

Our grill had a chip in it after only a few months. Bill at Ace worked with the manufacturer directly to solve the problem and had a new piece sent and installed. Bill was great to work with and I would highly recommend this Ace store (their inventory to huge) for all hardware needs!! read more

Ace is the Place! knowledgeable staff, if they don't know they find someone that does. Brought screens in that HD wanted $200 a piece for which had to be ordered online had no idea if it'd be the right size, at Ace they ordered it fit perfect and was only $40 per screen. If they don't have something in stock, they have the ability to order it . You're treated and greeted nicely from the minute you walk in the door not just a number, you also can save time by going to somebody in the know. Have already been back! read more

The employees at Ace Hardware in Deerfield Beach are a true dream team! I had an extremely challenging project that required outside of the box ingenuity and inventiveness. Frank appeared like Batman to help me and came up with a solution only a seasoned professional who is in the top 1% of experts could have figured out. Not only did he logically layout the parts and the sprinkler repair plan for me to follow, but he made me feel like I could handle this without any problems. This project required two trips to Ace Hardware and they treated me like I was their most valuable customer. But guess what? Everyone in the store from the customers to the Ace employees were all smiling because of the positive atmosphere they create. I live local less than a mile from this Deerfield Beach store on Federal Hwy and I used to be a regular customer, but I won't be going there again, because today they made my little 5-year-old daughter feel like a criminal for allegedly taking some plastic wrap off a couple of generic paint brushes while she was playing. She's only five and was just playing on the floor while she waited for the grown-ups in the paint department and one of the guys at the store suddenly decided to take it upon himself to intimidate her over what she was doing (trust me, she is only five and yes his actions intimidated her). As I said, she was playing (directly supervised by me) while waiting for her mom in the paint department. She had just returned from Catholic pre-school, and she was hot and tired and doing a great job sitting and playing quietly and patiently on the floor while she waited for the grownups. I admit that I'm her fully grown adult father and I was supervising her while her mother addressed the paint. I also confessed at the store that I got her most of the "toys" from the shelves including a small plastic paint bucket and some plastic scrapers and a small roller off the shelf to play with (small plastic things that were not going to harm her or anything else). She is 5 years old after all and was keeping herself busy by sitting quietly on the floor organizing some painting tools and singing softly to herself. Suddenly one of the apparently anti-children staff that work there decided to show up and loom over her while he threw a fit over some plastic wrap that he blamed her for removing from about 3-4 low quality paint brushes out of the cheap generic brush bin full of dozens of cheap generic brushes. I don't even think she removed the plastic wrap by the way as I didn't see her do it and there were already many brushes in the cheap generic brush bin without plastic wrap. I'm not sure what the hissy fit was all about anyway at what is supposed to be a family friendly neighborhood store, and I was certainly surprised to find out that children are not welcome there. The guy continued to move from the plastic wrap issue to chastise my five-year-old girl for "rearranging the entire store" because she had some generic plastic scrapers lined up on the floor and he set about making a big scene over it. He insisted on crawling around and returning the few simple items to the pegs on the wall and refused any assistance because he was apparently so incensed over the mistreatment of his store by a 5-year-old. Frankly I was stunned and feel terrible for the long-term adverse psychological effect this had on my daughter. Had I known I would have stayed in the car with her while her mother went in. This guy didn't care or bother to acknowledge she is only a 5-year-old and one who has been in the store dozens of times by the way, and in fact the last time they gushed over her and gave her a toy (which has now sent very mixed signals). This guy also failed to see that she was only lining up the items in a neat little line. Ever since she was much smaller, she has enjoyed putting items in a neat little line and then returning them to exactly where they belong - that is the whole point of her game, organizing neatly and then carefully put away exactly from where they came. It's a game she has played out to entertain herself for years and one that fits perfectly with the simple peg model of organization of the store. I was not destructive and did not end up in "reorganizing" this or any store, it's simply take out, line up and then return to original order and location. But this guy had no patience and did not give her the chance. He took everything from her and started putting them away as if she was a bad person who had intentionally destroyed his store and only he could fix it. It was completely unnecessary and irrational, and he even refused my admissions of guilt, my apologies and offers to assist. This might seem to some as trivial, an over-reaction by me, or an example of a bad child allowed to run rampant under the supervision of even worse and disrespectful parent --- and those of you are entitled to your opinions and I would apologize to everyone one of you if you think that way. But I think it was unfair and unreasonable to make my child feel like a criminal when she was only playing quietly under her father's care in a store full of grown-ups. Some people and some stores are just not children friendly but if that is something that bothers you to your core then you should have a sign on the door that children are not permitted. It was unfair to treat her that way and we will not be going back to this store. read more

I purchased a pair of Oakley sunglasses 3 weeks ago and thought I lost them so I made a second purchase 4 days ago of the identical pair, wearing them once, then I found my first pair which I purchased at the same location, had a receipt for the second pair explained my situation to the manager but he refused to process a return. I have traveled a few miles to support this location in the past instead of going to Lowe's or Home Depot which are closer to me for a few years but I will never do business with Ace Hardware again. I own a repair service and spend a lot of money there but never again. Just not good business in my opinion. It's not like constantly return items there. read more

My Traeger grill is a Bull. Built in the early 90's. The auger stopped working and one of the front legs/wheels collapsed. I asked Traeger for help and they Reccommended Ace Hardware in Deerfield. I spoke with Bill Moors he offered to come get it but I was excited and took him myself. I left it there with hopes that Bill might get it up and running again. When I got the call that "it's ready " I was shocked, it's only been there 2 days. I rolled up and met w Bill M and Frank T, They fixed the leg ,wheel,Auger and added a control panel that has meat probes and will cook at over 400+degrees ! You guys have brought new life into this smoker and my wanting to get him back in top shape. That's no Bull !!! The people working here are all ;outgoing, friendly and helpful ! The seller had lost the stabilizing bracket and screws and I wasn't sure I'd be able to find them online. Amazing experience.... Purchased a Weber Grill from my local Home Depot. Less than 1 year later, the Grill started to fall apart. It looked like a grill that was 10 years old. Hope Depot was no help even though I purchased the Grill from them. I escalated my complaint directly with Weber. The head of customer service at Weber took over the case and of all the stores in South Florida, they called on Bill Moors from the Deerfield, FL Ace Hardware! Bill worked with Weber tirelessly over the course of an entire month to make sure Weber sent all needed replacement parts. Then he sent over the store delivery van to pick up my tired grill. Within a week, they called me to let me know if was all finished and they even dropped it back off and made sure to set everything up! So rare to find such great and professional service these days! The larger chains think people only buy on price! In the future, anything I need in the way of hardware, garden equipment and Grills, I will only deal with this store! They had the specialty Refrigerator water filter I needed. No one else had any in this entire area.

Make sure before you buy something online, they have it. Their system is still in 1990's. You can purchase something on line and they may not have it. Happened to me several times. I enjoy going to HD where they are very helpful and they can tell me all inventory and exactly where to get it! Much better system. I don't have time to go online with ACE and find out after finding, checking out, purchasing and being told the item is "ready for pickup". That they don't even have it - anywhere. And to top it off, I get a call from corporate saying there is "nothing wrong with the system", this just happens. Suggest you all upgrade to 2020! read more

Employee was extremely rude on the phone when trying to get info on a product I wanted to check stock on and when I asked his name he hung up the phone. I called back to speak to management. Here the best part! Mr Manager says "well, why did he hang up?" As if this was my fault and he asked "what do you want because we're busy right now". Although this is my local ACE Hardware, I will definitely never return to this location and drive the extra 5 min to Home Depot or Lowe's. I visited in December 2019 for a few lightbulbs & require goods from this store type a few time annually. I like ACE Hardware, as they are a corporate chain, but feel like a mom & pops shop. The floor associates tend to be older gentleman who know hardware & likely worked in the field most of their lives. I get the impression they want to be there & enjoy working with people. I imagine it is a nice time in someone's career when they are not desperate for money & can enjoy their job. Regardless, they tend to be friendly & extremely knowledgable. The few times I visited were right before closing & I did not feel I was being rushed out the door. Just this feeling alone tells alot about the people that service ACE. Regarding prices, I have not priced matched ACE with Home Depot, but I feel ACE might be slightly most pricy & have less SKU. I am still fine with paying a little more for great service & experience. I do not love Home Depot cause the associates there do not care about customers & it always felt like a big dirty warehouse. I recommend ACE Hardware. ACE is aces! read more
