I chose the dual membership for 2 people and it's $95. It has many benefits so check it out online. Parking can be difficult and it requires paying for parking unless you are smart and use public transportation. That way you can have relax and avoid driving downtown. I love this museum and the ability to take the local train and be dropped off by the free 16th Street bus.

Sections include modern and contemporary African art, arts of Oceania, Western American art, latin American art, indigenous art, alaskan art. They also have textile, fashion, and architecture exhibitions. They also have rotating temporary exhibitions. When I visited, it was European and American art. I had a little fun finding paintings of judgmental looking people and making a "we listen and we judge" instagram post. All the rooms are large and well curated/presented. I visited on a Tuesday and it was free (I still donated). On regular days, admission is 30 dollars, but gets you into all three museums, including the Kirkland (reviewed separately), which is right next door. I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves as far as the variety available at this museum.

You have to park in the street. They do give you a free coin to store your belongings in a locker for the duration of your stay. The museum itself is kinda small. Although it has 3 floors, there's only 1-2 exhibitions per floor. The rooftop is also small & the outdoor city views are sort of limiting. So in general, you can easily complete the whole museum in a matter of 30-60 min tops. They feature rotating exhibitions. So every few months or so, the theme is different & you can come back to see totally new artwork. It's really nice that they feature local artists that are Denver based and display their ideas & artistry to the world. I really enjoyed spending some time in the afternoon walking around & admiring some of the art. It was definitely a good way to kill time & spend time indoors away from the heat/cold.

It still has that signature Meow Wolf chaos and "what am I even looking at" energy, but it feels like the artists came together with a really clear shared vision. Instead of just exploring random cool rooms (which I also love), this one felt more curated - like every space is part of a larger, connected world you're slowly uncovering as you go. It's immersive in a way that kept pulling me deeper in the longer I stayed. I've loved all the Meow Wolf locations for different reasons, but Denver is the one that felt the most complete as an experience. If you're only going to pick one, this is the one I'd recommend!

Designed specifically to display Clyfford Still's work, this "small" museum (as many of my museum colleagues would call it) is actually quite large - enough for a few hours of wondering... The building itself is a beautiful and perfectly complements the art collection's scale, themes, and colors. I was told it has over 3000 pieces (over 90%) of the artist's works; and he believed the best way to experience an artist's work was by seeing it all in one place. It was indeed a great experience to be submerged in such an environment -- you feel so much more who he was and what he wanted to express. Must give this "small" museum a BIG applause! Everything was nicely done and it was a great pleasure to visit. AND, their website (https://clyffordstillmuseum.org/) is absolutely amazing! I've seen many museums' websites and theirs is the first one where I saw "Accessibility Adjustments" tool (look for the small person in a circle at the lower left corner) that helps people with different challenges. Watching the presentations about the solar system makes you feel like you're right there, riding alongside the planets and floating through space. Walking through the museum, interacting with the exhibits, and learning from the stewards made the visit even more enjoyable. It was also awesome to see school groups and summer camps exploring the museum. I love that the kids have a designated place to sit and eat their lunches instead of having to use the café. You do need to purchase a ticket to enter so I suggest doing that ahead of time. It also gives you a timeframe to enter just so it spaces out the crowds. Did you know that there's a scavenger hunt for gnomes, I think they look more like elves though lol the list of where to find the gnomes can be found on the museums website. This was really fun because it kept me guessing on where to look next, and when we came up to exhibit that supposedly had the gnome, I got to look really close at all the details of that exhibit. There are three levels to the museum, the ground floor, the second level and the third floor. Each one is broken up into different categories. They also have a laser show going on with different songs or movies for the theme. You do need to reserve a spot online so make sure you check out the showtimes, each week is different. I went with a friend and we blocked out three hours for this. The laser show we chose was roughly 30 minutes so we ended the day with the laser show. So the museum itself only took 2 1/2 hours.

We had a reservation for the collection at 1:45 so we ate at the Tuscany Coffee & Deli (on the 16th St mall) for lunch and while we waited for our appointment. Initially we were confused about the collection hours and we left a VM and emailed but no response to see if we could go to the collection before our scheduled appointment (which we did anyway). A employee explained the appointment was to tell how many people would attend at a certain time. We arrived to find the building doors were locked but luckily a gentleman who works there let us in and also let us into the elevator to the 5th floor where we were greeted by an employee who explained about the visit. We were free to roam the entire 5th floor of each office at our leisure (only saw one other couple) that held exhibits from contemporary artists from around the world. There were information in the rooms providing brief descriptions of each exhibit. Some of the items were interactive. The light show is timed throughout the day and I arrived like 45 minutes early, so I had plenty of time to explore their "downstairs area." Tons of free arcade games. I played Pac-Man and whatever game it is where you shoot aliens. There is also a car racing game. There is an old school basketball game hooked up to an old TV. They have a large projector screen hooked up to a Nintendo switch with Mario and Zelda games. I actually really enjoyed coloring in the many coloring books they had. They have retro, funky furniture, fun decorations, and merch for sale. The light show itself is a fun time! No videography or photography during, but they do a basic show at the end so people can take photos and videos. You can lay on the floor or back in a pew on one of the many fluffy stuffed pillows and watch and meditate. They have great stoner music too (think Pink Floyd). And of course, the chapel itself is beautiful. No partaking in cannabis while in the building. They keep it family friendly (there were toddlers there when I went, but they were well behaved). They have multi-denominational church services a couple times a month where people can use cannabis. There is a lot of nearby street parking, as it's kinda in a residential area, though I took a Lyft. Also a mile or less walk to some of the main food and bar sites on Broadway.
