We searched and visited about 6 other venues and overwhelming chose LUC. The ambiance was perfect, the food was totally yummy, the servers were friendly and helpful, sound system is great, nice dance floor, parking was free and best of all Dan and Victoria are THE BEST event coordinators I have ever used. Bottom line.... I loved my wedding and truly had a great time. And it was beautiful, and tasteful, and seamlessly coordinated. And the credit goes to Dann and Victoria and the rest of the staff at LUC. My fiance and I had to change our wedding date, and scrambled to find a new venue and replan the reception. We totally lucked out when LUC was available with only two months notice. We switched from a high stress, DIY reception, to a full service reception at LUC. What I might have saved doing my own coordinating I would have probably had to spend on therapy. Instead, I met with Dann and Victoria a couple of times, they got a feel for what our needs and priories were and I left much fo the organization in their capable hands. The site is so beautiful that very little was needed in terms of additional decor. Between our florist and the candle package, the reception was gorgeous. The food was delicious. Our guests raved. The reception itself was beautifully "choreographed" ... the night flowed smoothly from one event to another under the guidance of Dann and staff. He kept the party moving without anyone feeling rushed. And by the end of the night the dancefloor was packed, my groom and I were grinning at what a good time we had, and the compliments on "the best wedding I've ever been to..." kept rolling in. read more

'Tis the season.... for holiday parties and engagements! If you're looking for a place to host an event, look no further than Lake Union Cafe. Located just under the University Bridge on Eastlake Ave, this charming historical cafe is tucked away in the quietest little part of the city without actually leaving the core city itself, giving you some peace and quiet without requiring your guests to drive miles and miles into the woods. In truth, I inherited this contract from a prior employee at my company. When I first picked it up, I found Lake Union Cafe too expensive for my taste - we're a young company after all, with very limited funding and a tight budget. Truthfully, I was less than impressed by the prices of most venues. However, after connecting with Tasia, I found myself somewhat comforted: she was prompt, well organized, and has a wealth of knowledge that she was able to pass on to us. She made the whole process a thousand times smoother, and was well worth the value of the contract and then some. She answered all of my contract questions after I had discovered it, and after chatting a bit to get a feel for our company, was able to help me brainstorm how to set everything up. Like all event planning companies, she had a list of preferred vendor for the venue - but she went above and beyond, and even got a couple of quotes for me as well! She regularly checked in with us to see how we were doing on our end as we approached the party, and overall was a huge help to getting stuff done. The venue itself is beautiful. While the venue has its own in-house bakery and floral division (why go anywhere else? This place is a one stop shop!), its classic architecture and design by itself is already breathtaking. I did not ask for any additions, but I'm sure many weddings do, and from the pictures they seem to do a great job setting up. The front reception space offers a great quite space for introverts, another great addition for large parties that may feel overwhelming for some. The staff working the venue is great, very responsive to requests and keeping an eye out for everything for us, from broken glasses to candles going out. I was most relieved to NOT have to set up or tear down: the staff took care of everything for us, which was a huge weight off of my shoulders. Most pleasantly, I got tons of compliments on the food! We opted for a 3 station buffet, allowing people to pick and choose per their personal dietary restrictions. Everyone seemed to a different favorite item, which made me very happy - it seems we managed to satisfy everyone! A coworker also recently went to her husband's company party, and came back letting me know that she preferred the food we chose at LUC over the hotel they had gone to for his. :) I've recommended LUC to a couple of engaged friends now, and will likely continue recommending them any time anyone needs a venue. If it weren't for a request for continued variety by our leadership team (they want to explore more venues in Seattle now that we've discovered this gem), I would have booked our next holiday party already! We chose the Lake Union Cafe for our venue because they offer the convenience of having the ceremony & reception all in one location, the vintage style was appealing, and we'd read great reports on the food. The venue & staff exceeded all our hopes and expectations. Despite a change in staff, their new on-site coordinator picked up where the prior staff had left off without any issues whatsoever. Tasia is professional, personable, detail-oriented, flexible and just fantastic to work with. She guided us through our rehearsal, set up all of my futzy decor even better than I could have possibly imagined, and shepherded us through our big day with calm, aplomb, and grace. The food was even better than when we'd had our tasting back in January, and was exceedingly complimented by our guests in the days after the wedding. This includes the pies we had for our dessert, which were simply delicious. Oscar, who took over after Tasia bowed out for the evening, was just as helpful, sending us off with boxes of food as well as pie. I would highly recommend Lake Union Cafe. My husband and I were married at the Lake Union Cafe in November of 2010. We LOVED every part of the wedding and would not have changed a thing. We would recommend the LUC to anyone!!! Dann and Victoria are amazing! The planning process was easy and fun. Each time we met with them, we felt more excited and less stressed about the wedding! I am pretty sure that never happens to people. They were so helpful and are extremely easy and fun to work with. They truly want you to have an amazing experience. They are also very upfront with everything; there were no surprises. You cannot beat the location and price for a wedding in the city. All our guests had a wonderful time, I cannot tell you how many people told us our wedding was the best they've been to! The food was delicious! The venue was gorgeous; we bought the candle package which was incredibly romantic. They were able to make a great cake to my exact sketched out specifications in just a day or so, and then were willing to stay a bit after hours so a friend of mine could pick it up on the weekend. Last week, my husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Lake Union Cafe, and we could NOT be more pleased. This place is so beautiful, with a sort of old-school Hollywood vibe to it. We wanted a venue that had character of its own, rather than us having to create something ourselves from a boring blank slate. Lake Union Cafe fit the bill in every possible way. We had the added issue of planning our wedding from another state, and Tasia made everything so simple for us. She kept in contact constantly, answered all of our questions, and made clear exactly what she needed from us throughout the planning process. The day of our rehearsal, LUC allowed us to come in an hour early to practice a surprise skit my husband had planned. Now, this skit was very out of the ordinary for a wedding, so we didn't expect a ton of enthusiasm from the staff at LUC as far as helping us execute it. But Melissa, the day-of event coordinator, met us at the venue and immediately took on the challenge of helping us stage this thing. An hour late during the rehearsal for the ceremony, she was extremely professional and helpful. She made me, as a bride, feel so much less anxious about what was going to take place, and made sure that everyone in our wedding party was entirely prepared. The day of our wedding, we arrived to see everything set up immaculately, illuminated by the glow of hundreds of candles (the candle package they offer is great for couples who prefer a more intimate vibe during the wedding). Everyone working in the venue demonstrated such kindness and professionalism. Melissa again was present to make sure things went off without a hitch, which I'm sure was challenging given our specific sequence of events. The bridal suite and groom's room were stocked with wine and delicious snacks to help us all take some of the edge off. The folks working at the bar were SO kind, and made our three self-concocted signature cocktails for our guests all night long, without issue. The food was delicious as well. The seating arrangements worked perfectly for our crowd of 100 guests, and the dance floor was just the right size to allow everyone ample room for dancing, without being too large and intimidating. I'll stop short of writing a novel and just say that our wedding was perfect - thanks in large part to all of our amazing vendors, and especially to Lake Union Cafe. We also ordered our cake from LUC's in-house bakery, and Amy, the Executive Pastry Chef, made a silly request of mine come to life just as I had pictured it. The cake and cupcakes themselves were delicious, and stayed moist even the next day. read more

I wish I could write something that acknowledges the care that true professionals in the hospitality industry take in every interaction... let alone a $10,000 event....But in this circumstance I can't. The lack of professionalism was evident from start to finish, but alas, the check was signed. My brother chose to hold his wedding reception at lake union cafe.... (I am an "industry professional" based in manhattan) I was angry when they missed the appointment with my mother for floral arrangement and placing.... Pissed off when the "full bar set up" did not have proper bar tools (we provided all alcohol, and then the tools needed) and furious when the staff was drinking the booze we provided, while working! No joke, the "manager" was taking cocktails into the kitchen all night! As a bar manager/wine director I notice these things.... Great, we are all having a good time, right? On my brother's dime! Then, when the newlyweds, who planned the whole event, went back the next day for the unconsumed wedding cake and leftover food (which overnight storage was agreed upon and expected) "there were no leftover's" I'm saying 3/4ths of a wedding cake disappeared and lots of grilled veggies.... Also gone was a case of beer and a magnum of grey goose! THEFT! The very unprofessional bartender opened a case (12 btls!) or red wine without cause! They took home at least 8 btls of opened wine..To add insult to injury: I am a paid and published mixologist in NYC, I created bride and groom cocktails for the newlyweds for this reception with in mind that they need to be quick and easy to make... The hired bartender refused to follow my recipes (so simple) everything we prepped and made ready for him... The "manager" said "he will follow ur recipe till he gets busy, then he will do it his way" UNACCEPTABLE!! But that's what happened .... Because the bartender was too busy drinking gentlemans jack (provided by us) out of the bottle! Witnessed! Long story short, so many things went wrong and the lack of professionalism was noted from the start... Sad part: I didn't get to taste my brothers wedding cake because lake union cafe lost it- and my brother and new wife spent too much time wondering why they were ripped off so badly... I say: If your employees want to drink tell them to buy their own booze... If they are hungry... Feed them, but not with some one else's wedding cake... The employees are greedy idiots and the owners are either cheap or stupid or both... Do NOT use this event space- u will most likely leave the experience feeling angry and ripped off! I am SO glad we chose LUC for our May 30th wedding. The venue is beautiful needing minimal additional decorations, and the event coordinators make planning a breeze. Now the food. Best wedding catering, EVER. All of our guests were wowed by the food, from the passed Gorgonzola beef appetizers, to the entree, down to the dinner rolls. I need to get a makeover and pretend to be in the market to get married, just so I can go to their food tasting again. Their cupcakes and cheesecake are also amazing, best cake to frosting ratio and not too sweet frosting. I've been to two other weddings at different venues where the bride and groom ordered cupcakes from LUCs custom bakery, and both times the cupcakes were incredible. The event coordinators were always quick to respond to email and met with us in person as much as we needed to in order to plan our big day. They were very organized and provided very clear and helpful info. JJ our day of coordinator was amazing. I would have been lost without her. She met with our DJ first thing when he arrived to set up to plan the events of the evening with him and made the night go by so smoothly. I'll recommend LUC to everyone I know in the market for a venue or bakery. (Mainly so I can eat the food again :) ) Only negative - it's in a old Seattle building, so their lovely Art Deco vintage decor also means their ventilation is also vintage. Bring a coat in the winter and dress light if we get lucky and it's a hot day in Seattle in the summer. read more

My husband and I got married there in July, 2009 and we had a very positive experience with Lake Union Cafe. We live in Los Angeles and had to plan the wedding from afar which we were afraid would be difficult. Although it had its challenges, working with Victoria and Dann at LUC made the planning so much easier. Victoria was thoughtful and eager to make sure that we got what we wanted in our contract. My husband has an eye for contracts and must have asked her to update it 4 times so we had everything in writing. Victoria updated it every time without skipping a beat. She also was willing to add curtains to the space for our wedding which required more work on her part. Dann is exactly what you want on the day of your wedding. He makes sure decorations are what you envision and goes above and beyond to make the space just for you. He is wonderful at keeping the reception moving so that the couple eats, the toasts are done on time and the dancing can begin! If we had a concern, they addressed it immediately. I highly recommend LUC. For the price you pay the food is great, they let you bring your own alcohol and the staff is experienced. Our guests raved about the space too which is a testimonial in and of itself. read more

When we first decided to start planning a wedding reception, my husband and I assumed it would be a matter of picking a venue, writing a check, and waiting for everything to fall into place. After talking to a couple of venues, we quickly learned exactly how much work was involved in these things. Flowers? Menus? Set-up and clean-up? I'm sure there was more, but I pretty much stopped listening after that...and then along came Lake Union Café. From our first meeting with Victoria, I knew we were in good hands. She assured us that we could have as much or as little control over the event as we wanted, which is exactly what we wanted to hear. We opted for the latter (i.e. little control), and so she basically took care of everything...event set-up, clean-up, decorating, flower assistance, etc. She helped us decide the menu, the layout of the event space, and was very responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the process. We did want more control over some parts of the event, and the level of accommodation provided by Victoria and Jimmie was incredible. Really, incredible. They responded to virtually every request we made with, "No problem. We'll make it happen." It was very important that my mom provide the wedding cake for the event. As she was flying in from out of town, Victoria offered use of the café's refrigerator and freezer space to store my mom's preparation material. The day before the event, Victoria went so far as to introduce my mom to the café's pastry chef in order to coordinate shared use of the kitchen. This flexibility is something that definitely sets the Lake Union Café apart from other venues we considered which were bound by rigid policies and procedures, and helped as achieve the wedding reception we'd envisioned. The price quoted was slightly higher than other venues we considered, but after factoring in the included services, the Lake Union Café was very competitive. The venue itself is beautiful - from the antique chandeliers, to the art deco décor, to the calming views of Lake Union. As a result, only minimal (if any) decorations and flower arrangement were necessary. We were required to pay for a minimum of 100 guests, and since only 70 attended, Victoria provided extra food and appetizers to ensure that we received adequate value for the money we paid. The food itself was exceptional, and we continue to receive compliments from our guests to this day. Although we had primarily coordinated with Victoria when planning the reception, Jimmie supervised the event. We were initially concerned about this "shared" responsibility, but our concerns proved unfounded. If any problems arose during the event, we were certainly blind to them. Jimmie and his staff were reactive to every question or concern we raised during the reception, and ensured that our only responsibility was to enjoy ourselves. The event went as smoothly as we had hoped. The staff at the café was unwavering in their congeniality, professionalism, and dedication to provide an enjoyable reception - they were all simply a pleasure to work with. Although our reception was 3 months ago, we continue to look back on it fondly as one of the greatest days of our lives, and one that can largely be attributed to the Lake Union Café. read more

I recently coordinated an wedding reception at this awesome facility and couldn't have been more satisfied. Both Tasia and Beth did a fantastic job. Not only did they stay on top of all communications with me but also handled the myriad of changes from the bride and mother of the bride with grace and ease. The event went off without a hitch and the staff (although they must have been exhausted due to an earlier event) stayed right on top of everything. The location and atmosphere were perfect as the ceremony was held 5 minutes away and the waterfront was lit up beautifully. The cake was also done here and was not only gorgeous to look at but taste fantastic. I am looking forward to encouraging more brides to book this place. read more

We had our wedding at LUC last weekend and we are still glowing from the amazing time we had. LUC is such a beautiful, unique space. Everyone was raving about it -- from the beautiful marquee, to the supper club booths, the incredible chandeliers and the amazing candle package. Because the space is so beautiful on its own, it required very limited decoration, which was a huge plus. We went with the candle package (300+ candles) and it was so romantic. Tasia, Melissa and JJ were all amazing to work with. They were so nice and informative and helped us to make the best decisions for our group. They also worked incredibly well with all of our other vendors. We started with two tray passed appetizers (the pork was amazing), followed by a buffet dinner, cake/cupcakes and a late night snack (chicken and waffles). The food has been getting rave reviews from our guests this whole week -- particularly the butternut squash ravioli and the salmon. I personally wasn't a fan of the chicken and waffles but my friends devoured them! :) We also got our cake from the LUC bakery. This was the most economical, since LUC charges a pretty high fee if you bring in a cake from somewhere else. Luckily, the cake and cupcakes were incredible! We had an assortment of chocolate salted caramel, lemon raspberry, creme brulee, and chocolate hazelnut. We had a large group of gluten intolerant folks and both the bakery and kitchen staff were really accommodating -- both in making gluten free versions of items and labeling food clearly. I think my favorite thing about LUC is the dance floor. It's a little smaller than other spaces we looked at, which made it always feel full. There were also tables surrounding the floor, which made it easy for older folks to feel like they were part of the action without being on the dance floor when they needed a break. Finally, while not inexpensive, LUC can hold a high capacity (over 200pp) and Tasia was willing to work with our budget to help us figure out where/how to cut costs. LUC was the only venue my husband and I explored, for we were immediately in love with the location, facility, and the coordinators Victoria and Dann. LUC handles all the food, though we were able to bring in our own cake (or cupcakes in our case (NY Cupcakes-The Best) and our own booze. We held both our wedding and reception at the LUC, which comfortably accommodated our 180 guests. The fact we were married in December, I had very little decorating to contend with, for the LUC decorates for Christmas handsomely, which excluded red, so it did not interfere with my wedding colors, Brown and Tiffany blue. I only decorated the guest tables and the guest book area. We hired a band (Kennedy Brothers-They Rock), in which there is ample room for kicking up your heels or for falling (Not that I did). The service and food was exceptional. Not sure how many times we have heard how great the lobster bisque was, which was served at the Cocktail hour. Over the year, we have had numerous compliments on our wedding, in regards to how Fun it was, and how comfortable and great the venue was to how great the food was. There is also ample parking in the adjoining parking lot and on and across the street. We stayed at a hotel downtown as well as most of our wedding party along with numerous guest, therefore we ended up renting a couple of vans to transport the wedding party and guests. The only downfall really was at the end of the night, walking down to the Bridal Room, you must walk through the kitchen, in which I didn't lift my dress; therefore it soaked up dirty water from the kitchen floor. But other than that, it was PERFECT! Dann wouldn't let my husband nor I worry about a thing, and we didn't. Couldn't have asked for anything more! I would HIGHLY recommend the Lake Union Café for any event. read more

Attended my nieces wedding tonite. The venue was nice decorated nicely BUT while my niece and her husband selected tables for family that would put us (the family near the 'stage' and buffet ) mom and grandmoms at their own table. the buffet order was a bit off they started directing tables from the back of the venue (furtherest from where the family was seated) causing the brides family to be next to last directed to the buffet line (isn't the family follow the bridal party the first to go to the food?) the venue started on one side of the venue (table 1-8) then moved to the other side (9-16) making the brides family almost last. Took almost 1.5 hours to get served.. I left after waiting 30 min with no access to food, The manager followed me out the door and asked what was wrong and I told her the wait and being I not had dinner the wait was too long, She said they alternated sides they start directing them to the buffet. I explained that it was wrong - the family traditionally is first ( in every venue I have ever been to in 50 years to going to weddings, she offered to get me a place of food and bring it to me.. .I explained that would not be fair to the other 7 people at my table (all family) and that I was just going to leave and get some food (would have been another 30-45 min wait- turns out when my mom and rest of family got back home it was closer to 45-60 min before they got a chance at buffet).,.. I stopped at a place on way home and got some food - good food at that. just for info it was a 1 hr drive from where I lived to the venue. would not recommend the Lake Union cafe unless they let the bridal party was able to determine the order of who got fed first - ie bridal party, then family then other guests read more

Lake Union Cafe was excellent and we were very glad we chose them for our wedding, reception, dinner and cake for 100 guests. Our wedding was a success and we were very happy with all that LUC did for our big day. Lauren the Manager was thorough and organized in the planning and execution of our celebration. We had no surprises. Freddy the Bartender was exceptional, and our guests were treated well by every server, as smiles were the order of the evening. The venue was beautiful for our evening event and the candles really made for an intimate atmosphere. After our wedding their was unanimous praise from our guests for the quality of the food. Several said they'd never had meals that good at a wedding before. We had Salmon, Hibachi Beef, and Ravioli (for our veggie friends) and each dish was fresh, tasty and of high quality. The roast veggie sides and appetizers were great too. The spice cake, made in house, was excellent. We found cheaper venues, but none were as comprehensive in the services provided for the price. And the venue itself is very charming. The layout of the cafe was conducive to mingling and dancing. We appreciated the ability to bring in our own alcohol for the event - all we had to do was apply for a "Banquet License" (or something like that) from the city for $10. We highly recommend Lake Union Cafe. Every aspect of our wedding went well. read more

Had our wedding here in the summer. We selected this place because it was indoors with AC in case the weather did not cooperate. Only the 1/4 front of the building had AC, the back 3/4 does not. It was a very hot 90+ deg day with only the entrance area having an AC. Victoria Haberman said that the felt having some fans were enough, and they "tried their best" to find more AC. They obviously did not. The also did not have enough common sense not to use any candles in a very hot room. Dan, was in every single shot of our cake cutting time. We sure love having him in EVERY single shot because he was making sure things moved along, that he was on every shot. If you're gonna have your event here, make sure you have an event planner, and NOT in the summer months. read more

My husband and I got married at the LUC in 2004. We had both our ceremony and reception there, and everything was perfect! The facility is really unique and beautiful, including the fantastic view of Lake Union. Both Victoria and Dann were wonderful to work with, from the day we first toured the LUC through to the very end of our wedding. They answered my endless questions and offered many helpful ideas during our planning, and Dann was so great on our wedding day, keeping everything running smoothly and everyone happy, etc. The food was fabulous too! We went with one of the basic buffet options and added one extra entree. We had tons of food and our guests raved about the meal. The only minor thing that I didn't love about the LUC was that their downstairs bridal room was accessed down a narrow, cluttered/dirty stairwell through the kitchen. Perhaps they have improved access to the room now - it's been 2 1/2 years since my wedding. read more

We got married at Lake Union Café & Custom Bakery on 10/3/14 and it was AMAZING. Nothing went wrong, they were highly professional and extremely helpful. They did our cake as well, and it was perfect and looked EXACTLY like the picture I gave them, plus it was DELICIOUS. We did the pear/almond cake with pear/almond buttercream frosting. Lauren was very helpful and instrumental in making sure things went right. I'm so happy we found Lake Union Café to have our wedding at. I can't imagine it being anywhere else. We are still receiving compliments on the venue from friends and family, telling us the food and venue are the best they ever had/seen at a wedding before. The food was SO GOOD! My daughter got married here two weeks ago and it could not have been more perfect! The venue looked stunning with the added candle light package. The staff was accommodating and professional with no detail left to chance. The guests raved about the food-especially the mushroom ravioli. Recently went to a friends wedding at this place. It was a beautiful sunny Saturday and the view overlooking the lake below was fabulous. The inside of the venue is fantastic. They do a very nice job of transitioning from the ceremony to the reception. The food at the buffet was also very good. They also have a nice hardwood floor for dancing. read more

I had the chance to be part of a beautiful wedding at Lake Union Cafe which was absolutely wonderful and was at least in part due to the wonderful staffing at Lake Union Cafe. First, the venue is beautiful. The bridesmaids room looked rather amazing, and the dungeon that they called the groomsmen's room was at least entertaining. The bartenders were quick and responsive. The food, especially the veggie ravioli dish was pretty damn good, too. And the wedding planner? A breath of snarky fresh air. Highly recommended. read more

The Lake Union Cafe was the perfect venue for our reception. Tasia was amazing to work with and helped my fiancé and me create the reception we envisioned. We loved that we didn't have to put much effort into decorating because the venue is already so beautiful. The food is delicious, too!! We had so many guests tell us how amazing the food is. We also used the bakery for our wedding cake, and we are glad we did! Amy and Kevin listened to our ideas and created exactly what we wanted. We have no compliants about Lake Union Cafe. Dann and Victoria were so wonderful to work with, they were very accomodating, responsive, and flexible while planning the wedding that they made it a lot less stressful for us. The teamwork between the two of them was great, everything was executed perfectly. The staff was very professional, the food was delicious and all our guests loved it, and the venue is so beautiful that not much other than candles and small flower arrangements were needed to decorate. On the wedding day, Dann walked me around the room before everything started so I could take it all in and see what everything looked like. That was great, because if he had not done that the night would've just flown by and I probably wouldn't have really looked at the room in detail. We couldn't be more pleased with the venue and the staff at LUC and would recommend anyone who is looking for a venue to hold their wedding/event there. read more

Amazing taste, presentation, communication & professionalism! We had to plan our wedding remotely from Chicago so were not able to meet in person or do any tasting. We were taking a leap of faith based off other reviews. LUC communicated with us via phone and email, asked questions, answered all of ours and delivered with beautiful cupcakes that matched our vision and were sooo tasty! Many of our guests commented on how good the cupcakes were and loved that they weren't too sweet. Although expensive, the quality matched what we paid for. They provided the cupcake stand and left a box so we could easily take home the left overs. They even matched the cupcake papers with our wedding theme. Highly recommend LUC!! read more

The Lake Union Cafe is an ideal location for anyone that loves night-time ambiance. The prices are reasonable for a Seattle venue. Jimmie is phenomenal. He helped us with everything from answering questions when we first toured the venue, to guiding us through the rehearsal (showing us where we should stand, how to transition from father to groom, all those little details that even on OCD planner like me hadn't thought of). He even helped to coach us through the day/evening of our wedding (helping us keep to the timeline we had planned for dinner, toasts, dances, cake cutting, etc). Throughout the entire process of our wedding Jimmie never made us feel like our questions were a bother, nor did he apply any pressure that added to our stress. He listened to our plans and hopes for the evening and simply helped us to achieve them. The venue is stunning with tons and tons of candles, we received many compliments on the food, we were able to bring in our own booze with no fee, the staff in general was incredible and no one hesitated to go the extra mile to make our day special. PS: the LUC has a really cool history as evidenced by the interior decorations/style. The bride and groom prep rooms are also really cool. A very unique experience. read more

Lake Union Bakery did the cake for my wedding and it was a great experience. We used another venue but they still let us set up a private tasting for my fiance and I and our moms. The prices were very reasonable (they didn't even charge for delivery since our venue was in downtown Seattle) and the cake was delicious. The staff was all around great to deal with. read more

My husband and I just had our wedding at Lake Union Cafe and could not be more pleased we chose Lake Union Cafe as our venue for our ceremony and reception. The venue itself is beautiful, but what truly sets Lake Union Cafe apart from everywhere else my husband and I looked at is the staff. Dann, Victoria and the rest of the Lake Union Cafe staff are absolutely amazing! I am not a person to pass along responsibility easily, but I felt more than comfortable handing over the reins to Dann and his team. They had every single thing I could have thought of covered and before I knew it even needed to be done. Not only were they great to work with on rehearsal and wedding day, but they were so helpful throughout the planning process. They gave me advice on how to save money, help things to run smoothly, etc. The dinner and cake were also amazing! Everyone I spoke to at and after the wedding raved about how much they enjoyed the food and how attentive the staff was. At the wedding not only was the staff attentive to my husband and I but they made sure both our parents and grandparents were very well taken care of and comfortable throughout the entire evening. Dann was on top of everything from offering to plate dinner for my husbands grandpa, doctoring up my mother in laws shoes to make them walk-able, quickly tracking down my lipgloss before being introduced as husband and wife, busting out safety pins to fix my bustle when a button ripped off while dancing and I'm sure hundreds of other things that went over my head. I would recommend Lake Union Cafe, Dann and Victoria to everyone I know! I would not have changed a single thing and could not be happier with how everything turned out. My husband and I looked at so many wedding venues it made my head spin, but when we stepped inside Lake Union Café, I suspected we had found the one - and when we met with Dann and Victoria, we knew it was meant to be! I have nothing but good things to say about LUC - in my opinion, it has more personality and class than any other venue I've seen, the layout is perfect (especially for smaller weddings), the plated dinners are AMAZING... but what really sets LUC apart is the staff. Victoria was instrumental in our planning, the catering staff was so helpful and kind, and Dann... well... I'm in love with Dann. I've VERY type A, but I couldn't have been happier to hand the reins over to him! He executed my vision and plans to perfection and made me laugh the whole time. I was able to let go and just enjoy my wedding, which was PRICELESS. And speaking of price - there isn't a better deal to be had. It's not cheap, but considering what you get (food, staff, set-up/take-down, a day-of coordinator, a venue that needs very little décor, and the ability to have a stress-free day), it simply can not be beat. I'd recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I'd stand on a mountain and shot it over Seattle... but Yelps seems more useful nowadays!. read more

My husband and I got married at the Lake Union Café on 12-2-12 and could not be happier with our choice to have the ceremony/reception here! We had a short engagement and I could not have done it all without the help of Victoria and Jimmy. These are amazing people that truly LOVE their job and it shows! Both of them were on top of every detail for the wedding and when it came to day of nothing was forgotten! Jimmy was very attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. I belong to a professional association that holds our monthly luncheons at the Lake Union Café. We have been doing so for many years now. It's the perfect spot for the luncheon; a Seattle location that is easy to get to and provides free parking. The food is always excellent. The Café provides a couple of main course options for attendees to choose from. The best part is the dessert, which has only gotten better with the addition of the pastry chef. read more

I went to a wedding there this last Saturday and was blown away. The space is gorgeous and just the perfect place for a small/medium wedding. The space lent for the ceremony to be done on the dance floor with a quick changeover during cocktails. The staff was friendly and the food was superb!!! The only downfall was the DJ didn't have 3 different songs people requested but the rest he played had us all dancing the night away!!!! read more
