    Shrimp Lobster Sauce (requested brown)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is nicely decorated and has white cloth tablecloths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers are experienced, pleasant and speedy. The menu is vast. We were not impressed with most of the app platter, but the dumpling were decent. The main dishes were OK (Ginger Beef & Shrimp Lobster Sauce) but not impressive enough to order again.

Imperial Garden is an Ok Chinese Place in Middleton. The food was Ok, came out really fast. The service was quick enough, although they weren't really busy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant inside is really big, subdivided into different rooms / sections.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior as a 90s feel although it is clean and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The pros: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Spacious, quiet place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food came out really fast The crispy duck and the sizzling ginger lamb were good [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was a little bummed out they didn't have any lazy Susan tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Besides the 2 dishes listed above, the rest of the food was just okay. They had some interesting interpretations (e.g. mushrooms in sautéed bok choy?!) but ultimately I thought the taste was neither distinctly Chinese nor Chinese-American (maybe there wasn't enough MSG/meat velveting).

Imperial Garden is a unique spot that combines a gas station, a Chinese grocery store, and a restaurant all in one! The grocery store is a pleasant surprise, offering a selection of meat, produce, and dry goods. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was my first time dining at the restaurant, which is quite spacious with two wings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stopped by on a Thursday at noon and were seated within a few minutes despite the restaurant being lively with over 10 tables of customers. We tried the lamb and moo shu pork lunch entrees. The portions were ok, and the flavors leaned on the saltier side. Service was efficient--our water glasses were refilled once, which is about what you'd expect during a lunch rush. As someone of Chinese descent now living in Madison after time in larger metropolitan areas, I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars. The menu could use more health-conscious options instead of focusing so heavily on breaded and deep-fried dishes. That said, it's a convenient and nostalgic spot for a quick meal.

We had few if any expectations but wow for a take out joint, it's exactly what you'd expect and hope for. No it's not authentic in a Chinese culinary way... but it's completely authentic in an American Chinese take out experience. The Sesame noodles were awesome - lip smacking, tasty, and burning... clinched Ling Pow Chicken was decent. The pan fired dumplings completely serviceable. I'm glad we rediscovered this neighborhood Chinese take out joint.

The last two orders were not hot and fresh, they don't bother the read any instructions any more and the quality of the food is just so bad now. The sweet and sour chicken tasted fishy. The chicken lowmein is just dry noodles with some onions and bad tasting slimy chicken pieces. The pork egg rolls were soft and mushy and the hot and sour soup mimics preset jello. My daughter laughed as it jiggled. I would not recommend ordering from here until they relearn how to do Chinese food. If I were the owner, I would be embarrassed for this to represent me. Before it went in the dumps- The place is clean, the service is great and the food is always made to order. SO, it's always hot, fresh, and delicious. It's our go-to for great Chinese food. Would definitely recommend!

While sometimes…read moreChinese cuisine can be hit or miss for me, I find that Chin's really prioritizes high quality! The rice is always perfectly cooked, the meat is always fresh and flavorful, and the ambiance is always polished and clean! It even has a patio for nice summer days! I've ordered the sesame chicken and the bourbon chicken so far, and I hope to come back for their stir fry soon!

I took my son there on a Sunday afternoon. No other customers. The place is modern and spacious,…read moreand clean. The menu prices were all at least a buck more expensive than what we expected from looking at the menus posted online. The Thai spring rolls were small but good. I ordered beef with vegetables stir fry with Hunan style sauce, which had one chili pepper icon hotness promised. The vegetables and beef ere okay, a bit on the skimpy side, but almost no chili heat and ruined by dumping sugar in it. I hate Chinese food destroyed by making it sweet for no reason other than to cater to some idiotic stereotype that Americans want sugar and grease in all their food. My son ordered beef and vegetable stir fry as well, with the Shanghai sesame sauce. He had the same complaint, his was supposed to have two chili pepper icon hotness but he said it wasn't hot at all, and he said it too was sugary. Big disappointment. Even the fortune cookies were disappointing, some crap about being a hit on social media. Stop dumping sugar into everything! Don't say it has some chili heat then serve it bland! I guess I understand why we were the only customers. The hunt continues for a nearby Chinese restaurant that does a good job. If we ever return, I will interrogate the guy taking the order and specifically ask if they have anything on the menu not ruined by dumping unnecessary sugar into it.

I really missed out! We initially planned to grab takeout from A-Mart Deli, but when we found it closed, I figured it was finally time to check out Tai's. Food came out super fast, the lady at the counter was very sweet when I asked her what she would recommend. The space is clean and cozy. Everything was fantastic! The egg rolls, sesame chicken, ribs, and the Chow Ho Fun were some of the best I've ever had. The only dish that didn't quite impress was the Pad Thai. It seems like the key is to stick with the Chinese dishes there rather than the Thai or Vietnamese options. Regardless, the food was incredible, and I think I hesitated to try it due to all the negative reviews. Now I know where I'll be going for my next Chinese takeout!
