The lemon chicken is a must try! Especially for picky kiddos that want chicken nuggets ! It kinda taste like a higher quality McDonald's but yummy! Haha

The dining room is nicely decorated and has white cloth tablecloths. The servers are experienced, pleasant and speedy. The menu is vast. We were not impressed with most of the app platter, but the dumpling were decent. The main dishes were OK (Ginger Beef & Shrimp Lobster Sauce) but not impressive enough to order again.

Imperial Garden is an Ok Chinese Place in Middleton. The food was Ok, came out really fast. The service was quick enough, although they weren't really busy. The restaurant inside is really big, subdivided into different rooms / sections. The interior as a 90s feel although it is clean and quiet.

The pros: Spacious, quiet place Food came out really fast The crispy duck and the sizzling ginger lamb were good Was a little bummed out they didn't have any lazy Susan tables. Besides the 2 dishes listed above, the rest of the food was just okay. They had some interesting interpretations (e.g. mushrooms in sautéed bok choy?!) but ultimately I thought the taste was neither distinctly Chinese nor Chinese-American (maybe there wasn't enough MSG/meat velveting).

Imperial Garden is a unique spot that combines a gas station, a Chinese grocery store, and a restaurant all in one! The grocery store is a pleasant surprise, offering a selection of meat, produce, and dry goods. This was my first time dining at the restaurant, which is quite spacious with two wings. We stopped by on a Thursday at noon and were seated within a few minutes despite the restaurant being lively with over 10 tables of customers. We tried the lamb and moo shu pork lunch entrees. The portions were ok, and the flavors leaned on the saltier side. Service was efficient--our water glasses were refilled once, which is about what you'd expect during a lunch rush. As someone of Chinese descent now living in Madison after time in larger metropolitan areas, I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars. The menu could use more health-conscious options instead of focusing so heavily on breaded and deep-fried dishes. That said, it's a convenient and nostalgic spot for a quick meal.

Good service but the food is lacking in spice and flavor in general. Highly mediocre Americanized Chinese food.

While they were busy, the service was so friendly and smiley- it made for such a fun time. Although they were busy, through a quick smile and usher to a table, somehow my sister and I were convinced to sit at a table with two other customers. While it was odd sitting at a table enough for six people with two strangers, we felt comfortable enough to have our own separate conversations because of the hustle and bustle around us. We ordered a plate of the housemade cat ear noodle four color vegetable. The vegetables could've been cooked through a bit more but their sauce was perfect for the dish and the noodle texture complimented the rest of the dish. We did think there might've been a higher ratio of noodle to vegetable which made for a heavier meal, so balancing those two could've been nicer. You'll definitely receive a large portion of food here- no fear haha Parking is available around the side but during peak hours definitely packed. They have free wifi!

We had few if any expectations but wow for a take out joint, it's exactly what you'd expect and hope for. No it's not authentic in a Chinese culinary way... but it's completely authentic in an American Chinese take out experience. The Sesame noodles were awesome - lip smacking, tasty, and burning... clinched Ling Pow Chicken was decent. The pan fired dumplings completely serviceable. I'm glad we rediscovered this neighborhood Chinese take out joint.

The last two orders were not hot and fresh, they don't bother the read any instructions any more and the quality of the food is just so bad now. The sweet and sour chicken tasted fishy. The chicken lowmein is just dry noodles with some onions and bad tasting slimy chicken pieces. The pork egg rolls were soft and mushy and the hot and sour soup mimics preset jello. My daughter laughed as it jiggled. I would not recommend ordering from here until they relearn how to do Chinese food. If I were the owner, I would be embarrassed for this to represent me. Before it went in the dumps- The place is clean, the service is great and the food is always made to order. SO, it's always hot, fresh, and delicious. It's our go-to for great Chinese food. Would definitely recommend!

I really missed out! We initially planned to grab takeout from A-Mart Deli, but when we found it closed, I figured it was finally time to check out Tai's. Food came out super fast, the lady at the counter was very sweet when I asked her what she would recommend. The space is clean and cozy. Everything was fantastic! The egg rolls, sesame chicken, ribs, and the Chow Ho Fun were some of the best I've ever had. The only dish that didn't quite impress was the Pad Thai. It seems like the key is to stick with the Chinese dishes there rather than the Thai or Vietnamese options. Regardless, the food was incredible, and I think I hesitated to try it due to all the negative reviews. Now I know where I'll be going for my next Chinese takeout!

We ordered the combo plates which includes fried rice and an egg roll. The garlic chicken (thin slices of chicken, baby corn, green peppers, mushrooms and broccoli) was flavorful and lightly sauced. The Szechuan beef (thin slices of very tender beef, onions, green peppers and matchstick carrots) was missing the spiciness we were used to in this dish. Both the egg drop soup and hot and sour soup were excellent. The fried wonton strip accompanying them were stale. After a few minutes in the toaster oven they crisped right up. The fried dumpling come with an excellent soy ginger dipping sauce that's a favorite.
