This is just a review for the takeout - but the interior is very cute and has sort of an upper and lower level. We got our usual chicken Tikka masala which was not your typical takeout - there were some actual veggies in there (red pepper and onions) and it had a really lovely smoky flavor to it. We also had the milagai podi idli as an appetizer which are basically little rice balls in a tomatoey spice mix and they were very tasty! We finally had the chicken chettinad which is another curry that was less cream-based than the other and we also ordered it a bit spicier as well. Looking forward to going back to this place for more! They have a really extensive menu that looks great, also they are halal certified!

Stopped in on a road trip on out way to Taliesin and had a wonderful lunch. Somosas, Fried chicken briyani and malai kofta were all delicious. It's a small, comfotable quiet spot with table service.

Thalaivas Indian N Chinese Kitchen just opened its doors last week. We saw the signs and just randomly stopped by. We tried the onion pakora, and wow, it's amazing! It's even better with that tasty green sauce. We all agree that they have one of the best chicken biryanis in town! You absolutely have to try the Malai Kofta, vegetable dumplings in creamy spiced gravy is just perfection. I didn't know what else to order and asked for advice, the server recommended the Mango Chicken Curry! It's this awesome blend of sweet and savory, with a mango-infused sauce and chicken that's so tender it practically melts in your mouth. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the Ghee Masala Dosa! It's crispy, buttery, and stuffed with a delicious potato filling. The staff were so attentive and caring, and the place is super cute. I've only been there once, and it's already my favorite Indian restaurant in the area! Go check out Thalaivas Indian N Chinese Kitchen!

We had the chili paneer! It exceeded my expectations. An amazing dish bursting with flavor. Medium spicy. One of my favorite dishes. Just like being in Bombay.

I ordered a dinner take out. Food was ready in 30 minutes. Goat fry biryani was my favorite item here. Chicken kothu porotta is a rare item here. It was a good try. Garlic naan and butter chicken were my other items. Both was really good.

I had a lovely solo dinner at Thalaivas in Middleton. I don't get to the west side often and heard good things about their eggplant curry in a reddit thread. It's a new place and not too busy, even on a Friday night. The food was absolutely divine. I adore eggplant and it was served in such an interesting format - quartered with stems attached and then stewed in a rich curry. The garlic naan had a comical amount of diced garlic on it, maybe a whole head. It was perfect. Run, don't walk over here!

Kind service, nice menu, great flavors and aromas, spicy, nice interior but could be cleaner

As an Indian, I don't usually go out for Indian food (my mom's cooking is better), but I decided to give this place a try because I was craving South Indian food (that my mom can't make). I can't speak to their North Indian cuisine, but I absolutely loved the plain dosa, chutneys, and sambar! I also had the Madras coffee, which was delicious as well. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. I'd happily come to this place again for brunch/lunch.

Pretty good, our first time here! The. Chicken tikka is more tandoori style grilled versus the sauce style. The wait staff was nice but kept forgetting our water when we asked. We would go back again. Not our favorite Indian in the area but was a solid place!

The items were preordered by the host - sesame chicken, naan, biriyani, plain rice, saag paneer and butter chicken. I had planned on skipping the meal because I have celiac disease and was worried about transmission of substances I couldn't eat. However I asked to speak to one of the men who'd set it up. He told me to avoid the naan and sesame chicken but that everything else was gluten free. His confidence assured me and so I was able to try the meal. The food could have used a little more spice but was delicious. There were huge chunks of paneer which I appreciated. I am so glad that the staff was knowledgeable about their menu. I have now got the confidence to visit the restaurant and try out the other gf options.

It's been far too many years since my previous visit to this place…read more But last night I ended that. A sudden wave of needing a spicy curry or vindaloo overcame my emotions. Next thing I knew I was in the parking lot and searching for Swagat. Because it was a Monday night it had only 3-4 tables of customers, so my order was ready before I was even thinking about it taking too long. The service was very friendly and personable as well. Suggestions were made while I was trying to decide what the last Indian dish I last had, and I'm relieved he suggested what he did. Vindaloo. Spicy beef and make it your top spice level. He started to caution me, but I was very intent about my capsaicin intake. Dall was me secondary items, yellow, and only at the middle point for heat. Plain naan. Very simple and direct. Upon returning home the scent was enormously delicious and inviting. The delicate long grain rice was perfectly cooked and such a subtle item to be actually a star on the dish, rather than a simple starch to take up space. Potatoes were large and delicate while firm. Beef, velvety soft and still not losing its texture. The yellow lentils were a bit different than I'd expected. I last enjoyed them ages ago and my recall was that they still held some of their form. These were cooked further down, not in an unpleasant or overly aggressive manner, just different than I was expecting. Delicious. Beautifully colorful, saffron(?) I'm unsure. Naan. Another item that deserves a starring role in a meal. This was far better than any of the recent times at either of the two nearby Indian restaurants that I've been spending more time than I now think I plan to in the coming months and years. Tonight I'm enjoying the food from last nights dinner. Should've taken some pics. But take out meals aren't artfully prepared. So they don't really matter anyway.
