Ive been here over a dozen times over the years. Always for the lunch buffet. Its average and the price is good. Nothing is going to blow your socks off but i find it a good lunch choice in the area. They seem to do a good job at stirring the dishes on the buffet and ive never found the restaurant to be dirty. The food was horrible, it was cold barely had much flavor. The waitress was pretty good, unfortunately the "manager" tried to yell at me staying the food wasnt cold. Well by the time she went to temp check the food, new food had been added on top of the old food and just mixed around. Also, witnessed a big thing of cross contamination, after they temp checked food they were taking the tongs for noodles and using them to stir SHRIMP. As someone with a SHELL FISH allergy I unfortunately did not get lunch. Overall I was not very happy. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was good and it was a very nice surprise when we received a senior citizen discount that we didn't even know about. PLUS if you get there before 3:00 you pay the lunch rate for the exact same food they offer at dinner time----and it saves you $3!! The only day they aren't open is Mondays. read more

Imperial Palace has been a favorite go-to for me and my family for years. While the regular buffet is usually good, for me, the hibachi beats all. It is always delicious, especially if the right person is manning the grill and putting the sauce on in the beginning, rather than at the end. We recently visited the restaurant three times, after taking nearly a year and a half off -- not because of the pandemic, but because the service and quality had taken a huge nosedive during the pandemic. Two visits during the pandemic caused us to give up on this restaurant, but I was so in the mood for it recently that we caved and went back... and kept going back. I'm happy to report that whatever hiccups they were having seem to be resolved. Favorite "regular buffet" dishes for me include honey chicken, bourbon chicken, pot stickers, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, vegetable lo mein, and those little fried doughnuts. I usually go for a mixed plate from the regular buffet after polishing off my plate from the hibachi. Only negative seems to be that they no longer have pork as part of the hibachi. For about $30 with drinks and tip for 2 people at lunch time, you can really get your money's worth and not be hungry later on. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here. read more

I took a date there and the lunch, not supper, was $36.49 for two meals and two sodas! My God, I could go get two steak dinners for that. It could have been warmer in there. It was like they had the vents on in place of the heat. My date said that she was freezing. I used to go there for the wonderful sushi and the Mongolian BBQ and the sushi, but the prices kept going up and now it's just ridiculous. Usually my husband and I are such a big fan of imperial palace. We have always loved there food but recently it hasn't been tasting right and just not a well experience. Well last night we were there with our almost 2 year old son and the meat they had was dry, chewy like rubber and very plain. Which I wouldn't of cared about until we ate the lo mein. We all got some and it was very different looking and tasted different. It was very slimy and I just thought they just changed their recipe until my husband and I smelled it. It smelled atleast a week old. After we smelled it we couldn't eat. We literally left right away and I ended up throwing up after we went to the grocery store. Now I find out I have food poisoning and can't stop throwing up and my stomach hurts so bad. I can't believe I spent $30 just to get sick! It's ridiculous!! If I could rate this place a 2.5 I would, but alas it only does full stars so I'll give it a very low 3 star. The reason for this rating maybe because I got in about 2hours before closing time and it looks like they were winding down operations already. The sushi chef pretty much cleaned out his work area and did not get any sushi with my dinner that Sunday evening I arrived. It was weird because there was still a good amount of people in the restaurant when I arrived. It wasn't crazy busy, but it wasn't super dead either. The food over all tasted like it had A LOT of MSG. I noticed this only because after two plates of food, I drank half of my water that was in my cup. I was like whoa, I didn't even know I drank all that water until I looked at it. Everything there was mediocre. Nothing really stood out that I liked except for the coconut shrimp. They could use bigger pieces of shrimp though. There was this teriyaki steak looking meat that was okay. Nothing great. They did have one dim sum though and it tasted pretty legit, that made me happy and reminded me of home a little bit. Over all, I MAY give this place another chance, but I might have to come a little earlier when the sushi chief is still putting out sushi. read more

As far as a buffett goes, this is ABSOLUTELY as good as it gets! Everything is fresh and delicious! There is a great sushi bar included with the buffett, and you can request something specific if it isn't a current selection on the bar. Plus, they have an extensive selection for the Mongolian BBQ. The selection on the actual buffett is always fresh & hot, never brown & gooey from sitting out too long, and they even have white AND brown steamed rice! I am a vegitarian; however, I used to be a carnivore, so I have experienced the meat dishes here and grilled steak with steamed veggies is so tender, it melts in your mouth! And the veggies are seasoned perfectly with just the right crispness, no soggy zucchini! They also have a cold section with a basic salad (lettuce, tomato, purple oinon, Ranch), a few cold salads (pasta, brocoli, etc) and fresh fruit. A very nice BONUS is that this is one of the cleanest buffetts in existance, even the bathrooms, which are spacious and fully stocked each time I've been here, are always spotless! I don't know how they do it! The sad part is that it is an hour away from me :( But we still try to go once every month or two. This is about perfect as a chinese buffett can be! My friend and I went in one night and were treated very poorly! The girl seating people at tables just gave us a dirty look when we walked in and huffed when she had to sit us at a table. My friend asked for a booth seat instead of the one she placed us at and the girl slammed her hand down on the table, ripped the paper off the table, huffed her way over to a booth seat, and slammed down the paper. We ate for about 10 min when a different server brought over the bill and expected us to leave! We JUST got there! They also only filled our drinks ONCE while they all sat over at a table talking. There was no way we were going to leave yet. I get there are some days you don't want to be at work, but you don't take that out on the customer. Bacon-wrapped shrimp! There are several forms of beef including Mongolian style cooked beef available at the custom counter where you can have your own combo cooked on the grill. There is teriyaki beef, chicken, pork. There are the Chinese-American classics like lemon chicken and General tso's chicken. There is endless rice, a salad bar and a sushi bar. There is hot and sour soup and an endless pot of Chinese Tea. I don't know how they make money here, I'm a low carb eater and I pile my plate with pork and seafood products. Best Buffet we have ever been to. They have something for everyone. The sushi bar was my favorite. There are many varieties of sushi. They have soup, 3 different bars of food and a Mongolian grill. First time to this buffet. Usually hit the others on Peach St. I was pleasantly surprised. $10.99 all day on Sunday? Yes, please! Variety of sushi made fresh right there. Mongolian BBQ area. Not as large as S&S Buffet but they had everything I wanted plus a few extras I haven't seen on a buffet like "habachi chicken". Hershey's ice cream for dessert plus all the standard buffet desserts. The restaurant itself is newer. Clean. Nice bathrooms. Large parking lot. The staff was not as attentive as other places. They weren't bad but stood around in groups chatting instead of checking tables for refills and bussing plates frequently. Will definitely add this to the round of Erie dining stops. read more

This place is one of the best chinese restaurants I've ever been to. The food is ALWAYS fresh and they refill items quickly. Each dish is always cooked right and they have a few items that you won't find at other Chinese establishments. The place itself is clean and has a nice atmosphere. My one complaint is that some of the staff aren't very friendly, mainly the young women. There is one particular older woman who usually manages the buffet area who is very rude and unpleasant. Even when you're friendly at her she just has this scowl. And the younger women are constantly texting or doing something with their phones, even the girl at the register when you're paying. So that is a big downfall. Imperial Palace offers tasty, fresh food at a great price. I usually get take out, which they charge you a flat price of $10, which I think is better than paying by the weight, but that could be a disadvantage for some. If you do go here, you have to try their coconut shrimp. It's delicious. But stay away from their "orange chicken" I found that to be so hard to chew I couldn't even eat it.
