Originally I wasn't a huge fan but it's been years and I've actually been back twice just this year. The food is delicious especially the hibachi station (I prefer the garlic sauce on my stuff, ps. It doesn't taste like garlic though). The servers are always around and helpful. My only issue is if you get seated in the first section just to the right when you walk in, it is so dark in there and just not what I want when I'm eating. Had a chance to try out this other Chinese buffet in Erie. Overall experience was okay. Food was hot, though I wish there were more seafood selection, for my own preference. There is a variety of option for salad bar and dessert. They also offer sushi bar and hibachi where you can pick your own meat, carbs and veggie (I did not try this time) I tried their garlic bread, it was hard rock so I assume it must have been left out in the warmer for a while There are 3 kinds of soups offered: egg drop, hot and sour, and wonton soup I went on Monday night and I was seated right away, service was quick. Really liked that there was a solid amount of seafood available. Anytime a buffet has crawfish I get excited. Most of the items seemed fresh but I did knock a star down for a lot of pans being nearly empty/old looking. The items that were filled and fresh were very good though. The Sushi bar was solid as well. The cost seemed a bit much but for solid food i'm okay with paying. We were here for a bowling tournament and probably won't be back anytime soon but I would go here again if we were. read more

There were so many choices and everything was delicious it was clean and the people serving were very kind. I took my EX WIFE on a valemtimes day date here 30 years ago. I ordered the Butter Speckled Toast (personal favorite) for us to split. The waitress pointed me to the buffet which was CRAWLING with live crabs!!! On their legs they walked!! It was truly educational, but I would have preferred shrimps... I think that this is one of the best Asian buffets that I have ever been to they have a very large selection of different foods and they also have dessert everything is fresh it is just, it's just wonderful they have four different Islands with everything from soup to dessert and also they have someone there if you want something cooked and they will cook it for you and you just put all the ingredients that you want on your plate they have sushi they have fried chicken steak ham shrimp crabmeat salad a regular garden salad with all the toppings, fresh fruit the restaurant is very clean and the wait staff is very nice very accommodating and always coming by to check on you to see if you need anything also the bathrooms are clean there was no wait to get into the restaurant and also the price is good I highly recommend that if you take a trip to Erie PA that you stop at this restaurant and I guarantee that you will be wanting to go back again and again, I was too busy stuffing my face to get any more pictures and also the reception was not great read more

We were in town to visit the zoo and thought this would be the best place to eat with a 2-year old. Sadly, we were wrong. The food was not good, the baby wouldn't eat after her first bite and the rest of us were very ill within an hour of eating. We'll never stop here again. read more

Today I have declared this restaurant's food that was great, has unfortunately gone to subpar. Don't drink the hot tea, it tastes like chemicals and the chicken has a funky taste to it. I don't know where to start with this, maybe the fact the buffet is $12.99 and the drinks are $5.79 EACH for fountain sodas (about half the price of the buffet itself). The buffet was alright, it wasn't as bad as other buffets I have been to but they could be a little more on the ball with not letting stuff sit out all day. I got the receipt for it with me and one other person and it was $35 (coulda been around $27 if they didn't go crazy on the drink prices) then went to the lady to ask why the prices were so much higher than what I saw online for their menu and she proceeded to get loud and berate me in front of that whole restaurant about how those prices were from times during covid and this and that. My family's favorite Chinese buffet. They have a great selection and their Hibachi grill is outstanding. The prices are a little steep on the weekends so we try to go during the week and at lunch time when possible. We frequent Asian-American buffets in our area, but while traveling we stumbled on S@S Buffet at dinner time on a Sunday and it was perhaps the best surprise of the weekend! Great variety, extremely fresh-made selections and wonderful service, too. The steak wasn't over cooked or tough, the sushi was fresh, and fruit was perfectly ripe as well. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the country - located near planet fitness and the Cinemark movie theaters. Everything is always fresh - something you don't usually find in buffets but more importantly - the food is fantastic. Great sushi, steak every night. Saturday nights add an additional row of foods which to me is worth it because they have this great tasting biscuit stuffed with crab meat. Plus, they have the best fried chicken and pizza. I see what people mean by when they say the waitress brings the check out when your halfway through eating. I have been to this buffet many times during many years and have slowly seen it deteriorate. A few years ago I would have given it a 5 star +, but it started going downhill even before COVID. It use to offer crab legs during their weekend higher priced dinners. I did not mind paying the extra price, but that option is no longer available. More recently, we went for a Sunday dinner which has gone up and is now almost $15.00 plus about $2.50 for drinks. They had now taken away their salad bar, did not have the pot roast, spare ribs, seaweed salad, very limited sushi, and had closed a full serving row of buffet choices. The food they did have showed a lowering of quality and taste. They have tried to add lower cost American alternatives like pizza, ham and bread products. It has certainly lost its appeal and I would no longer consider on my must go to list especially for the high price. read more

I was in the mood for some MSG so I stopped in here. I was in luck. When I pulled into the parking lot there was a MSG tanker truck parked out front and they were using a huge hose to pump it into the kitchen! This was going to be good. Now you can decide if I'm joking or not. The atmosphere here is very nice. It's probably the BEST LOOKING Chinese Buffet I have ever visited. The décor here is exceptional. In addition to looking good, everything was spotless and that's always a good thing. The service was just fine. My plates were whisked away and my drink was refilled as needed. As usual in these places you can expect a language barrier with the wait staff. I got the feeling that if I told my waitress there was a bomb in the building, she would smile and hand me another napkin! So what about the food? It was going to cost me about $10. This place has the BIG THREE- Chinese, sushi and a Mongolian grill. The variety was great and the temperature of most of the dishes was just fine. The quality was the usual for a buffet and occasionally great. My chicken with broccoli was excellent. I was in Erie on business and the location was convenient so I even made a second visit. I went here with my fiancee before a movie a few days ago to get our fill of food so that we didn't waste our money on popcorn and soda (can you tell I'm not an Erie native yet?) at the theater. Well that didn't work to our plan.... even though we left quite stuffed, we still filled up on popcorn and soda (I still get strange looks when I say this word in restaurants....."pop" is what I call my father, and I drink soda.... get over it). Anyway, onto the actual review.....The place looked excellent and so we gave it a try. I'm glad we did... we were greeted and seated quickly. I quickly took a look around the entire buffet and went in head-first, almost. I piled up a huge plate of everything imaginable... i was disappointed that the sweet potatoes had absolutely no taste to them (not even a hint of cinnamon... a shame), and also i was disappointed that the lo mein has mushrooms in it (i do not eat them). The buffet's saving grace is that the sweet and sour chicken was nice and crunchy on the outside while not overcooked on the inside, it was perfect, and the honey chicken was perhaps the best i've had anywhere. That's saying a lot as I get it everywhere I can. The Sunday buffet price was a bit expensive ($15 per person) given I didn't have any seafood and we were so rushed that I didn't get to try the mongolian grill, but I will be back and will try that the next time.... and I look forward to when I get to come here again. It isn't perfect but it is quite good. Some of the other buffets in Erie may do some other dishes better, but overall, I would be perfectly happy if this ended up being the only buffet I ever went to again around here... read more

Good not great. Trying to appeal to a wide audience and missing those who enjoy spicy Asian dishes like Gen Tso Chicken that is bland and sweet but no kick that everyone expects. My wife and I occasionally eat at S & S Buffet on upper Peach St, Erie, Pa. We dined there yesterday and had an unpleasant experience. The usual foods I like were no longer there. No sausage, no garlic bread. The macaroni and cheese, and the corn were subpar. I asked the manager for some horseradish to spice up what they put out as cocktail sauce( in reality it was a diluted catsup ) She indicated they couldn't do anything about it, to which I answered "Surely, you can buy another brand of cocktail sauce" The manager gave me a dumbfounded look, and was speechless. The essence of this story is, that if you don't bring things to attention, they'll NEVER get changed. Poor quality will kill this place in the long run................FIX IT !!! read more

My family and I decided to go the S&S super buffet. I brought my intellectually impaired son and transgender daughter. They were nice to my son but my daughter on the other hand was told to hide her buldge. The waiter made multiple comments about her massive buldge.
