My extended family & I stopped in for dinner tonight and it was great! I'd been before with my Aunt who lives locally, but this time we brought more family & it was just as good! They have an awesome buffet; more options than you can try in one (or two!) visits. My favorites are the potstickers, sweet & sour, & the lomein (soft noodles). My cousin brought his two year old and she was so excited to eat with chopsticks, and they even had jello for her, which I thought was really sweet. I love China Jade, it might be because for the first like 12 years of my life this was the only Chinese place I ever went to but by now all other Chinese restaurants taste off to me. They always have delicious food out on the buffet and in all the times I've gone I don't remember ever getting cold food from the buffet. They are always pretty nice if a little to the point when you go to order but i wouldn't have it any other way. I've only ever ordered over the phone once during Covid but they made the orders exactly as they were ordered and it only took like 20 - 30 minutes for 4 people. If you're in North East and need a quick bite to eat I really recommend them. I personally recommend the Wontons, Chicken on a Stick and their powdered donuts! read more

I tried the buffet here last year and it was horrible! Bland hot and sour soup and mostly deep fried foods that had been left out under those heat lamps for too long. After reading all the good reviews, my fiance convinced me give it another chance, this time ordering from the menu. Surprisingly, this time the food was good! We ordered sweet and sour chicken (balls) (from the lunch specials menu), shrimp lo mein, and roast pork with veggies and rice. The chicken came out in five minutes, and the inside was nice and fluffy, not dry. The shrimp lo mein was delicious. Vegetables were crisp and they didn't skimp out on shrimp. The pork and veggies was good as well, but they gave us bbq pork, instead of roast pork. We had to take home the pork dish because we couldn't finish it. Overall a good experience. Three dishes and two drinks (free refills) for $17. 3 Stars because the buffet brings it down. read more

Listen people, I don't understand why anybody would give this place less than 5 stars! I have lived in big cities that have Chinese food restaurants on every other block, and this place is better than all of them! Their vegetables are always fresh, their meats: chicken beef or seafood are always plentiful and good cuts. The egg rolls are not greasy and their spices and sauces are always on point. They are constantly re-filling their buffet even right up to closing, but do yourself a favor and order one of their specialties made to order, you will never go wrong, buffet is always going to be second best to compared to something you order and it takes no time at all ... As a buffet, China Jade is two stars; as a dining experience, three, but the price makes up for that--two people for the dinner buffet totaled less than $18, including a soft drink machine. My dad and I visited North East for the First Fridays event around dinnertime. I was in the mood for Chinese (Americanized okay), so we stopped in here. Unlike most buffets, you pay at the counter first. There is no table service--you throw out your own trash and put your own silverware into the bins. The dishes and cups are disposable. The restaurant atmosphere is pretty typical of a Chinese buffet. The buffet is decently sized, but not large enough for a very wide selection. They had the typical dishes--honey chicken, General Tso's, fried dumplings, soups, broccoli and chicken, pepper steak and onions, rice, lo mein, some kind of cream cheese sushi, etc. Some more unique dishes for a buffet included fried (canned) pineapple and cheese wontons. The main dishes were all decent; however, because we arrived a little earlier than the dinner crowd, they had been sitting out for a little too long. This was a little more noticeable for dishes such as the dumplings or chicken on a skewer. Also, in general, any foods with doughy coverings (fried meats, fried pineapple, dumplings, wontons) were too heavily coated. The fresh fruit selection was limited to cantaloupe, though there was some canned fruit as well. Desserts included cakes, cream puffs, and ice cream, none of which were particularly good. Overall, this is an okay, cheap place if you need a quick Chinese fix, but it's definitely not the best I've had. read more

I called ahead for a to go order which included vegetable chop suey, sesame chicken & an order of spring rolls. Since this was my 1st visit I wasn't aware of the buffet they also offer in house. I asked to add a few things to my order they said no problem. The extra tray was weighed, paid for and handed to me. The smell of the warm food in the car was so tempting i wanted to reach in the bag & grab a spring roll. ALL was delicious! We were in North East buying wine and, noting all the 5 star ratings, decided to try the Jade. Guess I was taken in by the fake reviews. I notice, on closer inspection, that two of the reviews even use the very same photo. And, the china plate in the photo looks nothing like the Styrofoam plates served there! That said, the buffet was cheap and fairly typical. Worst hot and sour soup I've ever had. It was neither hot nor sour, just a thick gelatinous substance. Also, some of the food, like the egg rolls, had an off taste, like they had been stored uncovered in a refrigerator too long. The cheese and crab stuffed fried won ton was really good, maybe the best I've had. I can think of two reasons to eat here. 1) You are in North East, craving Chinese, and don't want to drive into Erie. 2) You are short of money and want to eat all you can for $6. read more
