I visited Imperial Physical Therapy. When I walked in, there were multiple staff members present, and there was no one at the reception area. I took a seat, assuming someone would call me when a therapist was ready. While I waited, I noticed several male staff standing around in a circle, with their arms folded across their chest. They were chewing gum and "shooting the breeze" with one another. They were laughing and enjoying themselves. One male staffer had his sunglasses on top of his head and another male staffer wore his sunglasses backwards as a signature style, hinging them on his ears. This observance gave "used car dealer" vibes. Patient priority appeared lacking. The office itself is small and basic, with standard therapy beds and equipment. The parking situation is narrow and minimal. On the flip side, the therapist named Norik called my name. He was a confident, reserved man. He delivered treatment with both care and compassion. He assessed my injury and asked probing questions. Then he went straight to work. The strength in his hands felt soothing. He helped bring relief and healing to my injury. He had a gentle calm demeanor. He was focused and kind. Thank you kindly mister Norik! ************************************************ Visité Imperial Physical Therapy. Visited before COVID-19 I injured my arm and I got authorization from my insurance to go to PT (physical therapy). My authorization was initially to go for therapy in DTLA where I previously went (LOVED that place), but due to time restrictions and distance, I chose to go somewhere closer to my job. Bad decision. At first I liked coming here because my appointments were always on time, free parking, small but clean/boring waiting room, the few rooms that they have were kind of small but looked clean, and the staff was nice, but as my sessions progressed, I noticed differences in comparison to the other place I went to which I found to be quite lacking. During my 12 visits, I was seen only three times by what appeared to be the only DPT (main therapist in charge). At the other place, I was seen EACH TIME I had an appointment ( there were more DPTs) after I worked with the PT aide. It's VERY important to be seen by the DPT because the DPT is the one who can adjust your therapy exercises as needed in order to fit your needs to accomplish your physical goals. Don't get me wrong, the student followed the directions given to her by the DPT, but I felt that some of the exercises that she made me do weren't helping me progress in order to increase my ROM (range of motion). The PT aide who saw me twice made adjustments to my therapy and I thought she was good. Would I go back? Preferably not. Better to choose quality of care. They accept Regal, Health Care Partners, and other medical groups. read more

11/20/2024 Dale, my therapist doesn't like to be asked questions became defensive & asked me " how long have I been a physical therapist"? discussion escalated a bit from there because he had a different recall of what we did first session from me. I was there 20 min, . first visit was 45. I don't feel my time was well spent or did I learn anything more or new from what previous physical therapists, Dr's., sport medicine therapists had taught me. read more

This place is a modernized, brightly-lit medieval torture dungeon, but in a good way. Due to a hit & run, I had to undergo surgery, and have an artificial wrist to replace my natural one, that had been shattered beyond repair. After the cast had come off, and stitches had healed up, twice-weekly physical therapy was needed, in order to restore the flexibility and usage. My treatment entailed the following: First, they had me using a rotating machine that moved in a circular motion, forcing my wrist to painfully bend up, then down for fifteen or so minutes. Then, it was a hot paraffin wax treatment, in which my entire hand and wrist was submerged over and over into the liquefied petro-chemical. Once the wax was removed, I received a very firm and deep muscle massage. That felt like razor blades were being pushed into the center of my forearm. But you know what? I'm glad for it all. Today, I have near 100% of the motion and flexibility that I had before my accident, and there's little to no pain at all. For that I'm grateful. On the surface, it may seem like they're medically licensed sadists, but they do care, and do know what they're doing. The temporary pain you experience here, means that you won't be experiencing it or other problems in your further journey of life. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I had my appointment at their new location. It is visually more attractive than the prior location, and smaller with fewer rooms for the patients. I was disappointed that Norik is no longer working there. He was always the go-to guy who helped with questions about the equipment and added a feeling of hope. read more

I had very good experience with the staff. Everyone is very friendly in this office. I went with a lot of pain and ended without it. Lorenz was my physical therapist. I was surprised with his skilled work. He has, like I said,Midas touch. Anytime he worked with me; I became pain free. Besides he is a very professional and explained everything nicely. On first visit they only hooked me up with electrical stimulator for 20 minutes and then gave me one printed page of exercises to do at home. On second visit I refused to being hooked up to stimulator. The young guy working there gave me the same exercises I already found online without correcting my moves. I didn't feel any back pain relieve after those two visits. I was thinking PT is waste of money but decided to try another PT office. The first visit in another office changed my mind. They explain and corrected my moves. I could feel pain reduction after the massage the second PT office gives me. read more

After getting diagnosed with tendinitis my doctor suggested physical therapy to reduce pain and build back the strength in my right elbow. For years I have had tendinitis issues in both elbows due to boxing and golf. I finally decided to try physical therapy. The doctor and massage therapist I worked with at IPT were excellent. Both were patient, thorough and clear in how we would go about relieving pain while strengthening the tendons. I had six sessions with them and with each appointment my strength improved and pain subsided. I still have written exercise sheets to fall back on if the pain reoccurs. Very happy that I choose to do PT and this center worked well. Also, close to my work so convenient also. read more

This place is pretty decent. I think I'm getting good care and the staff are really nice. But the place itself, the way it looks, the decor, is the most depressing place I've ever been in. And that makes a difference when you're just sitting around getting iced and looking at the walls. The light is terrible, the bad art, the bad muzak, its just plain terrible. Perhaps other people don't care about stuff like this, but it means a lot to me. The aesthetics of a place means the comfort of a place and it just doesn't feel comfortable. I don't think it would be too expensive to get some new art on the walls, change the terrible fluorescent tubes for a more pleasing light fixture and make it feel inspiring instead of feeling like i want to die very minute i'm in there. read more

If you can't any thing nice don't say anything at all. But with this place I will, dirty, loud piped in Muzak, some guy passing himself off as a RPT his name Bob. In take eval lasted all of 5 minutes, he had no idea what type of surgery I had had didn't seem to care had me do a couple of balance exercises said you have a balance problem.. No treatment discussion. Said you get a hot pack a nice old moldy one. Went back had me do some exercises beyond my limitations did not follow the Spinal specialists prescription still no treatment plan in place. No licensees posted, or any information as to how to contact the State. Interesting. This information is on line and a complaint has been filed . Bottom line, called Ortho, contacted PCP complained and was referred to a reputable physical therapy facility. read more

I found Imperial Physical Therapy through a combination of insurance and Yelp reviews. I called several places closer to home but was unable to secure an appointment in a reasonable amount of time that both took my insurance and had availability. I have been very impressed by the staff, both front office and the therapist. I have worked mostly with Johnny and Anu and now a third therapist - and they are very polite, professional and are taking good care of me. I have a lot of past experience with physical therapy and this is as good as it gets from a professional perspective. The only ding is cosmetic. The place needs to be upgraded a little -- even just painting would help. That said, don't let steer you away. The therapists were professional and their scheduling was flexible. The facilities are small and the equipment is in bad shape. The new staff is inexperienced compared to a year ago. They lack respect for the patients. The time they contract for is frequently cut short and they sometimes charge for appointments that you did not receive as well as mis bill when you already pay. Is is a disorganized mess. They are Ana Reed, and Olga Castillo. I had orthoscopic knee surgery, and the healing was going slowly. That's until Ana and Olga came into the scene. They are magical with their healing hands and professionalism. They are kind and extremely knowledgeable of their craft. Another physical therapist there who is very caring is Arthur, but was not treated by him as I was with Ana and Olga.
