Later I come to find out that the head gasket was blown and the head needed to be machined, along with a long list of things that needed done and things that are about to go. In the first two months of owning the car i had to put $1,600 dollars into it to make it drivable and it still needs another $300.00 worth of work done to it. Today I took my reciept for the work I had gotten done on the car and told him I felt like he sold me a lemon and he offered to buy the car back for what I had paid for it . He also told me that no one had looked over the car prior to me purchasing the car from him, all they do is vacumme the car out and sell it. but then what? Im out the $1,600 I put into it and he gets a good running car? Nope Im sorry I am a Customer, Not a mechanic. I asked him if he knew what Yelp was and he didnt answer me. "Caveat Emptor" Went to Fix-It with Fred for a needed oil change and the air conditioner was…read moreblowing warm air. Dropped the car off told them the problems and mentioned, when braking, the car pulled a little to the left. Later they called with a diagnostic fee which seemed a little high but wanted it fixed. Someone called back the next day told me they had changed the oil and recharged the air conditioning and found leaks at both Schrader valves which they replaced (part of the diagnostic fee I imagine) and I needed $2000 worth of brake work, (front pads and rotors, rear shoes and drums, front calipers, BG brake system service). My response was, "that is a third of what the car was worth, put it back together and the car will be picked up. A total of $2875.81 of work and parts were declined by me. " Just to be on the safe side, two weeks later the same vehicle was taken to another auto repair shop to have the brakes checked, their receipt says "Inspect brakes, approximately 50% -OK". The brakes are working fine. There is probably a large gap as to what is needed for vehicle repairs and what the manufacturers suggests and how much money you have.

I have taken my cars to Fred for over 20 years. I drove my 2006 Elantra to 304,000 miles, mainly because Fred maintained it for most of its life. My 2023 Elantra has 50k on it and was recently serviced by Fred. I had a fuel induction/injector cleaning service (I think that is what it is called lol) and the car is running as good as the day it was brand new. I highly recommend Fred and his crew. They are amazing and their prices are fantastic.
