I have a massive GL1800 that takes up too much room in any shop and it was down-time where special parts were needed.. so called around first. After reviewing several shops, including the arrogant dicks at Honda.. I spoke with Gary. I explained my situation where Honda didn't recommend replacing some parts, and I wanted to do that regardless.. Gary was not only accommodating, he agreed this was a good idea. Extremely kind conversation, very welcoming.. then he recommended he gets the parts up front without ever seeing me in person.. wow.. I'm sold for life on the above points alone. So it's my turn.. trailered the big bike and headed over.. Gary comes out from his busy shop and lends a hand unloading the beast.. wow again.. and thanks man! During his service he called me a few times recommending R&R on a few things he found along the way.. now that's what I call a pro.. no BS.. just concerned for my safety. Gary finished the job quickly and did a great job tidying up.. prices are fair to both him and me.... I'll be taking my bike business here forever. Oh.. and check this out.. I also had both tires replaced.. so about two weeks passed and I get a call from a familiar number.. it's Gary reminding me of a rebate I should be taking advantage of.. dang.. Not only did he replace my front tire on my f4i lightning fast but I took my sv 650 in after an unexpected oil leak thru the clutch rod and he was able to identify the issue, get the parts needed on order and make the repairs. He also tested it to make sure there were no leaks and noticed the clutch friction plates were worn and was able to go right in and take care of that for me too all for reasonable price and excellent timely manner. My old 1989 Honda Shadow was running rough, and my electrical system was failing. I tried other mechanics in the Santa Clarita Valley, but I was always dissatisfied with the outcome. I read Yelp reviews and came across Gary's shop (Import Motorcycle Specialist), which had nothing but outstanding reviews. I gave him a try, and hit the jackpot! Although he had about 10-15 other bikes in his shop, he didn't make me schedule an appointment or ask me to come back another day. He took my bike in that very day, and diagnosed several problems that needed addressing. He switched out my stater and adjusted/synchronized my carburators, and gave it a tune up. He also put on a new back tire. Folks, this is the first time I've ever left a review on Yelp. In fact, I created a Yelp account just so I could leave this review!! My bike has NEVER run this good before (and I have owned it since it was new, 26 years). Not only was Gary able to perform magic on my bike, but he also charged me substantially less money than what I was used to paying at my previous mechanic shops. I commented to him how I was impressed with how affordable his work was, and he just humbly replied that he can keep his overhead cost low since he is the only mechanic, and doesn't have to pay other employees to just sit around while waiting for customers to come in. Gary is such an easygoing nice guy, and so extremely honest and knowledgeable, I will never take my bike anywhere else from now on. I found this business because it was listed as an installer on motorcycle superstores web site. I needed a rear tire and a safety check for a used bike I just purchased. Gary, (the owner) was very helpful. He suggested a different tire that was half the price as the original one and I have had no problems with it . All the reviews for this tire were great. I trust Gary and will do business with him exclusively in the future. I left my bike with him and 24hrs later picked it up running great. If you want to purchase online to get a better price on parts, then I would definately recommend this shop since you can have the parts direct shipped to his shop and all you pay is installation (which is very reasonable). Gary knew that I had just got back into riding after 25 years and when I asked him if the bike needed anything else done to it he could have tried to sell me other unnecessary parts or services but didn't!
