Audi are "special" to my dismay and my income level definitely does not meet the level of being able to afford one comfortably. after having done lots of research I found jamison auto group. they were able to fix both my front wheel hubs in a reasonable amount of time and they partner with a financing company, which allowed me to be able to address this issue with my car immediately before it got worse. what I like about them the most is that they didn't try to swindle me into extra services, or try to talk me out of things that I specifically wanted. they actually did what I needed them to do and actually listened to what I wanted.

TLDR: Misfire in cylinder 6 diagnosed. Estimate approved for $540 repair. Repair completed for 2X…read morethe estimate at $1079. Misfire still exists. Owner took my money and told me he didn't have time to do more. Run away from this mechanic. A costly lesson from a business owner that does not take ownership. I brought my 2020 BMW M850 to Jamison Motors after having a drivetrain fault error code. Met Jamie, the owner, and provided some context for the issue and left it to him to diagnose. I received a message later the same day telling me that cylinder 6 was misfiring and that the suggested repair was to replace all 8 coils and plugs at a cost of $2000. That's more than I could afford so I suggested that coils and plugs for cylinders 5 and 6 be replaced. I received a new estimate for about $540 for that repair and approved the work. This was on Thursday, but Jamie said he would be working through the weekend and might have it done Saturday. I called on Saturday for an update and Jamie said that he had ordered the parts from BMW and that they would be there Tuesday. All good. On Tuesday afternoon I reached out for an update and immediately got a message saying work was complete along with an invoice for $1079. I asked why the cost had doubled and got the response that it was way more work than expected and that's why they issue estimates and not quotes. He also mentioned that the system they use to create estimates was incorrect and underestimated the work. I get it. Things happen, but why didn't you call me when you realized that? I'm pretty reasonable. If you communicated without assuming I would have had the option to accept or move on. I headed to the shop to pick up the car. When I arrived I was told that my car was still seeing a misfire on number 6 despite the $1100 of work done. So at this point the diagnosis was wrong, the suggested repair was completed at twice the cost estimated and my car was in the same state of disrepair as when I dropped it off. Jamie said that he didn't have the time to dig in deeper and figure out what was wrong. Painfully expensive lesson learned: do not do business with Jamison Motors. Two quotes from Jamie that stood with me as I left with a still broken car and $1079 fewer dollars in my account: when asked why he didn't reach out when he realized that the work would be more than the estimate: "that's not my job". Not something that ANY business owner should ever utter. Finally, as I'm walking out dejected: "I fix problems". Not in this case you don't. I will take my business elsewhere and will tell this story to anyone in my network with a European vehicle.

I had a whine coming from the rear end that got worse under acceleration, but lessened when you took your foot off the accelerator. Being new to Mississippi, I asked around to find the best mechanic, and two other local shops recommended Ronnie's Automotive in Gulfport after they diagnosed the car and either weren't able to do the work or fit me in their schedule soon. I stopped in Ronnie's and met Kristen, the office manager, and after telling her about the issue with the car, she went and brought the mechanic up that specializes in drivelines and transmissions, Jody, to talk with me personally. I explained the problem and Jody gave me the same diagnosis as the other shops and said he would be able to fit me in quickly. I dropped the car off and Jody did the work within a week since parts had to be ordered, and was very friendly and knowledgeable when explaining what he found upon doing the work. He replaced the differential bearing set and rear axle bearings and once I picked up the car it drove and sounded great, just like new. Kristen, Ronnie, Jody, and the staff I spoke to were all friendly and professional every time I called or stopped in, and I will be using Ronnie's Automotive again if needed and I would highly recommend them. Kristen and Jody cared for my car like it was theirs, so if you have a classic or collector car I would not hesitate to use them.
