I wouldn't trust this place for much more than an oil change. I'm not sure whether incompetence or maliciousness but I was taken advantage of. I had both rear springs go out. Joe's fixed them but failed to mention that the upper control arms and links were broken, allowing the whole rear end to move around. The drive shaft was damaged at the U-joint, and the differential pinion seal was busted so the rear differential was leaking. They said nothing and charged four-digits for the repair of the springs. I paid thinking this would resolve my issues; instead, I drove off their lot with a heavy and persistent vibration throughout the vehicle. The dealership I took the vehicle to next couldn't believe nothing was said about all of the other damage that was plainly visible. I do not recommend service here beyond rudimentary maintenance such as an oil change or tire rotation. To do it all over again I would have called a tow-truck. read more

I was having power steering and overheating issues. Joe got me in as soon as I got there. He took excellent care of my car and got me back on the road. If I could give a "0" rating, I would. This place is a complete rip off and the owner, Joe, is a complete moron. When I first brought my car in for a diagnostic, the lady in the front, Joanne, whom I later found was his wife ask me what was the problem and I told her I had a "crank no start problem". She instantly told me that it was mechanical. She said it like she knew what the hell she was talking about. I chuckled but ignore her comment. A few days later they called me to tell me there is a connectivity problem and it would cost $5-6K for them to test and diagnose all the computer modules. I ask them if they check anything else, the battery, fuel pump, was fuel getting into the engine. Anything that would help me. Apparently, all they did was hooked up the OBD which didn't give them a signal and stopped there. So, I paid them $150 for something I already knew or in other words nothing. When I showed up to pick the car up and pay, all he could say was there was no connectivity. He couldn't tell me anything else because he didn't do anything else. Bottom line, I would not recommend this crappy shop to save my life. Before taking my car to this shop, I had read similar comments about this shop but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They prove me wrong and I paid for that mistake. read more

Drove out from San Antonio, Texas, to attend Cruising The Coast. As it would happen we had a brake problem and had our '57 Nomad towed to the nearest shop...won't name them but we ended up getting to Joe's after a few recommendations - he took care of our problem and we were able to enjoy the remainder of our stay and cruise. Just had my Honda Accord repaired at Joe's Garage. I have used Joe's twice before for work on my Dodge truck. I think he did an outstanding job on both of those repairs. HOWEVER, this time will probably be the last time I use this business. I knew what was wrong with my car before I had it towed to the shop. Alternator smoked and battery was very low. I wanted to make sure I got parts that would last for the long haul so I checked in with NAPA. Every garage I have ever worked with in the past used NAPA parts. I found an 84 month battery for $139 at NAPA and a new alternator that is an exact match to the factory one and comes with a lifetime guaranty for $149. I printed out the pages and took them to Joe's. The lady at the counter then informed me that they do not use NAPA parts. When I asked who they did use I never got an answer. I asked what they charge for a battery for my car just in case it turns out that it needs one. "$250+". Well, the car was there and I already paid the tow truck driver, so I said go ahead. When I picked up the car, I was told it didn't need a battery after all. But my bill was $586. The labor was only $99 but the alternator was over $400. I looked under the hood and "NO" it is not Gold plated. I guess for those that never research what parts cost, Joe's seems like a good place to do business. Recently moved to Biloxi and in the process had some car troubles that hadn't been properly fixed by a previous mechanic in TX. Called Joe's Garage on Monday morning and was told to bring it in. Explained my situation when I got there, and it took the mechanic less than 20 mins to determine what was wrong and the best course of action to fix it. Had a great experience here. My Infiniti QX4 was swaying back and forth at high speeds and I went to several mechanics who weren't sure what the issue was. Joe knew exactly what the problem was almost instantaneously, and gave me a reasonable quote. The total cost was pricey, but mostly because he had to order the parts directly from Infiniti. Joe was prompt with calling me and even picked me up and dropped me off at work while he fixed my car. The car drives perfectly now. First off, I'm not from the area and was absolutely dreading bringing my Jeep to a mechanic in an unfamiliar area. Had an issue with my Jeep Wrangler and brought it to Joe's. Joe jumped in the Jeep and came along for a ride so I could explain what was happening. Right off the bat, he thought he knew what was wrong. I left it with him for a couple of hours and he ran some tests to make sure and he was right. A bad torque converter shutter. Told me about a specialist a little down the road, didn't charge me a dime, and sent me on my way. Trustworthiness goes a long way when talking about mechanics, as far as I'm concerned. read more
