I was confused. I saw the sign, hesitated then climbed some stairs and came to a landing. Then I climbed more stairs and peered through the doorway. For some reason I felt slightly nervous, out of place. Because of the the nature of climbing up so high, I felt kind of trapped, like if I entered, I was there to stay. The place appears to be a converted apartment and is fairly teensy. The offerings were of the silk, embroidered variety with a large price tags. The clothing looked expertly made but was definitely for a designed for target market (artsy professors?). There were tote bags and scarves, hats and coats, and the space was pretty cute although a little closed in. I saw a sign that said no returns/refunds so you best be certain about your green silk highly adorned button down before you take the plunge. This place is sweet, but I think the sign on the street, suggesting it as a mini-department store, is a bit misleading. It's more of an attire store for women with specifically eccentric tastes. In a Box may be the place for you, and if so, great. It wasn't for me and probably doesn't offer any goods that people I know would want to purchase. It's a neat idea though, and I wish this little 'pie in the sky, climb so high' shop much success.

Dang budgets. When you first enter the store you'll find yourself faced with tables and tables of adorable nick nacks and homewares to browse though - so many cute mugs and beautiful candles! One day I dream that my home will be filled with them. They've also got journals, books, even a kids gift section. Further back you'll find clothing - men's is on the upper level and women's on the lower. They've also got a killer jewellery section (which is where I've found myself most often drooling over the rings and earrings). I never look closely at the clothing because I don't want to tempt myself (out of my price range), but just glancing at the racks I and tell there are a lot of cute things that I hear are really great quality. From the little bit of browsing I've done the sizes are all pretty small...whomp whomp. In the men's section you'll find wallets, shave kits and some really fun socks in addition to the standard clothing fare. Don't miss out on the back section behind the men's clothing where the sale stuff is! They've always got a good selection of sale things. I really love the idea of shopping at Biscuit General, but unless it's some of the smaller items I just don't have the budget for it. It can get very pricey very quickly. That being said if you have more room in your budget definitely give Biscuit General a shot - it's definitely a local gem!

The saleslady assisting us was very nice and patient. Adam must've tried on at least 2-3 different shirts and more than 5 ties. She was also nice enough to steam the shirt before wrapping it up. They have this cool policy in the store where you can try to put a hole in one mini golf style for $95 off a tie for $2 (and the money goes to charity!). Sadly, both Adam and I missed. But I enjoyed playing a lot! Mini put inside a store! I was surprised no one snubbed us as we did look very ordinary. I think once Adam specifically asked to try on a shirt, they loosened up and realized we were going to buy something. That's when they got friendlier and offered us drinks. But I really only liked the lady who helped us, the rest seemed unbothered and lazy.

Great fits for all shapes-- because yes, men come in odd sizes as well-- the staff here are professionals and do not take retail lightly. Going into Duggers and doing serious shopping calls for full-on service in a kind and cordial manor. As I accompanied a male friend in recent months on a mission for a new jacket, I observed the service as very thorough and helpful. It wasn't about a simple assistance to the change room; these people are all about getting the right fix, giving brand detailing and all the extras. Those looking to get properly outfitted and not knowing where to start can rely on Dugger's. As well, its a fine place to browse. No pressure... I like this spot, as they've got some pretty spruced up threads. Pricey but spicy, this is a place to check if you are looking to be fine and fancy.

It's functional but it's not exactly a shopper's dream. Got a headache? There's a Lawton Drugs. Need to buy a co-worker a birthday card on your lunch break because you forgot it was their birthday? There's a Carlton Cards? Don't want to pay $4 for a card for this co-worker? There's a Dollarama! Spilled some coffee on your white skirt? There's a Reitman's so you can buy a new skirt then drop off your dirty skirt at the dry cleaners. You get the idea. In my opinion, there are no cool shops here or any fashionable stores, just functional get the job done kind of places. The food court has a nice mix of chain and independent places.

I love having the option to buy somewhere that's more local even in a mall. I'm not going to lie though, I mostly come here because my doctor's office is here and it's got one of the best stocked Lawton's for makeup in the city.

Learning the ways of retail, his cuteness is the perfect way to begin this endeavor. What a sweet little shop. Although its been open for about ten years, I'd only recently learned of Wildflower from an acquaintance. Its confines are currently dressed in soft, breathable garments and assuring color palates. (Periwinkle, charcoal, rose pink, nude, and flecks of colour amongst it all!) Its actually a breath of fresh air, and a different variety from other independent boutiques in the area. I was elated to discover the accumulation of Free People frocks, which is probably my favorite [semi] affordable brand of all time. The owner mentioned that they would be getting more in soon-- whoo hoo! The overall stock seems romantic, flowing, and of excellent taste. Cute tops, rich fabrics and cuts are here for the taking. I think its safe to say that Wildflower has Bohemian Romantic down. The owner of the shop offered me genuine conversation and an easy shopping experience. I was the only patron at the time, so we chatted as I browsed. There was no pressure, no facade-- just good conversation and a shop full of wonders. After much swooning and chit-chat, I know this is a boutique I can dig. Besides the clothes, there were also some pretty neat accessories. I'd say the owner of Wildflower has a great eye. Understated, funky, classic and bohemian looks are all fused into one cohesive collection. All you need is a paycheck. xo
