I described the problem and sent a short video illustrating the flickering. Chase thought it was most probably a connection issue and quoted a minimal and very reasonable price for the repair. (Other electricians who responded to the project request provided estimates ranging from twice that of Local Electrical to TEN TIMES as much.) Chase was able to come today along with his partner R., and fixed the connection issue in just a few minutes. Chase and R. were friendly and respectful, and very professional. There were multiple times when dates were suggested for someone to come by, but no one showed up or I had to follow up myself to find out what was happening. When I did reach out, the appointment would usually be rescheduled rather than the company proactively communicating with me. I understand that contractors can get busy and schedules can change, but basic communication is important. If someone cannot make an appointment or needs to reschedule, I expect a simple call or message ahead of time. Instead, I felt like I had to keep chasing updates just to know whether anyone was coming. This was especially frustrating because I was willing to give them the opportunity based on a neighbor's recommendation. My final message was viewed, but I never received any follow-up from him or the company. At that point, the lack of response made it clear that I could not rely on them for the work. Based on my experience, I would not feel comfortable using Thunder Bay Electric or recommending them. Good communication and showing up when scheduled are basic expectations for any service provider.

Finding Intrinsic Electric, JACKPOT!!! 5 stars for David and Joel. Both of these men are committed to all the best qualities of being courteous, professional and accommodating to their customers. Joel pointed out some issues that needed addressing and instead of "winging it" he got on his phone with some colleagues (one came by in person to consult) who knew the answers and double checked with at least one county inspector for verification. Keeping me from having to deal with any later headaches or repercussions. Doing it right the first time! I did only get to see Joel in action for one day but it was a great first impression. David was able to find a stand in worker (Lauren - He gets a 5 as well) who was every bit as friendly, knowledgeable and professional. David is a polite, professional, patient, thorough, knowledgeable, expert! David listens well and makes educated recommendations. He showed as much concern for my project and my home as I do. After a brief explanation about the issue, I sensed his confidence in his ability to solve the problem, so we scheduled the diagnostic. When he arrived, Mr. Jackson got straight to work--checked my multiple breaker panels and within minutes was up in my attic drilling. This was a huge contrast to a previous electrician who seemed overwhelmed by the wiring in my attic. He described it as a complex project, said he'd return the next day with help, and never followed up. I was genuinely impressed by how quickly and efficiently Mr. Jackson resolved the problem.
