My Generac whole house generator went on the fritz during a PG&E power outage. I called the company with which I have a service contract for the generator and they never even returned my call! I called My Generator Guy in the afternoon. The woman I spoke to was apologetic that they could not service our generator that same day, but said they could do it the next day. Which they did. To their credit, the person who answers the phone is polite. They took 90 days to work on my Firman portable inverter generator and I picked it up today and it still did not function, at all. They meant well though. Oh, and they charged me $330 to return to me a nearly new unworking generator. Having taken the generator apart, they charged me an additional $26 to put it back together so that I could pick it up. Needless to say, I'm not impressed. I would never return to them. Under any circumstances. Dealing with them was them was the absolute worst repair experience I've had in my life (I'm 73 years old); lots of experience. Disregarding anyone else's experience, just base on my own, I would recommend that you dig a hole and place your money in it and cover it over before you take your generator to them. You'll save time and your money will be better spent. But, the person who answers the phone was polite and they meant well. There's that. Can you say "milking the customer"? read more

They were great. I arranged for them to pick up my Westinghouse generator. They picked it up within a couple of days. They fixed the generator quickly and returned it to me 10 days sooner than they estimated. Very nice people to deal with on the phone. I really like it when people do what they say will they do. No complaints. Best service ever. Just had a power outage and it worked perfectly. Sadly, we started with another contractor, which was a nightmare that lasted from September to December 2020. We had done business, successfully, with an electrician who said he installed generators. We learned his experience was almost non-existent. Stops, starts, one after another. After numerous tries and promises to get it running, he offered to refund our money. We went with My Generator Guy, Greg Cocotis. In late December 2020, Greg gave us a detailed proposal that identified what was wrong and what was needed to fix it and get it up and running. The work was completed by January 8, 2021. A power outage occurred in the wee hours of January 19, and the generator came on. No loss of power. Thank you, Greg!! read more

I used My Generator Guy to install a nature gas powered generator for emergency power outage. It is very critical for my house because I have a 1500 sq. ft basement that uses two sump pumps, one for outdoor and one for indoor. Greg started the job very carefully, made a couple of trips to figure out the gas outlet location and tested the pressure. The initial installation went smoothly. Then one stormy night last year, the power went out and my basement got flooded. The dirty water from the sump pump damaged furnitures and moldings. We checked everything, the pumps were ok, so the problem was the power. It turns out the crew only wired the outdoor pump and failed to identify the indoor one. Our electrician clearly marked it on the panel box, but the crew just didn't see it. So they made another trip to correct the mistake. A few weeks later, the power went out again and I went to the basement to see if the pumps are properly powered by the generator and to my surprise, they were still not. I ran a few tests later and realized that the guy only wired the indoor pump but didn't wire the pump's control unit. Greg had to make another trip to fix the problem. I am happy that we finally identified the problems and fixed them but I am also upset that Greg insisted to charge me $510 for his trip while I didn't ask him to pay for the damage the flood caused. read more

This is an authorized Generac service center, I took my camping generators in for warranty work. After 2 weeks I called for an update and was told it would be another 4-6 weeks before they could look at my units!! Lousy customer service!! read more
