As it was an involved job, running new wiring thru the attic, he had to reschedule to a better time. He arrived on time, was very cordial and friendly, and explained what he needed to do. Very unprofessional and dishonest company. I was spoken to very rudely and hung up on several times after requesting to speak with James the owner. My message was never passed along, probably to hide and cover up "Precious" who claimed to be the "office manager". Personal property of mine was taken from my home perhaps accidentally (not sure how that happens) but I was told several different things about it being handled as well as the unfinished business left by their tech Zach. How this company has 4.9 stars is beyond me but me myself I cannot recommend them. They were unwilling to do anything until I emailed them telling them I was calling police and reporting them for theft. Precious' tone quickly changed from hanging up on me acting belligerent to calling me back with a 180 degree attitude change. She offered a partial refund of $218 for pushing a button I never asked to be pushed to a full refund. Never got my personal belongings returned or a call from the store owner. They finally sent a different tech out after being told weeks earlier Zach would come out and fix my hot tub panel he left open (screws also missing). That rep told me there isn't even a Precious who works there and the office manager's name is Kathy. Not sure what is going on there but I'm still considering contacting police regarding my stolen property. read more

Bait and switch quote for electrical work done. Was charged 2 times for same work testing electrical lines two different days. Did not follow up as requested for new electrial wire. Was given new bill for over $1,800.00. Ater paying over $900.00 for electrical work lines to be checked, and one spotlight . You need to get all quotes in writing up front. read more

I called an electrician for two reasons: the lights in two rooms would go out for a time and then mysteriously start working again. Plus our A/C units stopped working, with no power getting to them. The breaker had tripped for the A/C, which had its own breaker. But when I reset that breaker, it stayed in the center position rather than the On position. I set up the appointment with In Charge and they came out a couple days later. He checked the fuse breaker box and the main breaker outside. The A/C breaker reset easily for him (once I made the appt I stopped trying to reset it - silly me). Then he checked the voltage and said it was losing voltage from the transformer to our house and we should call the electrical utility. He said they must have had an issue over the weekend to cause the a/c breaker trip. Fine, but why did it wait to happen eight years after the units were installed? Never mind. He left with over $130 for that piece of advice. Unfortunately for that diagnosis, we lost the power in the original two rooms again. Weird. I checked the breaker box which is in one of those two rooms. It looked fine. I shut the door firmly as I left, cause it closes hard, and the lights in those two rooms came back on. So it must be an issue with the wiring at the breaker box. I should call an electrician to fix it. Wait, I did that already. Correction, I should call a different electrician to fix it. *** Well, now I see a nice friendly comment from a manager/owner of the business supporting his employee's diagnosis. But if our problem was caused by fluctuations from the power company, why is that the only time it has happened in 8 years? And he glosses over the other issue, where the vibration from closing the door six inches from the breaker box caused the lights in the two rooms to come back on. Should I blame the power company for that also? If it happens again, he has already mentioned replacing breakers that won't help as a possible "fix" rather than risk doubting the original diagnosis, so my only smart option is to get a second opinion from a different company. Then again, maybe it will never happen again, in which case I would be silly to set them loose in my electrical system. read more

We called In Charge at my father in law's recommendation. We popped a circuit breaker that couldn't be reset. So, we took the opportunity to get help with a few other small electrical problems that have built up over three years. I like that the scheduler worked with me to find a time that was open in my busy schedule. I also really liked the email and text that showed me in advance who and what to expect. Having Andy's picture before he showed up was a confidence builder. Unfortunately, the other issues couldn't be resolved in one trip. The truck was not stocked with ivory outlets or a 2' led light to replace the old fluorescent. Also, a loose wire or short will need to be found under the house. It's no place for a big guy like Andy but he says they have a guy, Alex who's built like a snake. So I will wait for a call from the scheduler that they have all the parts and we'll have a second go. But I feel good about the company I have chosen to do the work. read more

Totally unimpressed with the "deer in the headlights" look from the techs that came out for a ground fault that kept intermittently tripping a 20amp breaker. Checked smoke detectors & a couple outlets, then gave up saying intermittent shorts are hard to find, that'll be $99,goodbye. I called another outfit and when they arrived I mentioned in charge electric, they rolled their eyes & said there's one problem. Within 1 hr the problem was found to be a faulty GFI, problem solved. I wouldn't call in charge electric to change the batteries in a flashlight. read more

I made an appointment with this company to simply do the required visual safety inspection for a required letter for SECO to turn on the power. Instead of making sure the electric wasn't altered and safe they tried to get me to do a ton of needless "code upgrades" I didn't want and that were not required it went from 200 to over triple plus the 200 original charge. read more

I called Incharge to have some outdoor electrical work done. They sent me an estimate but didn't state whether the work would be buried or above ground. So I called to ask. They told me the price they gave me was for buried. I agreed to the price and scheduled the work to be done. Fast forward to today when they show up and as I'm showing them where the work is to be done and verify that it's to be buried. The guy says absolutely not it's above ground. I called there office and the lady states that she would have said yes also like the other lady in the office told me but infact that it's not buried and she will have to let me know how much more. I informed her if they weren't going to honor their quote, not to bother with the work. The is the typical Bait and Switch. I did my part by asking for verification and they say yes to get the job, then when onsite the price goes up. Also was promised a call back to resolve this issue and no call back. Mike Dever and his crew did an excellent job installing an interlock kit to our circuit breaker box so that we can now run a portable DuroMax 12,000 watt generator as our backup power supply. Mike even installed the outside 50 amp receptacle in a specially requested location on the outside wall, which included drilling through 8 inches of solid concrete, at no additional cost. Mike came back per our request, and at a moment's notice, a few days later to confirm our test run was being properly performed. Everything runs GREAT! Not the best electricians around, came to my house to fix and install a light post outside the premises that the lawn company ripped out with a commercial lawn mover. The problem with the installation was 1- not explaining thoroughly the process and the work being performed. 2- when the lawn mower yanked the light post out and broke it at the base the wiring was damaged and partially shredded. 3- put in a new section of wiring, spliced with old wiring leaving the shredded part of the wire in the ground with the new light post making the GFIC switch in the garage constantly trip because of the moisture in dirt and or touching the new aluminum light post making the unit most of the time inoperable, any rain or turning on the sprinkler and the GFIC trips due to moisture and exposed electrical wires. 4- When I called the company back, the individual that did the work informed the receptionist that he did his job correctly. So the company sent him back to my house, when I started to question his work ethics and why he didn't run a new wire from the outside electrical conduit box to the top of the light post so the wire that ran through the conduit under ground the new wire would be sealed and would not trip the breaker,he took my comments to heart like a personal attack instead of constructive criticism, In my case just want it the job done right. He then left......So Called back In Charge and said what's going on I need someone to come and fix this properly. They then informed me that used vulgar language to this individual and they would get back to me. First of all I never used profanity, quickest way for a company to get out of doing their job properly and avoid me entirely. The problem to this situation and why I have no recourse is because the lawn company that ripped out the light post paid with the companies credit card Juniper Landscaping. Juniper Landscaping company was then fired in our community due to many issues to the residents lawns and damage to personal properties outside their homes...My point .....ask any electrician if they would have done what this technician did? Hired In Charge to install 220 for a new hot tub. Everything went along fine until the end. I tipped their guy every single time he came with the promise that the work would be done to spec and to code. They did not follow the plan submitted to the Sumter county building dept (as per the Sumter County building dept) and the work would not have passed inspection. The same was said to me by the Electrical Inspector who came out to see the incomplete work. They knew that if the spa installers came out and the work was incorrect or incomplete, they would leave and charge $200 to come back. I called their office and was screamed at by Office Manager Kathy claiming the work was done to code (she didn't see the work) and when I told her to stop screaming and listen to me, she screamed some more and then hung up on me! They did finally send someone out to complete the work after I had to call 2 more times. I sent a certified / return receipt letter marked personal to the owner, James Brush and said that if he did not call me to discuss or send the Spa company the $200 for the delay fee then I have to only assume that Office Manager Kathy is screening/throwing out his mail. Read thru the bad reviews and see how many that end with "and then the office manager started screaming at me and hung up on me". This is the vile person that represents your company?! This is ok behavior? Are you kidding me???? I will never use In Charge Electric ever again and I will make sure I let everyone know. Oh, and PS.
