I ate dinner near by, had some neck and back soreness so booked a massage. I have had 100's of massages and this ranks up there with the worst massage ever. It was more like an attack than a massage. I felt more beat up than soothed. The movements were harsh and too fast. I was uncomfortable the whole massage. There was absolutely nothing relaxing about it. The pain is no better either. This person needs a complete retraining. Maybe this place is only good for foot massage and not body. No chance I will come back and I would recommend passing up on this place. My recommendation is to have the person who trains have the staff massage them so they can see where improvement is needed. He charged me an additional $50. I said, wait that's not right. His response - it's sales tax, you don't know what sales tax is? Actually, I do. And in NJ it's 6.625%. Which that of $50 is $3.31. Excellent massage, and the prices are decent for sure - but the last few times I've been there, the massage therapist has seemed let down by my 20% tip. It was very obvious today- handed it right to her (20 dollar bill on a $95 service), and she didn't thank me but instead frowned and said something in her language to the receptionist. Both her and his demeanor changed towards me instantly. I even said to him, "Was she ok? I gave her $20," but he didn't answer me. I believe the owner has changed here. I used to be a really good customer here. Under old management prior to covid I use to come once or twice a week. I was here so often that the old receptionist and I are even Instagram friends. I always tip over 20% usually nothing under $25 and sometimes even $50 gratuity. Not sure if the new receptionist doesn't take me seriously because I'm kind and young. I received shortness of temper from him before and brushed it off. However today I called at 11:01. He answered Im sure, considering I can tell it was his voice. I asked for a full hour body massage with a women. He said he could do 12:05 of earliest. Did not ask me my name and said see you at 12:05- was quick to get off the phone. Figured he had my name from caller ID. I Was trying to kill time for that hour and not leave the area. Just to get there at 11:57 to find out he never penciled me in and I did not have a appointment. He did not take responsibility for these actions and tried to blame me saying I called freehold- then when I showed him I called his location. He then said he wasn't the one to answer the phone. Pleasantly surprised! I went in as a walk in and was able to be seen within a few minutes with no issue. It's more of a foot rub than true reflexology but it's a damn good foot rub. I thought it might be weird sitting in a room with others but I quickly forgot all about it. The therapist was very accommodating when I requested what type of pressure I preferred. The recliner seats and the quiet are so wonderful. My only beef is the big sign insisting you tip 15 bucks for 40 dollar service. 35% is NOT standard for a spa service. 20% is. Don't pressure your clients into tipping more. They will if they want to not because you are telling them to do so. I just removed a star based on the comment from the business in response to tipping. Your reasoning is insane. Tips are based on cost of service at THAT business, NOT OTHER ONES. read more

First time I ever got a real massage and not one you get when you get a manicure/pedicure. Nice relaxing atmosphere. The masseuse I got was gentle and yet effective at causing me to relax and enjoy the massage. Rates for the foot massages in particular are good and not frightening to see. Oh my gawd! today was my first visit and everything was great. From being greeted upon entering right up to walking out to my car. I'm not the kind of person to try new things and take care of myself. So glad I chose to try Happy Feet, and feel so good. First of all, this is not true reflexology. Second, there may be new management but nothing has changed. In sixty minutes the bottom of your feet are massaged for all of ten minutes max. Most of the rest of the time is spent spreading lotion on the top of your feet and your calves. Very little pressure or massage. Then the silly karate chops at the end, all the way up to practically your private parts. I don't expect a foot massage to include my thighs. (Nothing inappropriate, just awkward.). Don't waste your money. I've been there about ten times over two-plus years and keep hoping I'm going to get someone who knows what they are doing. Appt was for said time... didn't get seen till 15 minutes later. Paying for 60 minutes, got about 50 or so. The thing that upset me the most and that won't have me come back is that the masseuse literally waits for their tip in the lobby and just stares at you. I needed singles but apparently they were out ... how?! A business that busy is out of singles, no way! So I was forced to tip said amount. And then my friend tipped .. the masseuse looked at the amount in disgust (mind u it was 20%) and then said something in another language as if they were complaining. There are 4 rooms for body massages- so make sure that you call beforehand to reserve. As a returning customer, I had a terrible experience here. I had a gift certificate for one hour foot reflexology (my usual). Upon the start, my worker was sniffling. They usually do about 10 minutes of back work. When proceeding to my feet, my worker continued to sniffle, wipe his nose, and cough. When I opened my eyes, I noticed that through doing all of this, he continued to touch my body without sanitizing. I asked if he was sick and he said "yes, but it's okay." I stated that it was not okay and that I would like to come back. This was 20 minutes into the one hour treatment. Upon going to the desk to explain what happened, he said that I should have stopped immediately, therefore I could not be refunded my full amount. He gave me a 12 dollar credit, which isn't even half, in return (the gift certificate was worth $40). He said that because I didn't come out immediately he couldn't refund me because I was able to "enjoy" the treatment. I explained that I wanted to be sure and that it was awkward. I also mentioned that I am a consisted client. He would not budge in my refund and did not seem to understand that it was NOT enjoyable at all. I will not go back after this awful experience of customer service. I used to speak highly of them until this point. But having someone who is ill touch clients bodies without even trying to stay clean was a major turn off on top of the lack of customer perspective. I will take my business elsewhere. read more
