Unprofessional and moody. My son had an appointment with Melissa this morning at 8:15AM. When we…read moreshowed up on time, doors were locked and Melissa was not there. I texted Melissa letting her know we are there, at her gym. Melissa shows up late, and as she walks out of her car, her face is red, she is visibly angry and without any consideration for my son - her patient - she proceeds to angrily tell me that how dare I text her on her personal phone. My son pulled me aside and said "mom lets go now, she is looks so angry, I don't want to ever see her again." To help safe face in front of my son and calm her down, I profusely apologized and told Melissa that I had no idea she was bothered by texts. This is how we scheduled all prior appointments in the past with zero mention from Mellisa about it being an issue. Melissa went on to angrily tell us that she has a small child, and how she did us a big favor scheduling so early, and that texting her to see if she plans to show up, after our scheduled time, is so inconsiderate. I apologized again, mostly because I was hoping she would relax and back off, but her condescending tone and a red angry look on her face didn't change. Needless to say I was uncomfortable leaving my son in her care. For a healthcare professional to behave like this in front of her minor patient is completely unprofessional and uncalled for. Maybe it's time to take time off to spend with your child and setting the right boundaries including not giving away your personal number is a better solution than scaring your patients away with unprofessional and angry outbursts. Unfortunately, my son needed this appointment, but neither of us were comfortable staying or ever returning. I don't know why she bothered leaving her child at home, or getting out of the car to scare us away and ruin her reputation...
