Miguel is an absolute lifesaver! I was starting to lose hope thinking that I'm resigned to having pain for the rest of my life. I was having major issues with my scapula which was causing numbness all the way down to my left hand. Couldn't get comfortable sleeping and everyday activities were becoming impossible. I had never been to Healing Arts but read the great reviews and so I called to explain my situation. Miguel was recommended based on my symptoms so I booked an appointment. Never have I ever walked out of a massage feeling immediate relief. He knew exactly what was happening and how to address it. I walked out feeling completely restored. O-M-G. Just came off hiking the JMT for a rest day. Was super tired and sore so I took a friend's advice and made an appointment at the Healing Arts Centre. My friend had recommended Carrie but she wasn't working today. I read some Yelp reviews and Ryan seemed to come highly recommended. I booked online (10% discount) and made an appointment with him. Seriously, he was absolutely AMAZING! I told him I was on a very long hike with a heavy backpack and my sore spots were my shoulders, hips, and back. His technique was fantastic, and I've been getting massages for 25 years. I complimented him after we were done and also noted that his technique was very much like the Esalen style in Big Sur (which is characterized by long flowing strokes). I can't speak highly enough about Ryan. If you are ever in Mammoth and in need of some good bodywork, you definitely need to make an appointment with him! read more

My aging body desperately needed some TLC after being subjected to a few days of snowboarding and skiing as well as being exposed to the elements as I wasn't dressed appropriately to be hanging out up at the top of the Sierras in some really chilly windy conditions. Anyway - looked up and called and was shocked to find two openings at the same time for both my friend and me. Without hesitation, I was giving them my information over the phone to make sure we got those spots. Easy to find. Located above the used bookstore. Lots of parking. Not the most modern facility but very clean. Staff was very friendly. Christine is one of the better therapists I've ever come across. And I've been getting massages for quite a while. I first noticed her strength when she greeted me and shook my hand. Then it was confirmed when she was able to pinpoint and address the tension in my shoulders and back with her fingers and only minimally use her elbows to work it all out. It wasn't just about her strength though - she knew her way around the muscles; found the trouble spots and used enough pressure, some light and some very hard to get the job done. I'll be back to Mammoth when the snow conditions improve and I hope Christine is still there. I'll definitely ask for her again. read more

My massage with Phebi was amazing and deserves 5 stars! She was very good and worked magic on my body.. There were points that she held long and slow that made me think, how did you know?? I would definitely see her again. The space is interesting but quiet. My massage room could have been darker. The 3 stars was for the booking process and the $10 off promotion that wasn't honored because we didn't 'book online'.. What I did was click on Yelp's 'book an appointment now' link (which is directly under the $10 off promo link), which led me to a messaging thread with the owner. I inquired for availability and she told me I had to call to make the appointment. So I called and booked our appointments over the phone as I was told to do... There was no mention of the online process and promo even though my initial contact was online through yelp. Of course after our massages the promo wasn't honored.. It's a measly $10 sure, but the way about it was unclear... if you're going to have a book appointment now link, and then tell customers they have to call to book...and then not give them the discount, that's not really a good way to run things. Needless to say it ruined the wonderful massage experience. Bummer. read more

What a difference a massage makes. I'm usually skeptical when I see a business with a perfect score. Sometimes I think that they got friends to post them. I'm glad that I didn't let that stop me from discovering one of the best massage boutiques I've ever been to. With my activity level and injuries, I have found the benefit of getting a massage frequently. In Los Angeles, there are no shortage of places that I have visited for therapy and have found this place to be at the top of the list. After surgery last year and missing out a season of snow, my first day back on the slopes I awoke the next day stiff and sore. My wife also took a few tumbles off Cornice and needed a little body work. Here are the 5 reasons why you should come here and why I'll be back. 1) Easy to book appointments. Called and they were available for 2 people within the hour for 1 1/2 hour massage. 2) Easy to find location. Right across from the Stove, with plenty of parking. 3) Friendly staff. Not only was Carrie really welcoming, her staff was the same. 4) Relaxing, clean and comfortable rooms. Warm comfortable beds and clean sheets that allow you to heal mind, body and soul. 5) Amazing hands. Without a word during the session, my therapist was able to find all the knots and work them out with the right amount of pressure. Did not feel rushed and provided the therapy where needed. Massages feel great, but the true test is how you feel the next 24 hours. Amazing that all soreness was gone that night. Woke up refreshed and was able to tackle the slopes the next two days no problem. In fact, I woke up after the trip without any soreness. Healing Arts Centre & Movement Studio is just a quaint little yoga studio with a couple of small massage studios off to the side. When you walk in, you will run right into the reception desk. The massage space is just a small warm (not a temperature, but more like a feeling) space that is inviting and comfortable. My hubby and I each had a 1+ hour massage and were in heaven after we were both finished. My massage therapist was Carrie and she was really kind and very attentive to what my body needed. She was also careful to tell me what parts of my body were sore and stretches that I could do to loosen some of the muscles up. Pros: -Great Massages -Great space with good energy -Really nice staff -Clean facilities Cons: -No couples massages available because there is no space large enough to house two massage tables. I was in Mammoth a few weeks ago for a week of snowboarding, fishing and hiking, but unfortunately on the first day, the pollen triggered a sneezing attack, during which my back went out. I was bent over and in terrible pain the next day when I decided that I needed some professional help and in yelping around, I found Carrie at Healing Arts Center. What an amazing energy and talent she has! Normally I need a week of Yin yoga, chiropractic or acupuncture treatments and massage to heal, but in two 90 minute sessions, over 3 days, I was 90% better. Thank you, thank you Carrie! I had a 90 minute prenatal massage with Carrie. Hands down the best massage of my life...and I've had more than my share. For days I'd catch myself in a mirror or window and see my posture and was floored...knowing that the massage had lengthened my body and tremendously relaxed my shoulders. The pressure was perfect. The gear for prenatal massage couldn't be better...super comfortable on tummy and back. Her presence in the room...moving around me and getting lotions/oils/etc was calming and fluid. First time for a 60-min professional massage! A group of us rolled in to relax after some skiing. I really don't have any complaints, but I'll just have to admit that I'm not much of a massage guy. I was still sore the next day from my ski sessions that weekend... maybe a tiny bit less so? I don't think I was much more relaxed, and I kind of wonder what I gained from it. Phebi was nice though, and had good knowledge from anatomy, from what I could tell. They were able to fit in 4 of us for staggered appointments at short notice, which is something not many of the other studios could do, so props for that :) read more

I reserved a couples massage, was given a price and gave my credit card information to keep the reservation as a gift for my girlfriend's birthday. Upon showing up at healing arts, my girlfriend was taken into a separate room, and I was told to wait. A second masseuse came out and said she was ready. I explained I was confused, and had reserved a "couples massage" and wondered what the misunderstanding was. I was told, someone else took my reservation, and they don't do that type of massage. I was also educated about the fact that "all a couples massage was, was being in the same room together" Which was super helpful information, as if I was a moron and had never done this before. Later I was told "Well sorry, not sure what we can do. You can have yours separate?" To which I declined and the masseuse left promptly after. For a business that specializes in massages, the knowledge of a couples massage is pretty standard procedure and am very disappointed in the way I was mislead. I visited Healing Arts Centre over this past President's Day weekend. Carrie is a fantastic massage therapist and healer. She was able to loosen up areas that other massage therapists had previously skipped over. I felt so much better once my session was over. Worth mentioning, the price for a 75 minute session was very reasonable. Finally, I was really intrigued by the "Message from the Universe" cards,- which are on the table outside the entrance to the spa,- each with its own unique message. There's nothing like a spiritual reminder of how blessed we are,- especially when we are able to afford ski trips to Mammoth and visits to a spa for a massage,- while the majority of humanity has never been exposed to the opportunity to live this kind of lifestyle. read more

Visiting Mammoth with family for a ski vacation. Body has been really tight so I decided to call for a same day visit. I normally get massages back home regularly. I like my massages firm. I was hesitant to schedule with a male therapist as I normally see female therapists. I'm glad a did though! Ben was amazing!
