I gotta tell ya, I'm a huge fan of In-N-Out. I love an old-fashioned hamburger that's made fresh and fries covered in cheese and sauce. On my last visit I stopped at the drive-thru for just a simple cheeseburger. They have a worker outside taking your order instead of the drive-up speaker box. Once I paid and received my food, everything was perfect. If you tell them you're eating in your car they give you a little cardboard box tray for your food, which is really helpful to not mess up your interior. As mentioned in my Chik-Fil-A review, my 1950s LA-native dad loves a good fast food joint, especially In-N-Out, from his native California (though he's lived in Colorado for the past 40+ years, before he sadly passed - due to COVID - last year). My dad proudly sported at least 6 In-N-Out shirts, in both white & black, from Colorado, California, Las Vegas, and Arizona during his home health physical, occupational, and speech language pathology therapy sessions last September, while fighting the after effects of long-haul COVID, before passing unexpectedly in October. Like many in the Lone Tree area (where his church was based, nearby, across I-25), he sadly fell for homicidal lies & propaganda, and was unvaccinated. As a result, given both my dad & I have spent time living in the San Francisco Bay Area (him, after the Vietnam War, before joining the FBI - in both Denver & NYC), when I arrived on the scene from NoVA/DC - though I'm a Colorado native - my first stop, of course, was to In-N-Out - last August. I ordered my "go-to" #2 - with onions, like other smart reviewers said ;) - and my fries animal style. This location also courteously provides lap mats (placemats for the car), and a fork with animal style fries! Very smart. Love their Zero Sugar/Diet Lemonade. And their milkshakes, are also a hit. I remember growing up - in Denver (surrounding suburbs) - and visiting my cousins in SoCal - Orange County, to be exact, though my dad grew up in Beverly Hills - and we'd always hit up In-N-Out, because my dad loved their secret Bible verse underneath the cups. It's sweet, and they still do it. :) This location is also now sentimental - for me & my dad - because it's where I took him for his last, 77th, birthday, last September - one year ago, this month - because he was too embarrassed to bring his oxygen & walker (which he never had before COVID) in with us, to his favorite Indian restaurant. So I brought him here, and we ate in the privacy of our own car. Comically, I also played him the Beach Boys on Spotify, but he got sick of them after awhile, and asked me if I had anything else. At the time, I only had my Peloton Spotify playlist - mostly with house/bass/electronica - and, shockingly, my dad loved it. My dad is the best, my best friend, and I miss him every day, every hour, so this location will always be special to me - for the memories. Ate at this location about a month or so ago (and a week after eating at the new Parker location). In-N-Out knows how to do it right for a fast food burger. Great, fresh food - check! I can see why people crave the In-N-Out burgers and fries. They are very consistent and perfectly seasoned. Is it the BEST burger in Denver-metro, nope. But the service is so spectacular and the flavors are certainly top-tier. For the BEST burgers, I would favor the burger in the bar during happy hour at Fleming (possibly the best value too) or ANY burger at Park Burger, especially the El Chilango. I regularly order off the "secret menu." I typically get a Double-double animal/protein style (lettuce wrapped, without a bun) without tomato and a regular fry. I will warn you, the animal-style protein (patty formed with grilled, chopped onions and mustard inside) will take about 3-5min longer, but it's worth it. As I stated above, the service is spectacular. The restaurant is almost alway busy and yet the staff is constantly circling to ensure the dining room is clean. All this rave about In N Out Burger I thought I would give them a try. The restaurant was so busy including the drive thru and the service was quick inside so that was nice. The first thing I questioned was where's my beef? I ordered the cheese burger and the bun was dry, thick slice of onion and tomato. If you lk closely at the photo you will see that the beef pattie is thiner then the onion slice. The fries were under cooked and extremely salty for my tast buds. I guess this is a great value for price you pay. Groovy place to hang out with friends and get a good deal! One thing I noticed is their colors are like McDonald's brand. Very odd to say the least. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. I love in n out. Big fan since when I lived in socal. This was... wow. Let's start with the positive: the service. The folks to took our order, took payment, delivering food were all amazing. Very polite and friendly. Love that. But the food was not okay. At all. Fries were soggy, but that wasn't even the worst part. I ordered a hamburger with no onion. I took a couple bites and the bottom bun was stale. Like it was crunchy like a cracker. Then the buns were blackened (or burnt depending on how you choose to view that--see picture). But the burger was cold. It was cool to the touch. The entire sandwich. I stopped eating it and discarded it. If it was just soggy fries I'd be disappointed but get over it. But a cold burger? No way. That's not acceptable. I'm 90% sure that's not food safe either so I am now incredibly worried I'm going to get sick. If this was my first time eating in n out, I'd never return. I was shocked to see how many people were helping direct all the traffic coming into In-N-Out, as well as the number of employees in the kitchen churning out orders. We decided to go inside to place our order, which felt infinitely faster than waiting in the drive-thru line - I timed us from walking inside to receiving our meal, and it was exactly 15 minutes. I was nervous to venture to In-N-Out after hearing about the long wait times when the Aurora location opened up. My husband and I decided to give it a try last Friday night and overall, had a very smooth experience! You can choose to do the drive-thru or walk up. There are two different lines to enter with your car depending on which you're there for. We opted for drive-thru. To get into the line, we followed all the signs to eventually reach the Sears parking lot and looped around to In-N-Out. It was quite the journey but well executed and directed with all of the people tasked with the job. When we finally arrived at the In-N-Out parking lot, someone walked up to our window, explained the menu to us and took our order, so we didn't actually order at the regular spot where I assume you'll be able to when the buzz dies down a bit. Even so, it was super smooth from start to finish. We were in-n-out (get it?) in about 30 minutes total. Compared to other fast food joints, their menu is smaller. There are essentially burgers, fries, milkshakes and soft drinks. We got a couple of cheeseburgers animal style which includes their special sauce and toppings. We also tried the animal fries were are fries loaded with cheese, the sauce and onions. To drink, we got strawberry milkshakes and they were giving out free samples of hot cocoa. Both were great! For my toddler, we got a "grilled cheese" with tomato which wasn't actually grilled but seemed lightly pressed. Not really recommended. While not my favorite fast food burger, they are pretty fresh and solid! The staff was really nice from start to finish which made the wait worth it, too. I was surprised to see that there were still what seemed like miles of orange cones, signs, and police and city workers directing traffic to the drive through and dining room parking. There were maybe 4 or 5 cars in the lot and 6 or 7 in the drive through. Definitely not the crowds I had heard about when they opened. I'm a fan of In n Out in California and Las Vegas but this experience wasn't anything special. All the staff were friendly, polite, and helpful and the ordering, paying, and pickup were easy. Being in the middle, I felt like CO is literally the perfect middle ground for a In-N-Out vs Shake Shack battlefield. Got their hamburger and the animal style fries. My judgement is probably biased due to my NY pride. But I would objectively say that the ingredients in the hamburger are fresh and the patty might be less oily/greasy than that of Shake Shack's. I really don't want to review each In-N-Out burger I went to during this semi-quick trip to Denver, but can I say that all 3 of them delivered the same great service and food as this one? And trust me, we hit Shake Shack, and Dave's Hot chicken on this trip too...but I just ate In-N-Out. And just so you guys know, there is NEVER a good time to go to In-N-Out. The line is always long, but they have a good system so the drive-thru lines move quick. You either love them and their awesome fries, or think there's too much onion on their burger? Super cheap! You HAVE to order the Double-Double every time. Otherwise, the ratio of onion might overwhelm you (which I don't mind, lol!).
