Super soft bread. The turkey was really juicy, almost too juicy for my liking but I can't hold that against them. Definitely what I would consider the bottom rung of the top tier of sandwich shops. I really liked the hot pickles on the Hot Ones Hook and Ladder but I would suggest getting them on a roast beef sandwich. They almost always make nice sandwiches with care and well balanced ingredients. I've tried several and they're probably my favorite sandwich chain at this point. I get online to go orders most of all and they're usually perfectly made and don't have issues. Any issues were kindly fixed when discussed. Would recommend! read more

When you think of firehouse you think of mid sandwich joint. This firehouse specifically is awful! I have found hair in multiple of my families sandwich's and have seen that they have some nasty and impolite workers. As well as my 4 year old boy wanting a fire hat they refused and yelled at him. Was in the mood for a hoagie, sorry sub, and I had seen Firehouse Subs a short distance away since moving to Highlands Ranch, so naturally I turned to Yelp first. 3.5 stars was its rating, I try to stick to 4 stars and above, but I read their menu, saw that some proceeds go to firemen, so I figured what the heck. Since we're in the Corona virus age now, they recommended call ahead, which I did, Jackson answered the phone and took my order. Very professional and thorough when taking it, gave me the total and it would be ready in 10 minutes, great. When I got there I was pleased to see that all the guys behind the long counter were wearing masks, I wish I could say the same for the 5 people waiting to pick up their orders. Don't get me started on that topic! I got the Brisket & Cheddar cheese sub, while the misses got a build your own Smoked Turkey, provolone, lettuce and tomato, and requested it cold. They steam the meat and cheese to add some heat and get the cheese melted, then it goes on a lightly toasted roll. I've been eating brisket for around 40 years, so I think I know a good one. Their menu say it's smoked for up to 16 hours, comes with mayo and Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce (great choice BTW), of course I didn't expect NY fresh cooked brisket, but I must say I was extremely happy with my choice! It really was a nice sandwich, or should I say sub. The wife was very happy with her smoked turkey as well. After looking at the reviews, most of the lower rated ones complained about the staff being rude, some said the staff was great, but no one complained about the food, which is a great thing. You can teach people to be courteous but it's hard if the food sucks. That definitely wasn't the case here, nice staff and the subs were really good. Now don't get me wrong, this wasn't a Philly sub, but I've lowered my expectations since moving to Colorado, and I was pleasantly surprised with Firehouse Subs. A few miles away is a Firehouse Subs in Lone Tree. Go to that one. The one in Highlands Ranch can't even remember to add banana peppers. It looks like it got run over by a car. Every time. Apparently no one cares. Visited a year later and 5 people working. The line keeps growing with one person taking orders, one making sandwiches, one standing near the grills yawning while waiting for a faxed letter to be useful, and one waiting for the sole sandwich maker to wrap them up and place them in a bag, and one person watching everyone. Two years later this place hasn't improved at all. I think the owner / manager should go under basic six sigma training. Food quality is on par with Panera: Nothing special. At least I don't have to wait a half hour for food there. read more

its staffed with super nice people. there is very wise gentleman who is super courteous and super genuinely interested in helping you out with that perfect meal we all craving for. last few times I was there, it was the same gentleman who greeted and took the order from me. you order the meal and have a seat and they will bring it to you. my sandwich was piping hot, well portioned for the price and with the slice of pickle, it was definitely full filling meal. Even though I gave 3 stars - I think the food is a 4. The subs are always hot/toasted - plus they serve Coke products (sorry Quiznos). I had never tried hot sauce on a sub until coming here and I must say I am addicted. The sauce selection is great! Unfortunately - the service is always slow and average. Firehouse subs is a sub restaurant dedicated to firemen. Proceeds and donations can help fund firefighters. At the end of every order they ask if you would like to round up your total to donate, which is a neat idea to help firefighters! It can feel a little crowded in here with the layout and when it's busy, there isn't much room to stand to wait in line near the order cashier. Your kind of standing on top of tables if there is more than 1 person ordering. They have a wife variety of subs to choose from, I'm a huge fan of the turkey bacon ranch. Very delicious. They steam all of their meats to bring out the true flavor, and it's noticeable compared to a subway sub. The only con, is it takes about 5-10 minutes after you order until you receive your food, where other sub restaurants are on the spot after ordering. The restaurant had about 5 employees working during lunch hours, and it was slightly busy. This is an above average tasting sub, and definitely worth trying if your a fan of sandwiches. read more

I am a sub guy and always like to hit up new places. I know this is a chain and sometimes that means not the best attention to details. But I went to firehouse and had the steamer this week and fell in love with this place. Great meat really sauce (I am and sauce guy) sub and great atmosphere. The steak sandwich I ate tasted more like roast beef. The peppers tasted kinda sweet - even by sweet pepper standards. Firehouse has the best subs of any sub shop. They use high quality boars head meats and cheeses and they toast everything which makes the flavors glow. The best sub though is the meatball sub. The meatball flavor is the best I've ever had and when you dump some of their many choices of hot sauce on it, it will explode your tastebuds. read more

The Firehouse makes great subs! Love the medium Hook, fully involved, on wheat. Make it a combo with chips a drink and your out the door for $7.98. Also, appreciate a business that is always busy and the keeps making improvements. Check out their fancy high tech touch screen drink dispenser, pretty cool! At 690 calories and 26 grams of fat the Hook and Ladder is not necessarily a great wellness choice. However it is head and shoulders above a healthier Subway sub in flavor. Pretty close to where I work, and a very nice change from Subway. They have good choices and fresh ingrediants, and a wide array of hot sauces to choose from. There's not much else to say about it, a sandwich is a sandwich, after all. But I do like the place, and come here often. The downside, it's slow. Every time I come here the employees take their sweet time making the food. The wait really seems excessive for what's being ordered. Upon moving back to Colorado I had to come to grips with the fact that there are no Firehouse Subs within any immediately surrounding states, yes I would have drive hundreds of miles for a hook and ladder. When this Firehouse subs opened I made an immediate trip. I have missed it as badly as I miss not paying bills. I cried as I took my first bite of hook and ladder with that beloved firehouse sauce. I'm still torn between giving the restaurant 4 or 5 stars. I still think the food is fantastic and workers are very friendly. But I was there recently and the door to the bathroom was a little sticky and several of the tables still had crumbs on them. I know it's not 5 start dining or a formal restaurant. Other than those things, the place is still great. They have a new sodapop dispenser which has a touch screen for selecting your drinks, similar to a jukebox. It's pretty cool. I found out that they sell 5 gallon buckets for $2. Much cheaper than Home Depot. These are leftover buckets that they buy their pickles in. I needed a bucket for brining a turkey. The only bucket we had at home was used for home improvement projects and even after cleaning it with bleach, I didn't feel comfortable putting food in it. So anytime I need a 5 gallon bucket in the future, I will buy more from Firehouse Subs. read more
