When I first sign up for a InShape membership there was a Cycle class that is called free style ride 5 mornings a week and another one on Saturday mornings. Now there are only 2 cycle classes a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are paying for these classes and now they are cancelled. Also the gym has taken away the blue towels for cleaning the gym equipment are gone and and the disinfectant spray bottles are down to about two. So the place is very unsanitary. They also took away the Silver Snickers away. And the mens locker room is disgusting. read more

I enjoy the tennis courts. The pool could use major improvement. Always dirty could use someone out here skimming it every once in a while. Also the pool is always overran with children. Doesn't matter if you reserve a lane there's sure to be kids in it. Nobody enforcing it and not really any signage that you need to reserve so maybe the parents just don't know. It is annoying when you're actually there to swim laps though. Inside of gym is fine. Could be cleaned more often and use an upgrade to some of the machines. Overall just an ok gym will probably look into switching. read more

This is a great in-Shape Family Fitness facility. It's a great size and filled with everything you need for your fitness needs, at a fair price for the amenities provided. Cardio areas are well equipped free weights and machines are separate and also well equipped. There is an outdoor pool, spas, tennis courts and pickle ball courts. Towels are free at the front desk. The men's locker room is spacious and features both a dry sauna and a large steam room. The front desk staff are generally friendly and helpful. read more

You can not get ahold of anyone in regards to your membership. We have a doctor's note to cancel our membership and was told we needed to email corporate, no response for 2 months but they still take our monthly dues. We've sent multiple emails bc theres no number to call corporate. When we call the local gym, we are just told we need to email corporate not them. This is absolutely ridiculous. read more

This joint is so busy, lack of parking, and yet they still had the audacity to close down a whole room section of the free-weights for like 2 weeks. It's a nice gym otherwise, but like, Planet Fitness is WAY cheaper if you just doing weightlifting. If you're swimming and playing tennis and racketball etc. etc. I understand, but otherwise surely there are better options in town. read more

I would not recommend this gym to anyone or let alone any inshape gym. My car was involved in a hit and run in their parking lot. They would not let us view footage of the incident without a subpoena. What happened to "we value our customers". Overall, the inside of the gym is filthy and customer service is awful! read more

Would not recommend this gym. I specifically asked to sign up for a month to month membership because I would only be in the area for two months. I spoke to two employees regarding this who assured me that I would not be billed any early termination fees and that customer service was very accommodating. Well after I canceled the membership they charged me an early termination fee claiming I had signed up for a yearly membership. When I spoke to a manager he sent an email to customer service and open a ticket for my complaint. After having spoken to the manager twice with to tickets for my complaint request by the manager and after I sent four messages thru the app along with two personal emails as instructed by the manager I have yet to receive a response from either the manager or customer service regarding my complaint. When you try to call customer service on the number listed on goggle it directs you to some marketing person who will not forward your call to customer service unless you provide them your credit card information for whatever promotion they are trying to sell you. When I brought this to the attention of the manager he kept telling that customer service has a physical address in Stockton which I asked if he was suggesting I drive up to Stockton in order to resolve the issue. To this day I have not heard from anyone. I would not recommend this place due to the fact that their customer service is practically non existent and the manager are completely useless in resolving any issues because they lack the authority and even they can't get a hold of customer service. Additional the facility is mediocre at best. read more

This is the one of the nicest health clubs in California. They have very friendly people who make you feel valued as a guest. The membership program is priced at a very low price for the quality, variety and value you receive. The facilities are very well maintained and clean. I join bc of the DAYCARE SERVICES they don't give free pases for kids bc I'm pretty sure if your kids have never stay in daycares they are going to get sick! I'm not sure how often they clean the kids zone but my toddlers stay 3 days and got sick.. Also the morning lady always looks so stressed with the kids.. they have like 15+toddlers for only herself.. they obviously need more people helping her! They call me bc another toddler hit my toddler and she was crying, the lady couldn't explain what happened! obviously she can't with so many kids! At the end we are paying extra for them and they need to fixed this problem or I'm going to cancel my membership. Besides that everyone here is super nice! read more

Maintenance is nearly dismal sometimes. The spa is frequently closed for maintenance. But the staff is mostly awesome. Very friendly and personable. Recently I forgot my water and tried to buy one and they won't take cash! I thought that wasn't lawful. They are insisting I use a credit card attached to my membership. Nope. So I was pretty annoyed and was like I guess I can't have water during this workout. Ino Sencio stepped up and said I'll buy her water. I'm not sure he works there he may be a member too but I was stunned at this kindness. Never seen him before or since. I tried to give him the money and he looked me straight in the eyes and firmly said no. I didn't argue he was so serious. Great community for sure. All around. I just recommend they clean the pool filters and spa seating it's pretty filthy. And keep the pool area clean and tidy. It's always a mess. Maybe I'm spoiled the last gym I belonged to it he Bay Area kept the pool and surrounding area immaculate. Staff tidied up all day long. And banned technology in the locker room so no photos and nice quiet sauna. The sauna is always filled with people blasting music they just can't leave their phones even to relax in the sauna. Sad. The facilities are okay when I first started going there 3 months ago there were several non-working machines but after a few weeks got fixed. I like the variety of athletic activities they provide and classes. However, when I enrolled I was provided with a $55 monthly deal then was charged on my card a $69 monthly fee because they said I didn't have my checking account tied to it. They never mention this had to happen to get the $55 deal! Then, I was charged an extra $50 because of a yearly fee which was never mentioned to me. Businesses that don't present all their "hidden fees"upfront are shady in my book. I had to discontinue. I recommend scrutinizing their contact before signing up because they hold back on a lot of detail during orientation when they are trying to get you signed up. read more

Tried making a small change to my daughters family plan so I could become her caregiver and take the kids to swimming and classes they love but nope in fact it was "Absolutely not there can be no changes whats so ever, unless we add a new yearly fee 89.99 and 49.99 for you." Shut down for covid but kept charging me for months without letting me know or my consent. My in shape i paid for is permanently closed but I had to get my lawyer involved to get them to stop charging me. When my in shape was open one of the clerks got my wifes phone number from our file and sent d%ck pics to her and tried to get her to call him. The only reason they don't get 1 Star is the classes and pool. The weight room is confusing and hard to use, and the only weights available 90% of the time are so heavy most people won't use them (120 lbs dumbbells anyone?) My brother recommended In -Shape on Demaree st, in Visalia. I was sold on the nice pool area. But moreover on how spacious the gym is and clean. Due to my hectic work schedule I was able to train for a half marathon in Vegas. I only had 8 weeks to train, with the help of Ariel (Personal Trainer at In-Shape/Demaree),I made it to the finish line without no injuries. One is because of the rude unprofessionalism I experienced at the front desk. I didn't get the rude associates name. The second is because of the lack of variety of equipment and the condition that it was in. After paying $26 for 2 day passes, I would definitely not visit again nor recommend this gym to anybody. read more

I used to love to swim at InShape. I went to the pool today and was informed that sharing lanes was mandatory. This was without prior notice to members. Two reservations will be made for each lane. I have physical disabilities. I cannot share a lane without my safety being at risk. The manager stated they are ADA compliant for the sole fact that they have a disabled swim lane. Non disabled people reserve this lane. She did not explain how having a disabled and non disabled person in a narrow swim lane provides for the safety of both members. She denied my request for accommodation. In addition, there will now be adult lap swimmers in the family swim lane with children. I filed complaints with the appropriate agencies. Go somewhere else. This place doesn't care about members. read more

I was always the type to get a gym membership and go maybe once or twice a month and then cancel. I would get this drive to be better and healthier and give working out a go. But the previous gyms never helped fuel my drive. They didn't really care about my journey. There was nothing compelling me to stay. With In-Shape, I have been a member for about 10 months and counting. There staff is awesome and friendly. They really care about your journey and provide motivation along the way. Only negative I encounter is that it can get busy during those rush hours, and finding weights can be a challenge. But I just modify my routine until available and I've been able to get my desired workout in. Not really a big deal as I usually choose non-rush hours myself. I highly recommend working with their trainers as well as check out a Friday night yoga session to round out your week. read more

Now I was informed I could not bring my grand child to swim....one person charges me $6.00 to have a guest another charges $8.00...just to swim...geez I already pay too much for what I do. Someone told me I am getting charged for towels I dont even use.....the employees seem to walk around busy with their phones. So here's the deal - this place is hands down the best gym I've ever been to! The price is legit and you definitely get what you pay for and more. This place radiates Cleanliness! Smells good! Is always clean! I've been to other places and I felt like I was going to get sick because it was a disaster. (Thank you Lorraine) The staff is always friendly! Jen at the front desk always greets you with warm welcoming and a huge smile! I signed up with Jay and it was a great experience! They have a great selection of snacks and energy drinks to purchase if you're on the go! The best thing to me is the sauna! It's the icing on the cake! And it's also always clean! Never overly crowded. Even the guests are super sweet! You often see the same faces if you have semi matching schedules and it's nice to get some good workout tips and positive vibes. I just started going to the gym. I have never really like to go and prefer to work out at home because I felt intimidated & didn't know where to start at other gyms. First night going in with my husband we did a light weight class and it was awesome!! They motivate you and make you feel like you're working out with friends. Decided to go in again and try something different. I went in not knowing what we were going to do,I just followed my husband right in. We did a training class with Kella,Matt & Ariel. They taught us TRX & core moves. Spotted us and gave us advice on how to not hurt our selves. I will say this, it was tough but they made it all worth it. They are awesome trainers and even though I am soar in places I didn't know I could be soar in I actually enjoyed their training class. I still can't believe I am saying I enjoyed working out. I moved to CA a year ago and was surprised that there were no Rec Centers or Community Centers that I could join. I never had to join a gym before and was a little hesitant. I decided to try out In-Shape. I work in Porterville with only early or late hours to workout. The hours at In-Shape worked perfect for me. My trial week was perfect and I decided to join (after the Goshen roadwork was done). Everything changed after I got my membership. I kept asking for the Kick Start Training Session since I was new to a gym and really didn't know how to use everything but no one ever called me back to set it up. I went to a couple of classes and was really disappointed. Most of the moves involved squats, when I was looking for a full body workout. I ALWAYS felt intimidated and out of place, and no matter what time I went it was SUPER packed. I went to the other Visalia location and the front desk was extremely rude! That's when I decided to cancel my membership. It's such a beautiful gym with so much to offer but my experience was off putting. read more

I love this place! I spend most of my time in the weight room and I find it nice and spacious and clean compared to the Mooney location. Equipment is almost always readily available unless the place is super busy, things are usually clean and tidy, and the employees are always very nice. I do wish there was another squat/power rack or two, as they see a lot of traffic and I've waited 30+ minutes for a rack at peak times, but that's more on my fellow gym-goers being inconsiderate of other people's time. Their Customer service SUCKS!! I am beyond disappointed with this gym. A) They raised my membership fees without notice because "I was out of contact" all of a sudden. Way to punish your loyal members! B) I purchased a month of tanning for nearly $40 and I wasn't allowed to start my session thirty, twenty or even TEN minutes before my "appointment time". Keep in mind NO ONE was utilizing the bed at the time!! C) The staff barely acknowledges you when checking in because their conversations are more important. I feel like I'm being rude interrupting their chit chat to ask for a towel or anything. D ) I'm not sure if anyone ever cleans or stocks the women's restroom/lockerroom :/ Eeek! These folks are why I am not fat. Simple as that. Alone, I get frustrated and leave in 5 minutes. Taking the classes has been awesome. And it isn't just that they yell at you, lol. After a busy day of managing everything in my life, I get one hour when the instructors take over and I get to stop being a grownup for a bit. Their encouragement? Totally distracts me from the fact that they are kicking my butt so much harder than I would push myself. They are truly excited about new people coming in. Anyway, perhaps you feel self conscious.
