Janet is the best! I've taken my spaniels there for 3+ years. She caters to the dogs, is patient and caring. Great family owned business!

Always so super nice to both me and my little man. Never any issues with his cut. Always gets him in and out quickly. And great pricing.

On June 15, 2026, I took my 45-pound mini Goldendoodle, Piper, to PetCo at 95 Flowers Commerce Dr.,…read moreClayton, NC 27527. This was her first grooming appointment with PetCo. The appointment was scheduled from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. After walking to the check-in area and waiting for the customer ahead of me to complete his business, a woman wearing a grooming apron came out from the back. She had apparently seen me enter through the glass windows. She did not introduce herself or review Piper's appointment, she immediately began feeling my dog's coat and stated that she might not be able to groom her because she was matted. I acknowledged that Piper had some matting and began feeling her coat myself. The woman then stated that Piper was "over 75% matted" and that PetCo could not groom dogs that were that matted. I disagreed and replied that Piper was nowhere near 75% matted and certainly not even 50% matted. I then asked if she was my groomer, and she said she was not. Despite not being the groomer assigned to Piper, she again stated that PetCo would not be able to groom my dog. At that point, I told her I felt PetCo was being ridiculous and that I would simply take Piper back to her regular groomer, whom she has seen for the past three years, even though that groomer is located about 30 minutes away. The reason I scheduled with PetCo was convenience, as it is much closer to my home. What bothered me most was that someone who was not my dog's groomer appeared to make an immediate judgment about whether the appointment could proceed. I also found the interaction unusual because, when I originally scheduled the appointment, I was asked about Piper's breed and weight. After I explained that she is a mini Goldendoodle weighing approximately 45 pounds, the employee remarked, "That's not a mini." I replied that she is, in fact, a mini Goldendoodle. She seemed concerned about Piper's size at that time as well. The appointment was booked as "Piper's FS Long Hair Med Bath & Haircut Premium." Piper is three years old and has been groomed regularly throughout her life by the same groomer. In those three years, we have never been told that she was too matted to groom, nor has an appointment ever been refused because of the condition of her coat. While I understand that some matting may require additional work, special handling, or additional fees, this was the first time I had ever been told that my dog could not be groomed at all. In my view, if a dog's coat requires additional work because of matting, that should be discussed as part of the grooming appointment. If PetCo has grooming policies regarding matting, coat condition, breed, size, or any other factor that could prevent an appointment from being completed, those questions should be asked during the scheduling process. Groomers are the professionals and know what information they need to determine whether they can accommodate a dog. I was asked Piper's breed and weight when I made the appointment, and PetCo had every opportunity to ask additional questions at that time. I cannot say whether size, coat type, staffing limitations, or company policy played a role in this experience. I can only say that I left feeling disappointed. Piper has been successfully groomed by the same professional groomer for the past three years without issue, which is why I was surprised by how quickly this appointment was dismissed. For what it's worth, I routinely pay approximately $90 for a full-service grooming appointment and tip my groomer an additional $30 at every visit. Have a larger hairy dog? PetCo might not be the place for you.

We have never had a problem and feel completely comfortable leaving our 'kids' there. Joan sends us a short video of our pups each day so that we can see they are having A BALL while we are missing them from far away. Joan does a great job watching after the dogs. She is a friendly and wonderful person. I can't imagine being more comfortable leaving my dogs with anyone else. And the property is beautiful! Joan only takes in a limited number of dogs at any one time (I think the number is 6 or 8) so each dog gets plenty of attention. The sleeping quarters are clean and each dog has a large area to relax in. Outside there is a HUGE fenced in area that used to be used for horses that the dogs now use to run and play with each other. It's tough to judge a dog camp the first time you see it. Everything may look great and you may have read a review or have been referred by a friend, but you never really know. Its only on the second visit that you get a real indication as to how well the a dog camp treats its guests and you get that indication FROM YOUR DOG. Nowadays we can't get within a half mile of Buzzy's before our dog starts jumping around and singing excitedly in the back of our truck. In short, our dog LOVES to visit Buzzy's Bark-n-Run! Then at the end of the visit I think our pup is actually disappointed to see us when we show up to pick her up! The bottom line is that dogs don't want to leave Buzzy's! This may be the easiest Five Star Review I've ever written for Yelp.

We and our dog had a wonderful experience with Buzzy's Bark-N-Run Dog Camp. The owner, Joan, is…read moreknowledgeable and very caring about all the animals at the farm. Her understanding of dogs is amazing--she was able to correctly assess the personality of our Roxie within two minutes of meeting her--and when Roxie seemed stressed at night, Joan was able to find a solution that calmed her and made her a happier camper. Joan also helped to reduce our stress by giving us text updates and sending us videos of Roxie romping with other campers. After looking at other boarding places with metal crates on concrete floors in giant warehouses, seeing Buzzy's immediately felt like coming home, with fields of green grass for Roxie to run on, and chickens and donkeys for her to watch and bark at. (So, I guess Roxie did fulfill both parts of the "bark" and "run" promise of the camp.) Joan is no-nonsense, the way you want in someone caring for your loved pet...but she is also obviously in love with all the creatures on her farm. Roxie came home happy, healthy, and worn-out. We are thrilled to have found Buzzy's, and we will definitely be boarding Roxie here again.

Without sad this company has gone downhill so badly. It's not even funny. They can't keep HELP that's number one! They charge you for every little thing you could possibly want done and then if you want a special time, they try to charge you for that to have your dog ready! That's not even the half of it. I'm tired of being promised a particular time and it's not until closing that my dog ends up having to be picked up. That's not even the half of it. The work has gone downhill so badly, and then the owner blatantly lied to me. I was told that my dog was only touched by the owner. Never other people bathing at other people drying it. I was told they would never use a cage to dry my dog. They lied! Not only that when I finally had enough of their bullshit about wanting to charge me because I brought my dog in in the morning, was promised to have her by 1 o'clock when I made the appointment. Well, the next thing I know a man the owner comes out and tells me in a nasty rude disrespectful tone that I don't know how business works and let me tell you! Gee, I don't know how business works. I was a CEO for 15 years! I owned an advertising company among other hats and was incredibly successful so much so that I could retire at 42 when our Child was born! The owner is an out and out bitch she's disrespectful and the work is so shotty now I found a cut on my dog the last time I brought her said something they apologized and said it would never happen again they didn't get that opportunity! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR STAY AWAY FROM HOT DOG GROOMING. I DON'T CARE HOW MANY GOOD REVIEWS THERE ARE THESE PEOPLE DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON BEHIND THE SCENES! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT THIS WOMAN GETS SOME THERAPY. SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH CLIENTS LET ALONE OUR FUR BABIES! AND HER PRICES ARE NEVER THE SAME. THEY'RE SO INCONSISTENT IT'S RIDICULOUS! If I could only give them a -100 I would I do however, highly recommend Pooch Pad they are incredible. My Groomer had gone away for a while, but now she's back and I am so happy to have her! She's actually opening her own place within the next year year and a half waiting to break ground! Stay away from this disgusting person and her business don't you just love these reviews !
